Very cool video ... loved the Stainer fiddle, conversation, and the background Enescu music by Rosanne. Thanks! Oh, and I"m sure that bow is great too. Looks beautiful.

Great video! So fascinating to see this first meeting between artist and instrument.

It seems to me baroque-only instrument (Steiner is from that period anyway). Are all Steiner violins that specific?

Stainer violins ar much underrated in my opinion.👌🏻

Thank paganini😂. Hes the guy that really took violins beyond their practical purpose. The stainer is a true instrument. A true violin. The other are art though. Allowing the musicians to mold tones. To empathize with the audience and control them. Up and down and emotionally provocative. To which we are now so used to because thats the epitome of what artist means in music still.

They will have a comeback and be more desired than anything else, I'm sure. This is Bach's and Vivaldi's material. This is the platform.

Nah. The strads can draw, drag, and manipulate tone far more than any other maker. Guarneri’s are too, able to really manipulate the tone. . Giving the violinist the ability to control the audience emotionally. The instruments develop a voice. But the stainer is a true violin. This is one of the finest instruments. True to its name. While strads and guarnaris are art.

Every video ive seen of them on here. People try to drAw and push the strings and waver the tones. Theyve trained their entire lives to learn to do it. . The stainer cant do it.. then they play true punctual notes and its the gold standard.

How much is the value of this particular violin on today's market?

I don't know about this one, as I'm not current ... but they used to go for 80k us to maybe 160k still a lot but great violins. Lots of fakes and copies, just like strads though.

He makes the comment that this violin is one of four, in a group, that he knows of, that were all made at the same time-frame, from the same tree, by the same person. I believe that's what he said. That being the case, he surely should realize that they will not all sound the same. Different pieces of trees that come from different parts of the same tree, are not all going to ring the same, and resonate evenly. I heard that from a video that explained the wood in Cremona, Italy and explained part of Stradivari's choices in wood qualities.

It would be interesting to have a discussion on the relationship between the violin and the BlackaMoors.

Who owns this particular violin? or Currently plays it?

The violin is owned by a Swiss Institution, the Musikkollegium Winterthur. The Winterthur String Quartet periodically plays the instruments and they are occasionally rent them to external musicians.

its the double concerto by Bach, of the Brandenburg concerto´s. I recommend watching Bach Double Oistrach and Menuhin sweating in the light spot. I ´ve learned Violin 2 of it. Both parts are similar rich of shift difficulties but give knowledge and satisfaction.

Ужасно звучит. Всё время какие-то призвуки и звук грубый и всё ещё в ноты нужно попасть а ладов нету. 4:18
