Cheryl didnt get 100% sign off that she had a job until they filmed this opening S2 scene weeks later.
Because Aaron Spelling and Leonard Goldberg had taken Farrah Fawcett to court hoping to get her back on the show fulltime (which didn't happen). When that failed, Ladd was then given the fulltime go ahead to replace her The matter with Farrah was eventually settled as she was given (a then whooping) $150,000 per guest appearance over the course of the show's third and fourth seasons.......
When Kate Jackson left, Cheryl Ladd and Jaclyn Smith were not able to carry the show. And the replacements didn't work either. Kate Jackson was irreplaceable. No one could have replaced her. Spelling/Goldberg were so freaking desperate LOL.

To be honest my favorite Charlie Angels were Kelly, Kris, Julie, now you all can get mad but here's why no offense to Sabrina, when Charlie gives the Angels assignments and who usually doesn't the karate kicks or defends themselves more Kelly, Kris, Jill, and Julie, Sabrina in a way can't fight. Sabrina can used a gun but to defend herself I don't think so. I liked Kris she kind of had Jill's personality in the group. Julie may have been a model but she is a good detective and Angel. I kind of figured Sabrina and Kris didn't get along in real life that probably explains why she never made any guess appearance on the show liked Jill did and Tiffany at onetime did. They could of brought Jill, Tiffany and Sabrina back when everyone thought that Kelly was going to die of that gunshot wound to the head remember in that last episode or series? I know what you mean about the original character sometimes when you replace someone thinking it will better it's not the same just like on the series Alice when the writers was trying to replace Flo with two other blind haired women. I liked Flo both women was trying to act like Flo.
Sabrina was a tough and effective fighter and kicked bad guys butt. Many times. In the most convincing way compared to the others. And Kate didn't need a double for that. That's the difference.
From my understanding Kate Jackson didn't like Cheryl Ladd. Kate did a good job of not letting it show though on the show. I never knew and I always watched this show.

I think it had to do with poor Cheryl having some big shoes to fill and Kate didn't think Cheryl was doing a very good job. First fell for her as an 8 yr old watching the movie of the week Satan's School For Girls 1973. She only had a small part, but I was mesmerized. Then a year later she played a movie star on Happy Days and then when she walked through that door a few years later I was so happy.

Kate Jackson was the best Angel, the creative force behind the show. She invented it. She was also the most gorgeous and charismatic angel. And guess what happened when she left the show. It jumped the shark! Third banana Smith couldn't save it. Neither could tacky bikini Ladd. The others that followed were irrelevant. And btw, phenom Farrah was replaceable. Of course only because Kate was still in the lead when Ladd joined them. Barbie's never made the show. It was the amazing Kate, Ms. Jackson if you're nasty!
I find it fkd up that when pop culture refers to Charlie’s Angels in most cases Cheryl gets excluded, portraying only original 3. Cheryl saved this show from the cataclysmic blow by Farrah’s departure. Cheryl IS one of the originals.
Cheryl replacing the one and only Farrah only worked because Kate was still on the show. It was different with Kate. No one could fill her shoes. Kate was the glue that held it together. The show never recovered from Kate's departure. Cheryl could not save it. She was fourth banana. And after two years she became second banana. But the show was nothing without Kate and Farrah. The original Angels made the show. All the others will always be replacements.
The arrival of Cheryl Ladd revitalized the series with a new angel. Kris Munroe has always been my favorite angel !! 😍😍 Farrah Faxcett “Jill Munroe” will return to make a few appearances. 👍👍

Cheryl Ladd was to "Charlie's Angels" as Cindy Birdsong was to "The Supremes" as Jennilee Harrison was to "Three's Company." Strong lookalikes and as close to the original as you can get which was the intended purpose.
Well, not so much in Jennilee Harrison's case. They gave Jennilee the boot (that was so f-up, I liked Cindy too) for another blond the following season. They try to hype up Priscilla Barnes (who's character Terry was not funny in my opinion), who they thought would be bigger or the next "Suzanne Sommers" but that didn't happen and rightfully so.

I wasn't overjoyed, but I liked Cheryl Ladd. She did a decent job. But there was just no replacing for Farrah---she was so good in the show. Shame she left so early. I think in hindsight it was a career mistake. She should have stayed for at least 3 seasons. I'm watching CA re-runs now and you know what, the show holds up still. It's actually a really good, entertaining show. At least Seasons 1 & 2 are. The first pilot episode is surprisingly REALLY well done 👏

To be honest my favorite Charlie Angels were Kelly, Kris, Julie, now you all can get mad but here's why no offense to Sabrina, when Charlie gives the Angels assignments and who usually doesn't the karate kicks or defends themselves more Kelly, Kris, Jill, and Julie, Sabrina in a way can't fight. Sabrina can used a gun but to defend herself I don't think so. I liked Kris she kind of had Jill's personality in the group. Julie may have been a model but she is a good detective and Angel. I kind of figured Sabrina and Kris didn't get along in real life that probably explains why she never made any guess appearance on the show liked Jill did and Tiffany at onetime did. They could of brought Jill, Tiffany and Sabrina back when everyone thought that Kelly was going to die of that gunshot wound to the head remember in that last episode or series? I know what you mean about the original character sometimes when you replace someone thinking it will better it's not the same just like on the series Alice when the writers was trying to replace Flo with two other blind haired women. I liked Flo both women was trying to act like Flo.
Sabrina was a tough and effective fighter and kicked bad guys butt. Many times. In the most convincing way compared to the others. And Kate didn't need a double for that. That's the difference.

From my understanding Kate Jackson didn't like Cheryl Ladd. Kate did a good job of not letting it show though on the show. I never knew and I always watched this show.
How come she didn't like her?
@@msrain1235 I don't remember what the behind the show biography I saw said or I read it somewhere. Maybe you can find it? I think it had to do with poor Cheryl having some big shoes to fill and Kate didn't think Cheryl was doing a very good job. Or maybe Kate was just jealous of Cheryl because Cheryl became really popular herself. I liked Cheryl a lot. Still do. Cheryl is very beautiful and she shined as bright as Farrah did on Charlie's Angels.

Cheryl was tailored made for the role
First fell for her as an 8 yr old watching the movie of the week Satan's School For Girls 1973. She only had a small part, but I was mesmerized. Then a year later she played a movie star on Happy Days and then when she walked through that door a few years later I was so happy.
Never watched Charlie's Angles wasn't born yet but enjoyed that movie Ladd did with Ken Whal called Purple Hearts it was awesome!!!

Cheryl was my favorite by far. She wore satin and especially satin jackets, a large part of my younger life's infatuations.
I don't know what happened with the girls in real life, I only know that they were very charismatic and had a unique chemistry.

Seemed like Kate was the least famous angel because she wasn’t considered as sexy as the other two. Loved her in Scarecrow and Mrs. King tv show.
She was not the kind of lady most guys would pursue.

Kate Jackson was the best Angel, the creative force behind the show. She invented it. She was also the most gorgeous and charismatic angel. And guess what happened when she left the show. It jumped the shark! Third banana Smith couldn't save it. Neither could tacky bikini Ladd. The others that followed were irrelevant. And btw, phenom Farrah was replaceable. Of course only because Kate was still in the lead when Ladd joined them. Barbie's never made the show. It was the amazing Kate, Ms. Jackson if you're nasty!
I find it fkd up that when pop culture refers to Charlie’s Angels in most cases Cheryl gets excluded, portraying only original 3.
Cheryl saved this show from the cataclysmic blow by Farrah’s departure.
Cheryl IS one of the originals.
Cheryl replacing the one and only Farrah only worked because Kate was still on the show. It was different with Kate. No one could fill her shoes. Kate was the glue that held it together. The show never recovered from Kate's departure. Cheryl could not save it. She was fourth banana. And after two years she became second banana. But the show was nothing without Kate and Farrah. The original Angels made the show. All the others will always be replacements.

Cheryl Ladd was to "Charlie's Angels" as Cindy Birdsong was to "The Supremes" as Jennilee Harrison was to "Three's Company." Strong lookalikes and as close to the original as you can get which was the intended purpose.
Well, not so much in Jennilee Harrison's case. They gave Jennilee the boot (that was so f-up, I liked Cindy too) for another blond the following season. They try to hype up Priscilla Barnes (who's character Terry was not funny in my opinion), who they thought would be bigger or the next "Suzanne Sommers" but that didn't happen and rightfully so.
@@MrJuly1990ish Don't forget too that Cindy was Chrissy's little sister like Kris was Jill's little sister. Not the case with Cindy Birdsong though. Berry Gordy and Motown for months didn't even announce the change and the public was duped except for die-hard fans.

Cheryl was way better than Farrah. Farrah didn't even want to be on the show, which is why she left after only one season.

The new girl was sweet but they gave her such a hard time. She said in her interview that Bosley was so kind but the women were not so nice.

I'm from Asia and they already aired the first 2 Seasons of Charlie's Angels on a channel called HITS.
Her first day, she wore a T-shirt that said Farrah Fawcett Minor.
She won them over with the t shirt.
I wasn't overjoyed, but I liked Cheryl Ladd. She did a decent job. But there was just no replacing for Farrah---she was so good in the show. Shame she left so early. I think in hindsight it was a career mistake. She should have stayed for at least 3 seasons.
I'm watching CA re-runs now and you know what, the show holds up still. It's actually a really good, entertaining show. At least Seasons 1 & 2 are. The first pilot episode is surprisingly REALLY well done 👏
