My mother who's 86 lives in the sheltered housing right opposite. There was a school on the site before and it was demolished. The site was vacant for a while, then the war in Ukraine started and everyone was encouraged to take in the genuine war refugees from Ukraine. Then all of a sudden. The Welsh government and the Vale council said that they are going to build a temporary camp for the Ukrainian refugees and then proceeded to placate the local residents. My mother and most of the old age pensioners believed it hook line and sinker. I think they are in for a bit of a shock when it opens.

I'm a disabled person currently homeless in temporary accommodation, bathroom is an illegal extension, single brick no foundation falling down, literally cannot use if the winds are strong as it might collapse. Big hole in the wall can sit in the bath and look at the garden, whilst enjoying the tiles fall off and cut me. Damp everywhere and a massive cockroach infestation. Have a hospital bed that is broken but they won't fix it because of the cockroach problem. Same for washing machine, pump went and the insurance gave new pump but said I have to fit it myself (impossible I'm disabled) due to the cockroachs. Welcome to Britain 2024....😢
Social services may be able to set you up into shared accommodation. It's not great (though I'm quite lucky tbqh) but your housing benefit will essentially cover everything and any services charges will usually be quite small.

Because I need a hospital type bed, it adds an additional layer of complexity as well as most temporary options won't accommodate that. Where is all the money coming from for all these expensive projects? Billions per year for migrants, billions for fanning the flames of war in Ukraine, billions for upgrading UK armed forces to make them fit for purpose, billions for monkey pox vaccines and related medical equipment for the next pandemic.....has the goverment got its own printing press for printing money? It seems to me the country is living beyond its means.

Rubbish, Denmark only take so many, their problem was during the 80s and 90s inviting them in for cheap labour. cleaning and NHS.
