Ordered the SN0116 recently from the official store, no QC or other issues. Fantastic watch.
3:30 I'm 90% sure Erebus is manufactured at the San Martin factory. The clasps are the same (aside from branding) and if you watch Jody's Origin factory vlog and San Martin's factory tour from a couple years ago they look very similar and the same worker is in both videos.
FINALLY someone else notices the similarities between the bracelets. I've seen neither of the vids you mention but I own a San Martin and recognized the similar bracelet on the Erebus

I think you’re conflating a few things here. I think it’s more likely a case of Jody’s company using some of the same suppliers.
Given how popular that clasp is, if I were building a brand and interested in having that feature be a part of my products, I would hunt down that supplier to see if that is exclusive or not.

An interesting detail I’ve noticed about SM is that they appear to reserve the tool less adjustment clasp for their non-copy watches. It reminds me of Rolex having levels to their clasps. It’s a clever bit of catalog building from them. Like “rewarding” customers for supporting the San Martin *brand*, not just the San Martin *copies*. I think they should keep it that way. However, I do hope that they keep making it easy for a customer to switch from the handy but honestly bulky toolless adjustment clasp to the regular ones.
Idk about that, I own a San Martin pelagos copy and it has the tool-less adjustable clasp
Ive ordered one and I found no issues but I didnt really look at it under a mifroscope 😅 super happy with the overall quality

Which model is this one in particular? As mentioned, I would love to set up some sort of group to keep track of which models are homages or not
it’s a an homage to the Grand Seiko Evolution 9 GMT as best I can tell , I have the GS and it’s a 41mm in Titanium with the Spring Drive GMT

Like the sn0129 the indices, hands, dial and bravet are different
The cronos gs is more of a clomage.

The SN0129 is ridiculously good.
It's actually mind-blowing how good for the money this watch is.
It took almost a month to ship, but their customer service was exceptional.

San Martin Watches Rock! The Chinese Jack Swiss designs. Corvette steals Ferrari designs too. Yet know one bitches about that. You don’t like homage watches don’t buy them. It’s just that simple, but leave the dude alone. Most of us love his reviews!

I have two San Martin watches, both are perfect.
Looks better without the crown guard and all brushed bracelet. The bezel looked better on the 129 with the black line dividers between the numerals.

The crystal appears to be obscuring the dial a bit, AR overdone maybe?

The major benefit from ordering from AE and their store is that AE offers free returns and handles them. SM CS is still more or less useless.
stating to wonder do you even know what a quality watch is anymore? or do you just stack the free watches?
If this watch had Seiko slapped on it price would be like 700-1000 dollars. So you're the one that has no idea what's a quality watch
Have you tried San Martin? Additionally, as mentioned in the video, i'd love to know if particular watches like this model are clones of other watches or not. There are thousands of models released each year and it's impossible for an individual to keep up with them and keep track of whether a particular design is original

all the QC issue ridden san martins that I bought were from the official store lol
I also experienced better "customer service", if you can call it that, from random Aliexpress sellers compared to the official store. I had issues with two San Martin watches and neither were resolved by the official store.
What were the typical errors you experienced? Would love to see if they line up with any of mine
$300 for a watch with a $20 movement...
Their official shop is a total zero. They wanted to give me a sample of their most expensive model for $60, including shipping, and they couldn't provide ANY adequate response to anything. After that, I wouldn't take their watch for $40, no matter how good the quality seems. Ain't an original-first brand anyway. Can't see their legacy booming.
Speaking from my own experience the SN0129 from them had the hour and gmt hand hand misaligned to the hour markers by between 2 to 5 minutes for every marker. They said it was fine

“Man-sized watches”. Your preference is heavily a culture thing. It’s one thing to prefer larger watches, but it’s a different thing to insist that larger watches are inherently masculine

someone with true watch passion would not whore homage watches. They would respect the brands that make them and not pamp companies that steal. real watch companies wont give you a free watch
SM Official CS nearly worthless. Cursory, largely dismissive. Would make sense that perhaps they'd be more attentive to reviewers, but mostly shit to the average customer seemingly.

Personally I wont watch another San Martin video. They give away so many and just keep giving that anyone who takes from them is SUS af anymore. how many reviewers will really be honest when then know 15 more free watches coming if they just be nice

They probably bought too many movements from Seiko. I personally prefer time only watches. I have my phone for the day, the date and time zones.
if 1 of your viewers is having issues with San martin you should not promote them. They are a half dozen or more people with QC issue just in this thread and the last thread alone. But yet you take another free watch and promote them. Very sad to see Ben you crossing the sell out line tread carefully
From what I have seen online, there are issues, but it’s not everyone. I have 3 San Martins haven’t had any issues so far and they’re great. Ben doesn’t appear to really take any watches for “free”. I mean, he is selling most of these. I can’t really have a channel with this level of production quality and rely only on the AdCents
