@@BearfootMiniatures Just yesterday my Gal Vorbak went into the remaining 16 of a 20-strong tactical blob. Sergeant accepted the challenge, so there were 15 others. I did 15 wounds, but because the tacticals were clumped 4 deep, 5 got to live and fight back. They ultimately got swept, and I guess makes for a thematic scene of those Imperial Fists running at these abominations wave after wave and getting cut to pieces, but feels so very different from playing either AoS and 40k.
I think the Gorgons could perhaps benefit from a buff that's like "Enemy shooting attacks suffer a minus 1 to hit" and then you tie the blind check to this.
Take another look at the despoiler squad for Iron Hands. You can give the Sgt double grav pistol, and 4 guys with grav pistols plus the moritat' double grav pistol. 12 grav pistols should do something for you.
As a very long time IH player I have managed to make a list fitting in 20 Gorgons and another with 60 Immortals (CoBI ftw!) but for fluff reasons I can never bring myself to get/take Ferrus :(. Loved this breakdown, thank you.
Cheers mate! Glad you enjoyed it! That list sounds a really thematic list, love the concept! (and good stuff on the ferrus-less list on fluff reasons, I dont have perty for a similar reason, I have my armies timeline and it doesnt cross Perty up to now so no Perty...)
Horus awarded a good portion of the Iron Hands Legion the honor of wearing his Eye on their armor during the great crusade because of how brutally effective they were. When Ferrus died, a lot of them saw that as the ultimate form of weakness and confided in Horus' strength instead .
You seemed to miss the Traitor Warlord trait giving an the unit the chance to do 2 reactions in 1 phase once per game (just not the same one twice), so potentially they could use the advanced reaction and also return fire normally, or overwatch and set to defend which is why it is limited to once per game. Also the Armatus Necrotechnika, you could only put it on a LoW with the Iron Hands legion key word, as the LoW is a separate detachment, so no giving it to a knight or any of the other non legion stuff, same way we can't give the LoW the Outflank from Head of the Gorgon since it isn't in the same detachment. My 1st thoughts were the Necrotech on an Outflanking Typhon to just barrel into the enemy with the fear bubble and cause chaos, but it has to start on the board :(
Ooooh ye massive spot on the double reaction The necro tech is such a head scratcher tbh: maybe if there’s a fearless militia unit or something like that, or shooting demon unit?
As a big fan of Gorgon Terminators- I agree they are definitely better off in a shooty role at WS 4. I probably wouldnt go Pf/LC just cuz of the points.
I really wish gorgons had battle hardened 1. Like, mathematically they are more durable than cataphractii against a lot of weapons but the few that instant death like lascannons are just so awful to deal with with gorgons, since at that point its as if you spent 200 points for bad indomitus termies. At least the kit is good for converting gorgon HQs to attach to indomitus termie squads
Hilarious that Ferrus is the best combat primarch, but the one time he faced another primarch without his hammer he got killed. Really, we all know the only thing that makes Ferrus dangerous is Forgebreaker.
As someone new to the game, this game seems extremely unbalanced. Most of the loyalist come out as just better than the traitors, Mechanicum, Solar…. Maybe I’ll wait for GW to actually try and balance this game a bit more. Maybe I’m wrong, but…
Having played solar a bunch they’re definately on a real up hill struggle against anything but a super tame Legion army, Traitor/loyalist marines I think the generics being shared keeps the traitors in it but I do think there’s a discrepancy Mech can be a bit savage with myrmadons But I’d recommend it as a game still though it has a nice flow to it and interesting interactions with the reactions
Great video guys, Ferrus is a beast. Also really good advice about keeping the primarch out of coherency in combat, I'm going to try that👍
Cheers mate! It’s 100% the dirtiest trick that you can’t even be mad at it’s just a well done
Silly question. Bit wouldn’t an opposition primarch just challenge you? Or can you simply refuse?
With the new FAQ, every independent character in Company of Bitter Iron is ALSO a Chaplain
That pile-in thing with primarchs is cheeky! The rules of how you get pull models and no longer be in combat are also wild.
oh mate 100% such a good trick hes come up with!

Ye maybe something like that cos they’re definitely not a competative coice compared to cataphractii or tarty atm!

Thanks for the video. Traitor Iron Hands is always a bit of a headscratch.
Ye, feels weird I agree… like loyalist night lords…

Medusa is a snake guys! That's where the scales come from!
It just felt kinda wierd to me; alpha legion being decorated with scales, and the protection is stuff hitting bionics isn’t it?!

It’s stacking up at that point I suppose, tbh Chris has ended up on fists and double LCs
Morlocks though: no wrong way to run them (well kinda)

Ye they need something, I know that’s the morlocks niche but the 5++ and blind has never worked for them tbh
Cant angron just spend one attack on the mook and the rest on Ferrus?

And he didn’t even forge forgebreaker!
In fairness, a daemon sword will tip the scales into warp shenanigans territory
I think that max str vs non vehicles is 10 is it not?
Eeeh I shall have to look this up: I’ve not fired anything higher than a lascannon yet tbh!
