I run port up on 2 sundown zv5 18's and Its way better than port back. It seemed like with the port back it was loading off the back because of how close it is and with port up I could get a better sound. I just dont like when the port is facing the back and its real close and the box loads off of it completely changing what I'm trying to do. It seems like the wave off of the port has more time to mature when its port up. It also helped with the low notes A LOT!
I just sold my sr5 v6 89 toyota pickup just like that wish I didn't sell it and just did a 1jz swap on it like I wanted to. I really like his yota and those DC set up nice build. That's way to high 48 and up .
Yep the air coming out of the box has to escape if it's muffled by being to close to the cab it could cause backpressure and negatively affect the spl.
Sat in an old Golf running six 12's last week thing does 157DB on music all squisher into a VW Golf running off three 9k watts shits nasty so this car probably kills too.
Hey Jacob, please keep the truck builds coming. As you know I have truck and I'm a truck guy, and I love seeing the builds because they are all so very unique , considering the available space in each truck is different, it's amazing to see how each man makes the most of what little space they have and still get nasty loud. Good video bro. Also PS I do port forward subs up and it pounds. I think they are both very similar although the opposite could gain a db or two.
It was a beast for sure Wilkes and it's all in your decision but seems to be a fun build to work in these extended cabs if you want to sacrifaice your back seats.
Loved the video and the build. The higher tuning of his setup probly sounds awesome on older rap music . You know , the good stuff that u can understand what they are saying and the lyrics weren't just a bunch of babbling nonsense.
Not everyone jumped on the low low train, personally I prefer right around 40hz. I like that punch you in the chest bass, rather then that flutter massage your back bass. But hair tricks are Def the shit!
NoLife Volumina I love my high bass it feels crazy and hits hard, but I also love my hair tricking low bass, I have an interchangeable port 32hz and 40hz
This build was at a Show in NC called Audio SPL Showdown. FYI Future check video and description as it's always in both or either. Thanks for always watching Jamie. The walkaround was NOPI though.
Love the deck box. Not often u see that over there. Well I see that in everyone's vehicle here in Trinidad. Nice build and nice video man. High tuning tho, hows the mids and highs keeping up?
Yea man it was different to see and cool as not many like you mentioned unless their real competitors.Thank You Sonzofsylvia and the music is taken over by bass in this one.
Razor?!? Come on Jacob! Just giving you shit, did you recognize the song right away or no? Pretty sure I am a little older then you, that songs from my generation, and a little before his. He picked it on purpose, perfect for that set up and super popular. BASS MECHANIX-CHANIX-CHANIX!

Hey man sure thing as they come I bring and thank you will do. All in trial and testing for port placement like you said yessir.
He didnt seem like he wanted anyone seeing anything or maybe he just mad but he had a nice setup
Might feel theres more left in the car and wants to show it off when everything is done.
I noticed that shit too.
Love the car shows. And yea i have noticed that alot of the ports are either up or out to the side firing at the wall.
I'm changing my ports to face up like that right now. I'm going for spl no wall. I hope it will be better like that.
Goodluck man let me know how it goes would like to hear the gains hopefully.
Damn it seemed to be loud as heck
Wish I could hear this up close . Should I ever get an extended cab of any kind , I'm doing something very similar to this.
It was a beast for sure Wilkes and it's all in your decision but seems to be a fun build to work in these extended cabs if you want to sacrifaice your back seats.
Did you just sat Price did a 167 with 3 18s! Any videos of that build?!? I can't seem to find it amongst his 1000s of videos.
No idea sorry man

Anyone in here got similar setups in an extended cab of so I'm looking for ideas thinking 4 15s
Looking for the same thing. Let me know if you find anything.
Its rough to see such a nice System which isnt tuned low
Not everyone jumped on the low low train, personally I prefer right around 40hz. I like that punch you in the chest bass, rather then that flutter massage your back bass. But hair tricks are Def the shit!
