Because my nature calls for free-hand in practically everything, I have the greatest respect and awe for Susan's calm method here. The beautiful result may inspire me to slow down and create more intentionally. Thank you!
This is beautiful. Your dots really stand out. Thank you for putting the color and tool size in the video space at the top. It is great to be able to see that in writing, it is sometimes hard for the hearing impaired to watch the closed captions and what the teacher is doing at the same time, so it really helps how you do it. Great teacher, thank you. 5 stars
Thank you. I have another canvas lined up to do. But hubby is home on holidays so it may be a couple of weeks before I can have piece and quiet to start on it 😂
Как всегда - великолепно!!! И даже наблюдать за процессом создания - огромное удовольствие! С этим видео у меня получилось включить субтитры. Жаль, что нельзя смотреть большие видео с субтитрами.
@@nirvana5467 oh sì mi piacerebbe tornarci. Potrebbero volerci alcuni anni prima di poterlo di nuovo. C'erano così tanti posti che volevo ancora visitare. Obiettivi futuri.🥰
Awesome tutorial, would you consider possible have video's filmed a little closer to your project? By any chance! I truly enjoy your videos. Being a newbie, I finally have all the tools, paints, to get started.
Thank you Sheila . It’s definitely hard to get the balance of zooming in and also keeping the project in view. I think on an iPad type device you can zoom in a bit. And also make sure to watch in a full screen view :) I’ll try to do more zoom in scenes when it is needed for detailed placements :) Glad you are all set and ready to go ! Have fun and just enjoy the process .
I love your work Susan... I just moved from Victoria.. dang it - would have been great to meet you. Thanks so much for putting all the sizes in your video... really helpful. I don't do 'the rocks' so having videos on canvas are GREAT. You have such a fabulous sense of color combinations.. So very pretty - all of them. ; - }
Thank you so much! How could anyone move away from here lol I have a canvas prepped to do a new tutorial …just need time. All the patterns I make can easily be adapted to a canvas .
This piece is a beautiful jewel! Your instructions are clear and concise - and thank you for using text on the screen to list tool size. 👍🏼 The music is lovely and calming but 36 minutes of the same song was a bit much. Didn't want to miss important instructions by turning volume down. If it's an option, would be nice to have a few different songs play. Overall, an excellent tutorial!😊
Thank you for the feedback it does help. The music thing is such a pain for me lol the program I use causes copyright infringement notices even though I pay for them …and very little selection and many say no music . So I am leaning towards that …one day I’ll figure it out. But would rather be painting lol! Again thank you much appreciated. 🥰
another great tutorial THANK YOU . I notice you are using a turntable. do you find that continually turning the work makes good spacing easier to achieve?
May I ask a question? I am starting to do the grid lines for this design and I don't have the right stencil, so I am making my own. My question is how many inches apart are each of the circle gridlines? I see there are nine circles, are they evenly spaced? Thank you so much in advance.
They are half inch spaces. My stencil from the Happy Dotting company only did so far so I used a compass to do the others. It’s mainly just to keep things in line and to help you see where the dots could go.
I've watched this video so many times - it's just mesmerizing & your skill is amazing ❤ I can't figure out, though, after you shape the light blue swoosh, you use the larger white dotting tool to even it out? But, how do you avoid smudging the sapphire dots on the side?
I love this SO much and want to give it a try. When I clicked the link on the 12" stencil - HDC says it's not for US shipment. HDC has another pack of 4 stencils but I'm not sure it will go out to 12". Would a stencil for 8" canvas still work? Would we just carry the lines/grids out on our own ... maybe with a ruler?? Thank you.
If you want to use a stencil it really does not matter what size it is once you have the Center marked out. Just extend the lines with a ruler and I also use a compass. I have many different sizes but that was my biggest , I now have a 12 inch one for my bigger canvas :) I am not an affiliate of any company so my links may need further research if you live somewhere else :)
@@SusanNelsonCreations Thank you Susan. I see a few options with 4 stencils, so I figured I could carry the lines out with a ruler - thanks for confirming. I forget not EVERYONE is here in the US! :) Thank you for one of the most beautiful art pieces I've seen. So much so... I have all my supplies (well.. except the stencil) - and hopefully, I can put it on my wall in my office!

Susan if I was going to try to do this mandala on a 4or 5 inch rock how big a difference I wonder would I have to make in the tool size?

Question: the canvas is 12 x 12, but the stencil is 8 x 8”. Is that the correct stencil? Thanks
It’s the size that I have, so I just extend the lines . I just got a new one that is 12x12 so will use that for my next one :)
