    I love this...
    So much more than those other famous unique treehouses because all the ones I've seen just seem more houses on trees...
    This seems to bring some sort of nostalgic nature to it that makes my inner child pumped to explore it...

    I live five minutes away from it, it is something everyone should be able to enjoy. I will admit some stairways are steep but nothing wabbles and everything seems to be put together with a meaning. It is beautiful in my eyes. It is not a public hazard, its a gift to the public.

    For all the people saying its not a treehouse. It probably started as a structure built entirely in the tree, and then was expanded. To keep it supported you would add foundational posts. Stupid thing to be picky about, its pretty cool. Use your common sense and enjoy it for what it is.

      Seth Brown - According to my good friend / Brother - and I've been to the very top - there are 7 trees involved! And there has to be someway to get off the ground to get up in them! There are a couple 'spiral' steps that take you to the first level And it goes from there... it IS a house built in 7 tress!!!

    Apparently it's estimated this thing took less than 15 minutes to burn completely down.
    Can you imagine if there'd been a busload of tourists scattered up and down that thing when it caught fire? Uneven floors, falling hazards, no proper plan for load distribution in the building, no fire suppression system...

    Its more of a house that swallowed a tree. A tree house is a house that's not being supported by beams from the ground, but just a tree itself that's HIGH up not wedged into the dirt below.

In America we are free, we have the right to vote, we are innocent until proven guilty, unlike you guys who have the cops beating you with a baton before they ask you what you're doing. And yes, America does have some corrupt police, but it's not like the whole police force in the United States are going around shooting people.. And when a couple of individual officers do shoot an innocent, they are fired, and most of the time arrested as well.

  • @doh1959

    serious question here im guessing tree houses require no planning so when does a tree house become a building with a tree running through it? take a look at picture of the whole thing because thats what it looks like to me. i think a true tree house even if it links several trees should have no external support other than a ladder or two to get in it .what you think peeps?

    • @IstasPumaNevada
      @IstasPumaNevada 3 года назад

      I agree with that; to count as a 'treehouse' the only supports touching the ground should be trees that grew in the ground.
      Though since you mention it, lack of planning for the load throughout the building is one of the reasons it was forced to close.

    This is not technically a treehouse, but rather a tall house built intertwined within trees. A treehouse starts above in the tree or trees, not from the ground up.
    A tree house, tree fort or treeshed is a platform or building constructed around, next to or among the trunk or branches of one or more mature trees while above ground level. Tree houses can be used for recreation, work space, habitation, and observation. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tree_house

    A beautiful expression of human spirit and the power of vision. I would hope that the only illegal part was not building it for one's own use, but only once he opened it to the public for tours, etc. Then the government has an interest in protecting people from public dangers, like inspecting elevators and pilot's licenses.

    this is awesome. I think you should be able to live where you want. if the state thinks it knows better than you and it wants to call it unsafe. then why cant you simply sign a waver stating that you have taken their opinions in the regards and accept all risk. No insurance would be needed. No mortgages and no payments for utilities is worth the small risk of it burning down.

    • @IstasPumaNevada
      @IstasPumaNevada 3 года назад

      A big part of the reason for building codes is to protect potential buyers.
      "But," you say, "they could just be required to inform the buyers of the problems."
      And that is true. But then you would have the cheapest houses being unsafe to buy or live in. And now people who properly build and maintain their houses and apartments to code are at an economic disadvantage. So you're creating an active incentive to have a larger and larger percentage of people living in unsafe housing.

    • @IstasPumaNevada
      @IstasPumaNevada 3 года назад

      But anyway, I believe it was forced to close to the public, to protect unsuspecting tourists (who would expect a general level of safety). I don't think the fire marshal said the owner couldn't live in that building.

      @lordcommandernox9197 10 лет назад +2

      As mortal as every man before me, the same who wrote that compedium of books over the span of thousands of years and of which the meaning has been lost, mortals like yourself and I have changed it so much that scrolls appearing today that would date to the time of christ won't even fit in modern day version of the bible. that is because religion is control, it's not that hard to grasp, the Romans needed a religion to create an homogeneous culture throughout the empire, and so they created an amalgamation out of a bunch of divinities and called it canon, they never did bring them jews over though... maybe that's cause most of the bible was plagiarized from them!
