    Thank you for talking about everything in so much detail! Pregnancy creeps me out SO much, so it really helps hearing you talk about exactly what it feels like when the milk goes in and that your vagina hurts at the end of the day. Stuff like that is exactly what I want to know about pregnancy and having a baby! So thank you x

    Your videos are always so enjoyable! I'm neither a mum, nor am I much into fitness but watching your content at the start of a day really inspires me to push for whatever goals I've set myself!
    It's completely understandable if this isn't possible with time restrictions of a new baby at the moment, but a "day in the life" style vlog would be lovely!

    My first was "scream, eat, scream, eat, poop, scream" no sleep during the day, only when we were walking and for three or four hours at night. And the second one was the perfect newborn. Newborn stage is very different for everyone.

    • @rae9040
      @rae9040 5 лет назад

      moominesque I had one like that, horrendous colic day and night. It's easy for parents of 'good' newborns to say it's not that bad and there won't be lots of tears etc, but unfortunately it's a very different story for those of us with high-needs babies (particularly if you don't have a partner at home during the week to help). The toddler years are very tiring in their own way, but much more fun!

    I had a terrible fourth trimester and I am so grateful a nurse finally told me to just stop trying to breastfeed because I think I would've sunk deeper into postnatal depression for sure. Sometimes being persistent just doesn't pay off. The pain from mastitis plus the sleepless nights and my screaming son were just like hell for me. You are so right about limiting the amount of information and advice, I know everybody meant well but what is best for some can be very bad for others. Great video as always

    Aww, I'm currently 9 and a half weeks post partum and the 4th trimester hasn't been too bad thanks to my super supportive husband, family and friends. Thats the only reason why i've been able to churn out some videos and blogposts.
    We went on our first flight last week and my Baby didn't even cry once during the 6 hours, only got fussy when we landed and they took forever to open the doors.
    My plan is to exclusively breastfeed for 6 months, love how pumping allows me go out and get things done without having my little one with me.
    I gained a whopping 20kg after never weighing past 56kg all my adult life, got down to 66kg after 3 weeks post partum, started exercising on Friday, let's see how much more I can drop before the end of the fourth trimester. Going to try out your exercise videos and get a skipping rope 😊

    Its wonderful you've had such a positive fourth trimester experience (and your attitude makes a huge difference). I took care of my pelvic floor right away too, never had any leaks at all, even when I was cleared for physical exercise at 5 weeks. However, we had such a rough go for the fourth trimester with a baby that wouldn't sleep much (only 12 hours a day for a newborn! he sleeps more now at 1 years old, crazy!!) and needed to be held by someone.

      The Squeezy app from the NHS is great. Totally worth the money (it's only the price of two coffees!). It describes how to do the exercises and gives you daily reminders. I've never managed 3 times a day but it has made me do it daily for months and definitely made a difference.

    I think the experience of having a baby can be so different for everyone depending on your baby and your own personality. Our now 15 month old had reflux which made feeding incredibly different. With each feed he would throw up and so making sure he actually got milk was a real circus of pumping and then oversupply issues. I can hand on heart say newborn was so much more difficult than any other stage we have encountered. And I am still breastfeeding my 15 month old so it is nothing to do with breastfeeding struggles. So to any mums who might be struggling during newborn stages, it does get better x

    Do you know what I find weird. When someone has baby everyone asks about the baby. How are they, are they difficult, sleep,feed, even pooing pattern. No one genuinely asks how is the parents how is the mum feeling. Apart from the stereotypes statement and assumption. For example I'm single never been pregnant. My pal had a daughter 3 yrs ago. Now i obviously congratulated her when she'd announced on fb the birth of her daughter. But then left it for a few days then dropped her a txt asking her how she was feeling. If she had any difficulties etc. I didn't ask about her daughter. She told me she had breastfeeding difficulties and she her milk was weak. I then adviced her that it would take a few days for her milk to come through. Also because of aunt experience I knew you need to have a diet for breastfeeding and watch what your eating like can't have to much fish etc. I asked her if her midwife visited or advice her. She's like no this was like a week in after birth. So then I asked her to phone the mid wife and ask for a visit. As I knew from my aunt again that midwife visits sooner. Turns out the midwife hadn't gave my pal advice on stuff I told her and due to my insistence of her to call the midwife. Cx I told her you need to get checked to etc. Then she called and the midwife emergency visited and apologies because she was to visit earlier. Another thing was I live in Glasgow my friend in Perth at the time. Just by the chats I had and advice. She was surprised. Because she was just getting the normal assumption stuff from parents. No one asked her how she is. So meanwhile she was confused as a new mum. Then felt embarrassed to ask for help and I came as a pleasant surprise. Since I'm not a mum. But she still got the help she needed. I'm not blowing my on trumpet. I just found it weird and bad for my friend. It's just a simple act and question. It's like those ad we watch for suicide prevention of asking people how are they. I know that's kinda a serious thing to use as a example. But I find it stupid how no one just ask the mum and dad how are you. That was what my friend was most grateful for . I didn't once ask about her daughter. Then I told her that I didn't do ask because her daughter had my friend and a dad. But obviously to me Iona was a new mum so I was concerned who is caring for her. After that I just left a open door for Iona . So I told her you need help/advice just txt. Then I dropped txt here and there. So that she knew I was there for her but not overbearing her. We can prevent so much feelings of isolation, embarrassment, post-natal depression, stress. By just showing compassion and kindness to the mum and dad. Instead of just focusing on the baby. Parents are vulnerable to not just a new born . Sending positive energy and prayers xx

    Newborn stage is definitely the easiest! Even with your first. When they start to get mobile it’s a loooooottttt harder to keep up with everything else. Oh and one more thing: my gynaecologist advised me NOT to do pelvic floor training during pregnancy, as birth can be a lot harder with a tight muscle (makes sense to me). • @karauen75

      The elvie isn't the only way to strengthen your pelvic floor. She's talking about it because it's a sponsorship. Do some quick research and invest in some kegel beads (loads of companies make them) and/or see a physiotherapist/physical therapist.
