- The Minister's Treehouse in Crossville, Tennessee burned to the ground on October 22, 2019. Ken was lucky enough to have filmed it back in 2016. Now you can take a tour of what is now just a memory.

That’s an amazing piece of architecture. It’s also so sad that it had been vandalized. Now it’s lost to everyone but with your video we can at least see this piece of history. Thanks for sharing.
well that blows... i was hoping to travel just to see this for the sake of it being a giant treehouse and bringing out that big happy kid in me lol.
Don't know why I ended up being here- but I love how you were so happy on that swing. Thanks for this wonderful tour!
Thanks for watching.
That was a fun day!
This was my favorite abandoned place of all time especially during a heavy rainstorm it's something magical.
Ken, it was an honor to watch this tribute. You sir, are a true gentleman. Thank you for your service.
You know Ken, if it wasn't for people like you, people like me would never get to experience such extraordinary and amazing places. Thank you for investing your time and effort to take me there. Truly the loss of something remarkable.
I'm happy to do it Mr. Zip!
It still lives on Ken....You captured it in all it's glory...Now it is digitally the biggest treehouse in the world...Thanks to you......
I'm honored to be one of the few people that captured it from the air in 4K glory.
What a real shame, such beauty lost for ever, I did watch your first posting but found myself watching this one to the end just to take that last look again. Thanks for sharing and thank god you did manage to visit the place so we could all share it with you before it was gone forever.
Beauty sometimes happens in the blink of an eye.
That place was amazing. It's sad, but I'm sure they're now very glad that you documented it so effectively. Great tribute, Ken.
Thanks Bob.
At some point it becomes less of a tree house and more of a house super impressed by the build and saddened by the following events.
That is the best awesome tree house ever. Thanks Ken .
Noooo! Honestly Ken that video is one of my favorite vids of yours. I hope it was an accident and not malicious
it was no accident.
I'm sure if no one found that place then it would still be there.
it's really sad to see.
@@kanatapaw I mean, if it had been built to code in the first place it wouldn't have been closed and left to rot.
Can you imagine if a fire had started while there was a busload of tourists wandering around in there?
Thank you for sharing this Ken. It wood have been nice to see this marvel in person.
I have goose bumps all over my body I can't Believe it's gone . Next year would have been 30 years , man this is just so sad . I was hoping to visit one day and see if the owner would let us have a peek . But even from afar it would have been amazing to see .
Growing up me and a friend built one it was in the middle of 3 trees and was taller then two houses on top of each other . Took us 3 summers to build and we enjoyed it right up until I had to move .
Someone has spent a lot of time building that place,it is a work of art.
Very sad that it's gone. 😥
This was one place I've plan on visiting, so sad it's gone. I do thank you for your twice released video for the memories.
Holy smokes what a treehouse ! And what a shame it burned down . I wish I could have taken a tour myself , thanks Ken !
The treehouse was amazing, I would have really enjoyed visiting. Thanks KEN.
Only the memories remain now.
Very sad it is gone, thanks ken for sharing this with as.
that sucks! I was planning on going there soon cause my dad lives out that way. Now I'll never get to see it in real life. That being said, I was talking to my dad about it and he said that the property changed ownership about a year ago. Now this is just my dads personal opinion but he thinks that it was burnt down on purpose cause the property itself is worth about 1.5 million and the new owner (or some other third party) may have burnt it down on purpose cause no one would insure the property as long as that structure was there. Again, this is all conjecture and none of this has been substantiated, but it does make me wonder.
If the owner burned it down and didn't attempt anything fraudulent (like filing an insurance claim on it), and it didn't damage anyone else's property, then I don't think that would even be a crime. Just a fast (and probably safer) method of demolition.
This place was a bucket list item for me. Was very sad (about 30mins ago) to learn that it burned down.
Came across this video next. Thanks for the tour. I guess I can kinda take it off my list now.
Sorry you missed it.
It was an amazing place.
Glad I was able to see it in person.
Nice video man your not like any other youtubers who dont show theses kind of thing bit this video and seeing this tree house is just amazing!! Thanks for showing I'm very appreciative about this video that u made I always wanted to see what's happening around the world :)
what an amazing structure Ken. Such a shame its gone now
'Find the Bell' Really great Video Ken, thanks for sharing , such a shame it was destroyed.
Yeah, a very interesting place.
What an amazing place and such a tragedy that it's gone!
hell no!!! such a tragedy it was such a masterpiece and such a shame its gone but lives on in video thanks to you!
I loved the church ad carving inside
That's horrible! I literally just watched your original post of this video last week. What a truly amazing place!
Wow imagine stumbling across this as a child, it would have been all my dreams come true. Truly amazing place, it made me want to be a kid again :-)
It was a treat to be able to explore that place.
I remember that treehouse. May be you heard about old TV show "Treehouse Masters", so one of episodes was about treehouses around the world and this one was the most amazing treehouse I've ever seen...
Greatly appreciate, awesome video!!
This was awesome !! Thank you for sharing .
Awwww what a shame. You're a good man, Ken. This is a lovely in-memoriam.
I'm so glad to have been able to preserve it with video for everyone.
@@KenHeron I'm glad you could too
Wow that's truly amazing Ken. It's reminds me on one of those dreams I have where I'm trying to find the exit out of a building but never do. It's so sad it burned down. Thanks for posting this Ken.
That's very sad! A great loss...
I remember watching your film from that house a while back.
That was incredible. I do have to say, though, that there is no way I could have climbed that. I was having palpitations before you got as high as the sanctuary, and each time you showed walking on one of the outer walkways, I thought I was going to have the big one.
Considering one of the reasons it was closed by the fire marshal was due to fall hazards, that sounds like a properly-functioning survival instinct.
Truly amazing I wouldn't say it was vandalized he had everyone that came through it sign it
I always wanted to explore myself. Thank you for this
Oh nooooo!
I remember seeing a segment of Mr. Burgess’ masterpiece on Tree House Masters...RIP treepalace.
I was wondering if treehouse masters ever went there i must of missed that one
@@pleiadianpilot5076 I think it was one of those "tree house emergency" segments he did in the middle of an episode
Sad to see such a beautiful tree house burn down. Good vid
That is a Real Bummer. I have known about the place for years. Saw it on Travel Channel and Treehouse Masters. And then your coverage. Another Beautiful place that is gong and will never be replaced 🙁. Your videos are Awesome as always Ken. I look forward to them every week ✌
Thank you my friend.
A sad day indeed.
Absolutely devastated 😢. Only just watched your video when you visited it 😢 💔
Yeah, so sad it's gone.
Such a nice swing
Great tour Ken,Thanks.
Hi Ken I would have never have known this place if it wasn't for your video when I saw it on the news last night I was saddened to hear that it burned down and the first thing I thought of was your video I was sad to hear that it burned down and I hope you keep documenting the way you've been doing for so many years thank you
Thanks Michael.
I was fortunate to have been allowed to film there.
Way to go Ken... Was on national news this morning.
Damn... What a shame. So sad. Let us know if there is an fundraising or ? to help get this rebuilt or something. Thanks for sharing.
That tree house was basically sitting fuel waiting for it to happen. You can see the wood was so dry and all it would take is for someone to flick a cigarette butt. I am sure big brother is happy it's gone, sad day for the people who love to visit it though. Luckily ken captured it's memories so it can live on in tree house heaven!.
So sad to see something as beautiful as that turned to ashes.
😥
Wow, that totally sucks. I remember when you posted the original tour of the tree house. Amazing place. So sad it's gone.
I remember watching a documentary on this treehouse, gutted when i saw this!
Any word on what happened. I’m glad Ken was able to get video of such an amazing structure and I was able to see it. Thanks Ken great job.
The fire is still under investigation.
amazing.
How sad that it burned down. That was such a cool place!!!
Wow, cool video, Ken!! Yes, definitely an amazing structure! Sad it was burnt down.
WOW What a shame, Glad you took video of it.
That's awesome. Thanks for sharing
Really sad that it ended up burning down. Was such an amazing structure
WOW! I grew up in Crossville, TN. Would love to see some drone footage of my hometown. Thanks for this great video!
This is heartbreaking that someone could burn such a beautiful place.
Very sad that anyone could be so careless.
Not as heartbreaking as if the fire had happened while tourists were wandering around inside.
Mainly it's heartbreaking that it wasn't built to code in the first place. Then it could have stayed open, probably would have been properly maintained, and might have even had a sprinkler system.
Real Sad Ken Was a Cool Looking Place, Very Unique.
Wow, that was incredible!
This was an amazing structure and thanks for the reminder.
thats a shame ken thank god you done that video at least you have preserved some history i really like that
I am thankful for being able to document it. 👍
That was awesome thanks for sharing
My family lives in Crossville, we got to see it. I'm saddened by the news.
So sad. 😥
Very sorry to hear the news, I recall being very impressed by your first posting. Very sad the fire was most likely caused by vandals.
We went to this place as well. And probably have the last footage ever taken of the place from our June trip. Such a cool and interesting place, sad that it is now gone.
A very photogenic place indeed.
Brilliant vid pity it's gone all that hard work put in .if someone burnt it down I hope they get hoppers on there ballicks
Amazing content!
How was church Edna?!?! It was lovely until I caught a splinter in my ass and yelled hollyaluya 😅I 😂😂🎉🎉😊
So what started the fire? A Pyro or nature?
DUDE THAT IS CRAZY 😜
Was just talking to you about that at Spinup. Sorry for the lost.
But we have your vodeo.
Thanks for letting us know 😢😢😢
I only watched your original video again just yesterday!!!
Thanks!
Have you went to the bell witch cave before?
Sucks for sure, I've lived in Crossville my whole life and my son goes to school at Stone Memorial high school which is next door. Sad day for a lot of people. Lots of cool places to fly around here!
I grew up not to far away from there and got to go in when it was still open to the public. An amazing a slightly scary place.
That’s really sad thing. Such a shame.
Sorry to hear about that Ken... it was a pretty cool place. 😢
Hi Ken. It is a good thing you asSPIREd the way you did, otherwise you would have won the noBELL prize!! ;-) ;-) ;-)
Haaaa!
Nicely done. 😝
Ken, as I was about to finish this video my wife started watching Tree house Masters and in the into video I happened to notice this building. Wonder if the same guys built it.. Love the drone videos 😁👍
No, a reverend built it with his followers.
I seen this tree house on treehouse masters a few months ago it was truly amazing what a shame all those years of love and labor and gone in a blink of an eye.
Nooo that is so sad I loved the video you did such an awesome place😢
I can't believe you didn't say "This is treely amazing!" at least once!
I'm sure he WOOD have if he thought of it... 😜
@@NH4x4Jeep LOL!
What a fantastic place!!! And what a tragedy. Your video is a wonderful tribute! If you haven't done so already, you should contact Horace and give him the link to this video. I'm sure that at this point he (and all of his volunteers) would love to know that his creation lives on... Maybe it will make this tragedy just a little less tragic for them.
P.S. Thank you for all your wonderful videos!!
That kids, is why you dont play with matches.
Or unsafe drones
That is sad, I hate to hear this. Do they know what happened? Lightning, electric short, vandals? At least it's memory lives on in the outstanding video you made of it. Whatever happened, God knows.
The fire is under investigation. I'm happy to have preserved it in video.
Working in construction I would have so many panic attacks and anxiety issues walking around this tree house “aimless building no plans” yikes
Uneven floors and fall hazards. No building-wide load distribution planning. Estimated to have taken 15 minutes to burn down. Can you imagine if a fire had started while one of the bus-loads of tourists was wandering around inside of it?
Hi Ken. That’s an amazing place and such a shame it’s gone. If it was a stupid act of vandalism, I hope the person(s) responsible get their cumupance. Thanks for sharing. Take care and catch you later. Peter.
That’s my hometown !
Cool. 👍👍✌️
The fire even made UK headlines.
Wow!
Nice..📸👈
Took my kids 4 years ago it was amazing
Rebuild !!!
And to code this time! Preferably with a fire suppression sprinkler system.
I can't stop crying because I wanted so bad to go here
It was truly amazing.
Amazing beautiful it truly was.
Great work on your video I enjoy so much thank you
I got to visit it a couple of times. This is really sad.
😥
Sad to know all that work is gone. But I have to ask... what bad stuff was in the metal teepee. I'm intrigued.
It was just filled with old rusty metal things and broken bottles and it smelled like poop.
@@KenHeron Ahhh... not sure if I should give that a thumbs up for giving me the information👍 or thumbs down because it sounds disgusting👎. I can't give you a thumbs down... I like you and your show too much. 👍👍
Wow that’s some tree house.
But just because one chapter end doesn’t mean another can’t start.
True.
Perhaps they'll rebuild to code next time.
@@KenHeron I sincerely hope so.
Such a shame no one else will ever have the opportunity to experience it.
Yeah, I consider myself very lucky to have been able to experience it. 😥
Ken is finally back... Can you please do a video of how to fly a dji phantom 3 without the app...
Would really be helpful...
Just turn it on and fly!
It works just fine without the app.
