I think he was seeing how fast the RPF indicator was moving and used that to figure out you were closing the gap to him and not kiting away... that's a great play on his part though
He said he should have gotten a lot of torp hits first game but didn't, should have got more gun damage second game but didnt... that's not exact quote but that's what he was saying
I find myself being a lot bolder in the Cassard, really making use of my saturation to actually match other gunboats in terms of firepower. Being able to survive for a bit longer while throwing super torps at them is great. They gotta slow down and dodge, I get to race ahead of them and use my back guns. It's pretty great!
I saved all my XP for two patches, so I had more than enough XP and credits to get the this and the tier IX when they came out of early access. (I´m doing the same for Los Andes and Libertad by the way). The Cassard was worth it. I have been using it in Brawls and it´s great. Even at longer ranges those torps hit like a truck and the guns are good enough that even gun boats don´t want to run into you, because they know you can fight back. But, this line is not for newer DD players (no DD line that lacks smoke is). I´m a DD main that has been playing for 6 years and have almost every DD in the game.
@@paddington1670 Khabarovsk is just a worse Kleber. My biggest problem is the limited range for a fully dedicated gunboat with missing game impact. Sure you can buff the range with legendary mod, its actually mandatory at that point, but I'm not paying 2 resets worth of RB for a niche boat, for it to be actually usable. Can it still work? Yes, but in the exact same situations, a Kleber would be just as good, if not better.
you'll be really disappointed by this one then. It's a slow fat beast. The need to swing from either side to fire 6 torps is a gigantic pain, means your gun power is gimped while you turn.
"Cassard. I said Kasar! Why do I have to record this anyway?" "My creators, the cherishers and sustainers of worlds, give me this day my daily pleasures, as I give to those who seek pleasures from me." From another water based game whose current port event graphics reminds me of.
With the better stealth making it easier to sneak in and cap, and the longer-range generally harder hitting torpedoes making it easier to dev-strike, I feel like this line lends itself much better to Auboyneau's talents than the original French DD line does
Just got through grinding the line today. Excellent line from top to bottom. Le Hardi is the toughest but still not a bad boat. I went pure hybrid with most all of them. Including RDF skill as soon as I can afford it. This is the most basic item for a hybrid to have. It allows you to prepare for the fight, which can make a difference with a more powerful boat. Not easy to play but I am my best at DDs and meh at other ships. All French DDs are really fun to play. Course, I love Italian DDs as well. So maybe I am just a bit crazy.
O stfu. It's a free game and credits are free. A lot of those are cheap anyways. It's only the more advanced slots that start to really add up... Plus the game slowly gives you doubloons for free too..
with the turret layouts and torp angles it looks like it plays like an IJN cruiser intended for baiting and kiting and since they'll be pushing you it makes the torps that much more dangerous since they're closing the gap on the damage threshold.
ty @PotatoQuality, Glad you had both builds just yesterday i was looking at the Line wondering if I should finish getting the All in Cassard Line now. I got motivated by your vid btw. take care My Dude. GG!
Grinding the ship out from tier 9 at the moment. Not really a DD player but tend to play them where need hits for dockyard etc. so strictly co-op and then hit W. Replacing using Marceau for the job. In close torp hits really wallop and found whereas with marceau would fire all torps now just tend to fire the one bank and still takes out the ship.
It costs too much to experiment with captain builds. I also set a lot of my high point captains like yours, and switch equipment. WG used to give us more free reset days😢
Hey PQ you haven't put forth an Oland vid (in years?). I've over 3500 games in her as she has become my very favorite ship by far. Versatile/open options defined. CV matches very-included and Yes please! 2 CVs? Yes Yes please, I'd volunteer! I only understand the CV complaints when I'm not in Oland, only then do I hate them.
Would you rather cassard or gearing? I really do like the torp concept of cassard, because I like to get super close to bbs to torp when there's no spotting threat of any kind around. Cassard having good saturation mechanics is enticing too. Kinda wish they were faster torp boats without the torp gimmick. That might be cool o well I'm rambling
Ive been playing the black and if i win the dd fight. I try to spot. My guns feel awful at longer range. I usually get one torp to hit but they dont reload fast and they are slow so sometimes its hard. But i lose so many games due to lack of damage or if i die in the dd fight.
The line isn't for me. Generally I don't like hybrids. Because you're either mediocre at torping or mediocre at shooting. There's a few ships that can play both roles like Gdansk (which is overpowered) or Hayate (which is decent after buffs), but generally I'd rather just play a Marceau or Sherman or Ragnar. Or if I want a torpedo boat I'll just play Yueyang.
Is it just me or are blue boosters very rare and difficult to come by, upvote if you think so as well, And lets not mention red boosters which I haven't gotten a single one of since I started playing which was around the start of Wisconsin Dockyard, as a newer player to the game this is one of the biggest turn offs, the fact that I literally have to spend the whole day grinding just to go from tier 9 to 10 and I'm not sure if I will even enjoy the tier 10 ship. This issue is further compounded by the fact there are so many freaking ship lines in the game and they keep adding more. I am only just about to get my third Tier 10 ship. As someone who spends a lot more time in-game than the average player, that says a lot about just how bad the grind is in the game currently. This of course excludes how terrible mid tier ships are. While the excuse that it prevents newer players from getting to high tiers quickly is somewhat true its still just an excuse at the end of the day because premium ships exist and there are many, many players with thousands of games that still don't know what the f they are doing. Something needs to change in regards to how many xp cards we get from in-game events, or just keep the same amount of cards and improve the quality of the xp cards we get. Removing grey boosters from crates entirely and replacing them with greens and blues with a small chance for a red drop sounds awesome and would make grinding lines take much less time and effort. Its really tiring and repetitive having to play the same ship over and over again till you unlock the next one. Thanks for reading, have a nice day.
How's the AA? That's the game ruiner here, planes as always. Especially with no farming smoke. Looks like a fun ship otherwise, might I say balanced? edit: hah, got to the end.
makes me laugh a basically invisible ship wandering around throwing out dev strike walls of skill every 40 seconds doesnt make the game a passive boring sit back fest where people are unwilling to move forward. thats the cv's fault
I got my all time damage record for operations with Cassard at 765,473 with 41 torp hits. Obviously not as legit as Randoms but still a totally ridiculous number
I think he was seeing how fast the RPF indicator was moving and used that to figure out you were closing the gap to him and not kiting away... that's a great play on his part though
Angular velocity ftw!
That was my thought as well.
PQ says he didnt get many torp hits first game but much more in the second game
1st game 8 torp hits
2nd game 9 torp hits
The Canadian jingles
That's not what he said tho...

Looks like a fun DD. Always liked those French DDs speed boating around the map at full speed.
so you are one with the Khabarovsk as well?!
This one isnt going to speed around much with its 34kts though

Hey PQ been playing this lots lately did full torp build and used rudder instead of propulsion and been having really good games
Sherman "I was going to farm you (PQ) but the Dalarna was there." I think he needs to watch and see he wasn't going to get any damage on PQ.
when you said hybrid DD i thought they somehow managed to shoehorn a flight deck onto a destroyer
Excellent video, thank you

I kind of wish Minegumo's torps get changed to these..
But doesn't minegumo already have a torp gimmick of its own?
@@clmwrx well this version is better.. not having to swap makes them a fundamentally a better torp boat, even at the expense of smoke and concealment.

Next ship comparison should be Cassard vs Kleber seeing how the new French torpedo dd has better dpm than the French gunboat dd 😂
This boat gives me Mahan ranked vibes for some reason… I feel like the gameplay is very similar with the quick reload torps.
That's a cool steam punk looking skin.
The torps are nasty and lots of fun.

Over-match.
I like the ship but this line is difficult to play, lacking either speed or smoke/health to be good.
