- This step by step tutorial will show you how to dot paint a brightly colored manila with acrylic paint on a 12x12 canvas. I designed this mandala using the vibrant colors of the island of Kauai in pineapple yellow, ocean turquoise, poinciana orange, blue ginger, plumeria pink, leaf green and passion fruit flower purple. It is intermediate in difficulty. All tools and paints are listed below.

12x12 canvas "Master's Touch" from Hobby Lobby
ruler
General's Charcoal white pencil
small paint brushes for mixing colors
10 well plastic paint palette
12 piece set of dotting tools from Mark's Mandalas:

Liquitex gloss pouring medium (to thin paints)
Paints used:
Martha Stewart acrylic's:
Beetle Black, Wedding cake white, Indigo blue, Purple Gerbera pearl, Pumpkin orange
DecoArt Americana:
Peacock teal, Purple Pizzaz, Primary yellow
Golden Fluid:
Phthalo blue (green shade). Phthalo Green, Cobalt Blue, Hansa Yellow, Magenta
Artists Loft Professional High Viscosity acrylic:
Brilliant Yellow green, Turquoise Green, Cadmium Red

Hi Kristen, a question for you if you please..I did a beautiful canvas and thought I would epoxy it to see how it would come out..
Mostly successful, however there are a few spots that didn't cover well enough, is it OK to mix a small amount and fill thoes places in at this point? It's dry..the places are pea size.

Of ALL the canvas's I've seen - THIS is the best by far. I want to do this one SO badly! I look at the colors mentioned... and read the list, and the colors you say confuse me a bit. You mentioned green - yet there's Phthalo blue (green shade) Phthalo green, brilliant yellow green and turquoise green - so how would we know which green?? You also mention mango - yet mango isn't listed below. HELP!
