Great vid! I would add how to check the oil on these things since it’s such a weird process. I was shocked when I learned about it. As you know if you check it the wrong way you will most likely overfill it which is really bad. Thanks Dan and keep up the good work!
I wouldn't say it's weird. It's pretty easy, but the steps matter. Here's the one for my 812. It's the same for the FF. 1. Switch on the air conditioning, set the temperature to LOW and the fan speed to MAX. 2. Check that the recirculation function is activated. 3. Run the engine until the engine oil temperature has reached 92 - 94 °C. 4. Run the engine at between 4000 and 4250 RPM for 1 minute. 5. Leave to idle for 2 minutes and then (before the 3rd minute elapses) check the oil level 6. Remove the filler cap A, remove the dipstick F and check the level: the level must be between the MIN and MAX notches on the dipstick. 7. If the level is low, top up with the recommended oil and make sure you do not fill beyond the MAX level on the dipstick. 8. Screw cap A back on tightly. After topping up, the “low oil level” symbol on the left TFT display may remain on for some time. This will allow the system to perform all the necessary checks. You should therefore consider this behaviour normal. 9. When you have added or changed the oil, check the oil level once again as indicated above. Important note If the oil is checked after 3 minutes, repeat stages 3. and 4. and check the level again. it tends to gather some attention lol. A noisy procedure.
Awesome Video! I am 100% on board with the GoPro. the image stabilization really adds quality to your video and I also notice that panning the camera is a lot smoother/slower/more detailed. - are you using an electronic gyroscope to help with this?
It's actually interesting to note that Ferrari has moved away from the 10W60 oils for the V12's. The TdF, 812 and Lusso take 5W40, or 5W30 for colder climates as per the manual. Oh, GoPro for me🙂
@@normalguysupercar Not sure. Better cooling perhaps or a change in bearing clearances. Those V12's makes a ton of heat. Have you checked the state of the battery by the way? The FF, Lusso and F12 cook the batteries like there's no tomorrow.
Great video Dan. I like the Go Pro better. Additionally, I like how you always blur out the speedometer, however, you might want to re-edit this video, you forgot the smaller speedometer that is on the left side screen. Screamin! LOL .... Craig from Indy
It's not worse than religion or politic. Everybody out there just have to understand that what I use is the right oil and every idiot who uses something else, is dead wrong and will blow up his car in less than a month😇🤣
Doesn’t anyone in Italy know how to weld? While perfectly fine, those welds look like I did them in my backyard with my alternator welder running off my IHC Scout!
Dan, you need to buy a Form A Funnel. It’ll prevent the oil mess on the crossmembers and control arms.
Oh shit nice! Just ordered one.
Thank you!
I really love FF's. The Italian clown shoe. Glad you all got one! This is one of my favorite cars of all time.
Yeah it's pretty crazy to have 650hp and 4 seats in a hatchback.
Sweeeeeet!!!! I’m an FF owner. Hopefully you’ll get to do more FF vids!!
Probably not right away as I'm hoping it sells soon.
Happy you guys got an FF...love those cars.
They are pretty cool
Nice job Dan! Love the shift lights!!
Thanks 👍
Hi Dan, great job. Thar lift was the best investment ever in the Garage. That FF sounds amazing.,.and yes the Go Pro works nice
Thanks 👍

Great video Dan that's the old school Dan I remember seeing great DIY! Thank you! Looking forward to more like this.
You bet

Nope, that's just the built in stabilization which is really quite impressive.
Waiting for the in-your-face oil splash :)
I've (barely) gotten smarter since then.
Saw the video with the EAG CEO...like that you guys are going to do a kit for the 355. Same for the Gallardo.
Yup!
Please have Meg review the FF. That would be epic. 😁
Ok
Ferrari family hauler review!
For sure. The best thing about a new car on the channel is the Meg review😀
Thanks Ricambi America for helping Dan
It's not sponsored. I paid for those parts but I like them
Ah, again it's the beautiful Ferrari Nomad !
Haha right?
I noticed the difference before you mentioned it, the GoPro is very nice!
Ok good. That seems to be the consensus
GoPro 👍
Ok I'll stick to GoPro
@@normalguysupercar Have you tried an iPhone?
Thanks for the tip brother
No problem 👍
Video quality using the GoPro seemed great👍🏼
Thank you
I use Liquid Molly 5w-30w in my BMW 760LI for 10 years with no issues
Good stuff
Dan, did you shorten the tube on your oil drain bucket? harbor freight bucket?
No it's adjustable
For having a ton of miles on that Ferrari, it still looks clean. What's the oem color?
Bianco Italia
That looks like an FF I have seen at various car shows in the Austin area.
It is
Also, BI was a VERY popular colour for that car. I believe it was one of the launch colours.
Ooofffff....thats so nice !!!
Yes it is.
Hey. If you had one choice, is it going to be the FF or the 458?
458
Dan , really interesting thank you !
My pleasure!
Hi Dan, the gopro doesn't bother me at all, it's even better than the Sony so go ahead man !
Thanks for the feedback. :)
Nice sound
Oh yeah
Great instructional video
Thank you
FFF-
Probably the most appropriate name for a Ferrari ever...
Lol
Why is the used oil black like when draining a diesel engine?
That's how pretty much all used oil looks
Great video
Is this Ferrari reliable?
I think so

The GoPro seems to be fine. If it’s easier and more convenient to use. GoPro👍
Ok good
Great tutorial on how much the dealership will charge you because of the cross bars being in tge way.
Oh I'm sure that's well over $500 at the dealerships.

Yeah not the best lol
It seems like you forgot to drain the oil cooler in the front.
I don't think that's necessary as it's higher than the drain pan
There is about 1/2 liter of oil left in the cooler. Official Ferrari procedure is to remove the two oil cooler lines and allow to drain.
I like how you call all your subscribers and viewers "youtube". I guess I've been called worse.
Well, it's accurate.
Go Pro looks fine to me.
Thanks
Please blur the most bottom left of dash which is displaying your speed. Which was completely the speed limit.
Yes
He lives very close to Mexico.
Wow....13 quarts of oil. My son just did his 04 Honda Civic and it took 3.7 quarts. V12 vs a 4 banger.
Great video.
Yup
More like wet sump vs. dry sump🙂
@@AB-80X ok
Have Megan do a comparison of the FF and her Mini as a daily driver. Make her go grocery shopping!!!

Listen to the video with airpods. Lots of unintended bass. Annoying.
