One of my favorite things to do as a kid was write letters to Hollyweird celebrities and ask for autographs. Back when the show was on, I wrote letters to Kate, Farrah, Jaclyn & David (Bosley) asking for autographs. Out of the 4, the only one to write me back was Jaclyn Smith. It is a color picture of her and a bunny rabbit and she wrote the nicest note to me on the back of it and signed the front. She was always my favorite Angel after that.😁💗
But Cheryl Ladd was an awesome replacement for her - playing the kid sister to her angel character. Watch their scenes together when Farrah made her 6 guest appearances. Their chemistry was dead on being sibling Angels. Farrah truly captured the essence of what a Charlie's Angel should be. But I'm glad they made each angel different😇😇😇!

Cherly Ladd was the butt of jokes on "Cybil" the sitcom starring Cybil Sheppard. Cherly will forever be best known as the actress that replaced Farrah Fawcett. Her career never really went anywhere and by the 90's TV film Gigs stopped. Same with Jackie Smith. She kept the $$$ coming in with her K-Mart clothing line.

7 years after leaving Charlie's Angels Ryan O'Neal thought it would be a good idea for them to go to the 1984 Olympics to watch the boxing...she was afraid of being recognized and he told her to put on her sunglasses..upon entry into the stadium where the athletes were boxing she was instantly recognized and the crowd went wild and they had to stop the match as EVERYONE was chanting "FARRAH, FARRAH, FARRAH...." ...she raised her hands and calmed the crowd and thus the match could continue....The phenomenon lived on!!!!!

Loved Kate Jackson. She was beautiful and smart. Bree could solve those capers with style! Although Kate hated the storylines too. She was great in Scarecrow and Mrs. King. Her and Bruce had such great chemistry.
Who could blame her for not wanting to play a ditzy blonde for the rest of her career. She was amazing in my books to have stood up to the misogyny in Hollywood at that time. The script was so cringe worthy and she was a woman of substance. She was blackballed in that town because the disgusting men who ran the industry and still do to this day made sure she was not going to become a success. If there had been more women in charge behind the scenes you can bet she would have done seriously well. I still loved all three women equally including the new addition they were all talented and each bought something unique to the table. What was not unique or talented was the male driven egos that still to this day run that industry. I hope eventually those dinosaurs are run out and most of those seats are replaced with more diversity in terms of those running the show. Rip Farrah.

FF was 'Charlie's Angels'! Although Cheryl Ladd had big shoes to fill, her beauty helped to continue the feminine mystic associated with what we use to call 'jiggle TV' after Farrah departed the show. For those six guest starring episodes, Farrah was reportedly paid a million dollars for each appearance. Plus on her second independent film, 'Sunburn', she was paid 150 times her salary for Charlie's Angels. Yet it wasn't until 'The Burning Bed' that she broke through and became the talented actress we knew she always was. RIP angel.
They didn’t release Kate Jackson to do Kramer versus Kramer so they probably wouldn’t have let Farrah do films either. Spelling Goldberg just wanted to dictate what they all did, own them. I loved all them.
They had Contracts, Farrah bailed on the show that made her famous, Kate was a pain in the ass to work with, she got Cocky because she couldn't do a movie, Jaclyn was the only one who honored her contract
The show was never the same after Farrah was gone. I stand by her decision to leave. She left for good reasons. She went on to do the Burning Bed and Extremities and proved she was an extremely talented actress. Her only mistake in life was meeting Ryan O'Neil.
All 3 were equally beautiful. I could never adjust to Cheryl Ladd as her replacement even thou she did well. The 3 orginal were my favourite equally for didderent reason. It was the first and only show I ever remember where all 3 stars were not only equally beautiful, but all 3 had lovely soft spoken, very femanent voices... Loved it... 💜💜💜
I was 11 years old and lived in an orphanage the year the Farrah poster came out. I don't remember how we got it but even we orphan boys had the poster up on our wall. I was fascinated with her before I knew who she was. We weren't allowed to watch T.V. in the orphanage so I didn't know anything about Charlie's Angels until years later, but even now when I see her in movies like Logans Run, or on old shows like the Angels, I still feel that adolescent pain inside from admiring what I thought was the most beautiful girl.
Farrah's big screen career was barely a blip on the radar and quickly fizzled out. So she settled for tv movies and mini series. IMO, she should have remained on CA and rode it out for all it was worth. The continuous publicity and notoriety would have been worth it. Her career overall took a nosedive once she left CA.
Jaclyn was probably the prettiest. But Farrah had something you just can't buy and that's charisma. You either have it or you don't. Strangely when you look at he photos of the three of them, she almost looks masculine but I remember the furore she caused at that time. We just loved her, wanted to be her. Personalities like her come along once in....I can't even recall someone who had the same effect. She was a phenomena. No one had a bad word to say about her. I literally cannot think of anyone since who had that effect on both men and women.

Kate Jackson did Thin Ice, Adrift, Empty Cradle and The Stranger Within. Jaclyn Smith did Déjà Vu and In The Arms Of A Killer and Night Kill. Cheryl Ladd did Death In California & Vows Of Deception. Shelley Hack did Blind Fear and Single Bars, Single Women. Tanya Roberts did Force Entry and Legal Tender. Brilliant movies and it was nice seeing them in series films.

Farrah was "Charlie's angels" and she made more money even though she left that first year then all the angels including Kate Jackson and Jacklyn smith. The terms of the out of court settlement where she agreed to return for 6 episodes as a guest star spread out over season 3 & 4 (Farrah did not appear on season 5) she was paid $250,00.00 per episode which at that time was the highest of any female guest star. Farrah's replacement Cherly Ladd was paid $15,00.00 per episode after season 3. When she started she was brought in $5,00.00 per episode. No one knew for sure viewers would accept her replacing Farrah but they did immediately. Farrah is the ONLY angel to be nominated for a Emmy award outside of the show not once but twice. Kate Jackson was nominated for her work on 'Charlie's angel's" but lost twice. Farrah was nominated for a best actress Emmy award for her work o "The burning bed". She should have won but she did not. She was again nominated 2 years later for "Small sacrifices" but again lost.
Farrah was famous because of her hair and Texas sunshine blonde beauty. Her fans LOVED her in a particular way. The "Jill Munroe" way. Ditzy, cute and beaming blonde personality. She was an instant phenomenon but I knew it was going to be short-lived. That poster showed her nipples through the one-piece bikini and that's all it took for every young man and horny teen boy to take notice. Farrah considered herself a serious actress but with all that hair and beaming blonde personality she was Never going to shake the Charlies Angels stigma. Spelling and Goldberg should've known how she was going to turn out BEFORE they hired her to play "Jill Munroe". When she decided to leave the show it was really the beginning of the end of the phenomenon. No one wanted her to play serious roles (Burning Bed) because she was just too pretty for her own good. Her light shined bright for only a short time after she left the show. She was more of a distraction to the show than anything else. She could've stayed and negotiated her contract in soo many different ways. She had the leverage to do so but she wanted more and unfortunately it just didn't work out that way.

Farrah walked anyway from the "Charlie's angels" saying she there was no signed contract which us the truth as Farrah had put out the famous red swimsuit poster a year before "Charlie's angels". Spelling wanted a percentage of the profit from.that poster and Farrah said NO! It was a source of contention thus no agreement had been reached. Possibly a iral agreement but nothing signed. They sued her which drug out over the next year and a half before an out of court agreement was reached where Farrah would return to "Charlie's angels" as a guest star for 6 appearances over the next 2 years to be filmed at Farrah's convenience as she was working on her fim career by this time. Farrah was paid $600,00.00 an episode which at that time time was enormous. Her salary the first year with the show was $5,00.00 an spisode. That was also co-star Jacklyn Smith's salary that first season. They were both cast but both mostly unknown actresses. Farrah actually made mire money the full 5 years the series aired then any of the other actresses who worked on the show even after quiting. She also retained the full tights and ownership of that world famous red swimsuit post which to date is the highest selling poster of any female. After the success of that poster every actress in Hollywood put out sexy posters including Farrah's replacement on "Charlie's angels" Cherly Ladd ONLY Spelling made sure he got a chunk of the profits of any posters the stars of his programs put out. He learned from Farrah. Cast as the dumb sexy air head blond on "Charlie's angels" was not who Fardah Fawcett was in real life. She was quite the business savy actress protecting her $$$ and her work from greedy producers like Aaron Spelling who really did his best to ruin Farrah after she walked away from "Charlie's angels". He did do a lot of damage but Farrah eventually moved passed all that in 1983 with the success of "The burning bed". Farrah was nominated for a best actress Emmy award for that role and should have won. That wss the first of 3 Emmy nominated roles on television films and/or mini series Farrah starred in.

Farrah was getting better offers because of her being the new IT girl. Looking back at these shows, Kate could ACT. Jaclyn was learning fast and FF was pure eye candy. I also think the unspoken thing is FF did not like being one of three.

FF was 'Charlie's Angels'! Although Cheryl Ladd had big shoes to fill, her beauty helped to continue the feminine mystic associated with what we use to call 'jiggle TV' after Farrah departed the show.
For those six guest starring episodes, Farrah was reportedly paid a million dollars for each appearance. Plus on her second independent film, 'Sunburn', she was paid 150 times her salary for Charlie's Angels.
Yet it wasn't until 'The Burning Bed' that she broke through and became the talented actress we knew she always was. RIP angel.

They didn’t release Kate Jackson to do Kramer versus Kramer so they probably wouldn’t have let Farrah do films either. Spelling Goldberg just wanted to dictate what they all did, own them. I loved all them.
Spelling Goldberg did allow Farrah to do films. They begged her to come back.
They had Contracts, Farrah bailed on the show that made her famous, Kate was a pain in the ass to work with, she got Cocky because she couldn't do a movie, Jaclyn was the only one who honored her contract
The show was never the same after Farrah was gone.
I stand by her decision to leave. She left for good reasons. She went on to do the Burning Bed and Extremities and proved she was an extremely talented actress. Her only mistake in life was meeting Ryan O'Neil.
All 3 were equally beautiful. I could never adjust to Cheryl Ladd as her replacement even thou she did well. The 3 orginal were my favourite equally for didderent reason. It was the first and only show I ever remember where all 3 stars were not only equally beautiful, but all 3 had lovely soft spoken, very femanent voices... Loved it...

I was 11 years old and lived in an orphanage the year the Farrah poster came out. I don't remember how we got it but even we orphan boys had the poster up on our wall. I was fascinated with her before I knew who she was. We weren't allowed to watch T.V. in the orphanage so I didn't know anything about Charlie's Angels until years later, but even now when I see her in movies like Logans Run, or on old shows like the Angels, I still feel that adolescent pain inside from admiring what I thought was the most beautiful girl.

Farrah's big screen career was barely a blip on the radar and quickly fizzled out. So she settled for tv movies and mini series. IMO, she should have remained on CA and rode it out for all it was worth. The continuous publicity and notoriety would have been worth it. Her career overall took a nosedive once she left CA.

Jaclyn was probably the prettiest. But Farrah had something you just can't buy and that's charisma. You either have it or you don't. Strangely when you look at he photos of the three of them, she almost looks masculine but I remember the furore she caused at that time. We just loved her, wanted to be her. Personalities like her come along once in....I can't even recall someone who had the same effect. She was a phenomena. No one had a bad word to say about her. I literally cannot think of anyone since who had that effect on both men and women.

Farrah was enormously famous between 1976-1978 after that certain career choices turned fan's off. The first year of "Charlie's angel's" was by far the best of the attire series. Farrah was "Charlie's angels" and she made more money even though she left that first year then all the angels including Kate Jackson and Jacklyn smith. The terms of the out of court settlement where she agreed to return for 6 episodes as a guest star spread out over season 3 & 4 (Farrah did not appear on season 5) she was paid $250,00.00 per episode which at that time was the highest of any female guest star. Farrah's replacement Cherly Ladd was paid $15,00.00 per episode after season 3. When she started she was brought in $5,00.00 per episode. No one knew for sure viewers would accept her replacing Farrah but they did immediately. Farrah is the ONLY angel to be nominated for a Emmy award outside of the show not once but twice. Kate Jackson was nominated for her work on 'Charlie's angel's" but lost twice. Farrah was nominated for a best actress Emmy award for her work o "The burning bed". She should have won but she did not. She was again nominated 2 years later for "Small sacrifices" but again lost.
Farrah was famous because of her hair and Texas sunshine blonde beauty. Her fans LOVED her in a particular way. The "Jill Munroe" way. Ditzy, cute and beaming blonde personality. She was an instant phenomenon but I knew it was going to be short-lived. That poster showed her nipples through the one-piece bikini and that's all it took for every young man and horny teen boy to take notice. Farrah considered herself a serious actress but with all that hair and beaming blonde personality she was Never going to shake the Charlies Angels stigma. Spelling and Goldberg should've known how she was going to turn out BEFORE they hired her to play "Jill Munroe". When she decided to leave the show it was really the beginning of the end of the phenomenon. No one wanted her to play serious roles (Burning Bed) because she was just too pretty for her own good. Her light shined bright for only a short time after she left the show. She was more of a distraction to the show than anything else. She could've stayed and negotiated her contract in soo many different ways. She had the leverage to do so but she wanted more and unfortunately it just didn't work out that way.

All kinds of offers came in for more film roles but Farrah had the series "Charlie's angels" to do or did she? After a ratings crushing year since the lilit first aired in early 1976 "Charlie's angels" was the hottest new series on television! The summer reruns did better then when they first aired in the previous fall season. Farrah became the break out star of the series surpassing her co-stars level. For Kate Jackson that had to sting a little since the series was development mostly for her having worked on another Spelling/Goldberg series "The rookies". Farrah truly liked her co-stars and that made her uneasy & uncomfortable. Farrah walked anyway from the "Charlie's angels" saying she there was no signed contract which us the truth as Farrah had put out the famous red swimsuit poster a year before "Charlie's angels". Spelling wanted a percentage of the profit from.that poster and Farrah said NO! It was a source of contention thus no agreement had been reached. Possibly a iral agreement but nothing signed. They sued her which drug out over the next year and a half before an out of court agreement was reached where Farrah would return to "Charlie's angels" as a guest star for 6 appearances over the next 2 years to be filmed at Farrah's convenience as she was working on her fim career by this time. Farrah was paid $600,00.00 an episode which at that time time was enormous. Her salary the first year with the show was $5,00.00 an spisode. That was also co-star Jacklyn Smith's salary that first season. They were both cast but both mostly unknown actresses. Farrah actually made mire money the full 5 years the series aired then any of the other actresses who worked on the show even after quiting. She also retained the full tights and ownership of that world famous red swimsuit post which to date is the highest selling poster of any female. After the success of that poster every actress in Hollywood put out sexy posters including Farrah's replacement on "Charlie's angels" Cherly Ladd ONLY Spelling made sure he got a chunk of the profits of any posters the stars of his programs put out. He learned from Farrah. Cast as the dumb sexy air head blond on "Charlie's angels" was not who Fardah Fawcett was in real life. She was quite the business savy actress protecting her $$$ and her work from greedy producers like Aaron Spelling who really did his best to ruin Farrah after she walked away from "Charlie's angels". He did do a lot of damage but Farrah eventually moved passed all that in 1983 with the success of "The burning bed". Farrah was nominated for a best actress Emmy award for that role and should have won. That wss the first of 3 Emmy nominated roles on television films and/or mini series Farrah starred in.

When Farrah Fawcett left _Charlie's Angels_ in 1977, another blonde star was rising to international fame - *Debbie Harry.* The producers of _Charlie's Angels_ knew that Farrah Fawcett would have to be seen regularly and often to stay relevant. She let fame and her overnight international stardom go to her head. She thought she was bigger than the show that made her famous and that's why she demanded more money. Her poster probably graced the bedroom walls of pubescent boys long after she was relevant. It's sad that she will only ever be known for one season of _Charlie's Angels_ and her swimsuit poster by one or two generations of people, but she learnt the hard way that it takes more than a fluffy blonde hairstyle to stay relevant amongst fans and, if it wasn't for the fact that she was blonde, she wouldn't have grabbed all of the attention from male fans. Jaclyn Smith had bigger breasts and was probably more of a classic beauty than Farrah Fawcett, but as a brunette, she didn't stand out amongst the crowd and despite the fact that they didn't get the same amount of publicity, _Charlie's Angels_ continued to be a success despite Farrah's departure, only ending four years later in 1981. Farrah thought she was the biggest star of the show. She thought wrong and was badly advised about her career by those around her. Blonde celebrities are only relevant until the next blonde celebrity comes along. She would have been overshadowed anyway when the band _Blondie_ gained international fame in 1977.

Her career never did shine as brightly after she left . Her looks went downhill after that also . Everything she acted in was so depressing. It would not have killed her to stay on the show for 5 years! It did however hurt her career! She always seemed a has been after she left the show!

In fairness to FF her looks changed a number of years after CA. I remember seeing Farrah on the Arsenio Hall show in her late forties and she still looked great. It was important to her to study and get better with her acting. And she did that. In 1983 she was nominated for an Emmy for her "Burning Bed" role. And she did some other serious roles where she did very well. A "has been" is a little strong.

Farrah was getting better offers because of her being the new IT girl. Looking back at these shows, Kate could ACT. Jaclyn was learning fast and FF was pure eye candy. I also think the unspoken thing is FF did not like being one of three.
