Thanks Jon, glad you liked it. This was my first long canoe trip for over a year I think my mood of relief and percolated through the trip and through the videos. One more to go! 😀
Thanks Derek, I have been thinking of doing a video about pictographs for a while now I want to get the cultural sensitivity right - I got lucky with the turtles! I felt like this video was 'story time' I love it when it comes together like that. 😀
Very cool guys. We paddled down Quetico Lake in late July last year and saw only one other group on the whole stretch down to Jean. One group on Burntside. None on Sturgeon. Crazy. Nice canoe...SRQ16? Curious about your yoke pad...are those better than the rectangular ones that attach with wingnuts? At least it looks lighter and lower profile.
Yes, I believe it is. It is the perfect pad for a light boat like this one. On my older and heavier boat I prefer the thicker double pads bolted onto the thwart.
OH! So us "cross border" Yankees from the South don't know how to canoe? Alright hosers! I see how this channel works.. lol :) Aside from the wind, that trip looked SO much fun. :)
I hope you are kidding. I don't think I said anything about American's not knowing how to canoe. Just that it was a good time to visit this corner of the part that is normally much more busy.
If parks made this island off limits for camping I think that would be ok. Sure you were a thoughtful camper, but unfortunately not everyone is so careful.
Very cool! We experienced the same type of turtle Island on the north side of Quetico. And I don't want to be a negative Nelly but are you allowed to fly drones in the park and film the pictographs? Feel free to delete this message if you feel I'm a troll :)
@@joelandjessiesymonds No worries, I am not trying to make a statement here but if Ont. Parks wants to make drones illegal they simply need to make a regulation change, but they should also work with Transport Canada to make it restricted airspace the way National Parks are. I brought the drone only because we didn't expect to see people. Normally in a busy park I don't bother bringing it.
Another great episode. Really enjoying the vibe, pace, and format of these...very digestible.

I just came for the turtles.
Not disappointed.
LOL, good. They made our day.
Turtle island! What a great discovery 🐢
It was a pretty cool find!
So cool with the pictographs and the turtles :)
Thanks, I was glad I could make a couple of nice little stories out of them both.
Awesome! Turtles are my favorite animal. I definitely want to visit the island!
It was a cool find.
It's so nice now that restrictions are lifting and we can get out there and enjoy the outdoors. 🙂
Absolutely!
I am really enjoying this series.
Thanks Stephen!
Excellent trip, glad there was no capsize practice!
Yes,Craig, that would not have been good! 😀
Good morning from Melbourne, now 00:55 watching the Tour de France 🇫🇷 and now watching your video.
Morning! Small world isn't it?
Boy, that wind looked wicked Kevin! Glad to see it die off and not last for days. Looking forward to the rest of this series.
It was pretty wild. When we were in the roughest stuff I didn't want to let go of my paddle for just a second to start the GoPro.
This guy is awesome.
Thanks Jojo!
I love how you are always educating us, and teaching the history of the area 😊

The turtle situation on that island and your explanation was perfect, how cool is that ! Nature at work ! Wonderful
That was really cool to find and observe.
This video deserves so many more views! Turtles laying eggs??
Yes they absolutely were. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Very cool. COVID has been terrible but it has been a good time to visit otherwise busy parks like Quetico.
I like your yoke pad, is that from Level six ? I’ve had my eye on that ! Cheers

@@KevinOutdoors great, thank you !

@@KevinOutdoors LOL I was totally joking. We're not bombing Canada ....yet...

It is a unique little spot for sure.

Hi Joel, I left a comment in the description about the use of drones.
@@KevinOutdoors thanks for the explanation Kevin! You're one of the most thoughtful people I know, so I should have assumed the best of you :)
