- Africa's Sportsman Show, Episode 70
In Episode 70 of our Africa’s Sportsman Show our host Stefan Fouché joins Chris Gunther from Aloe Africa Hunting Safaris near Wasbank in KwaZulu-Natal in search for Africa’s “Grey Ghost”, the greater kudu.
Professional Hunter Jurgers Yogi Potgieter conducts the hunt and the team ends up with one of the most beautiful kudu ever on film. The guys also used a new camera added to our arsenal and was incredibly pleased with the end result.
When they combined the Triggercam with the high quality Nightforce scope it ensured awesome footage at a great distance!
We will most definitely be using the Triggercam more often in our shows. It works great!
Enjoy and thanks for watching!

Awesome video guys, well done. Beautiful Kudu, nothing really beats hunting these.
Thanks Martin. It was a pity you couldn’t join us but our cameraman did a splendid job. Did not even flinch with that muzzle break shot going off! We are very proud of him...
Brilliant. Congratulations
Great hunt and video as always stefan 🦌
Thanks Fred. Was an awesome hunt with a great bunch of new friends made
That bull saw a good life, I’m sure. Scars of battle on the horns, what a mighty animal it is..
Stefan, I have always enjoyed watching your videos, but this one piqued my interest as you were hunting in an area I have frequented, specifically Rourke's Drift. The area does hold great kudu, but also a fair number and good quality nyala. Nice bull kudu. I will be back in KZN in May, but unfortunately not this area as we will try our hand for Vaal rhebok near Nottingham Road. Keep the videos coming.
Thanks so much for the kind words and thanks for watching!
Soos my Oupa sou se”dis n knikker” Well done👌

“If you have a sho…”
*BANG*
Stefan is on the heavy side u can hear him breathing harder then the guide hope he’s ok love the show Stefan pls don’t take that the wrong way I’m just concerned ⭐️
In South Africa I took a good Kudu with a .270 Remington pump, shooting of of thePH's shoulder. What caliber did you use?
Caliber used was a .30-378 Weatherby Magnum
Absolutely Beautiful Kudu and as usual with ya'll an exceptional guide and hunt!!!
Mooi Stefan,hoeveel duim ,
We cannot disclose the length of the horns as there is a competition running on our website where you could win a hunt like this. www.africassportsman.com
jy kan maar nou vertel stefan? 👀🤣
Yoh
In your video description you say it was a Nightforce scope, but it is clearly a Leupold.
Yeah mistake there sorry! Thanks for picking it up. It was indeed a Leupold VX6-HD in a 3-18x50 with the Varmint reticle
What’s on the end of your barrel, oops I can’t hear you😂
What rifle are you are you using there thank you... And what rifle will you recommend for antelope hunting is a 308 OK?
Yeah .308 win is more than enough. Just make sure you use a good quality Bullet at the correct velocity. Much more important than Caliber choice
What cal was used
.30-378 Weatherby Magnum
What rifle are you using there please am interested thank you...
The rifle used here is a Weatherby MK5 and the caliber is a .30-378 Weatherby Magnum shooting a 210gr Nosler Accubond at 3200fps
What caliber Weatherby Accumark is he shooting?
Alemães ?.
South African. Dutch decents. Thanks for watching 👍🏻
Any news on the size competition?
I presume the shooter had a big scope and good silencer and the kudu was in a camp excellent hunter
Willie you “presumed” correct. Big gun, big scope. Silencer not so much. Had a big muzzle break on. Camp yes, but the most of the kudu got out over the 4 foot fence. Trapping kudu in a cattle camp is like trapping a fly in a parrot cage. Thanks for watching!
Hello I want to ask some questions why are you killing many precious animals like lion, leopord, giraffe and many more.. I couldn't understand the purpose of your struggle to kill animals.. Please tell me
It is all about controlling numbers in an environment that is constantly shrinking because of human population growth. Habitat loss in short. Now, you only have certain areas to have animals in like game parks and private land. These numbers will spin out of control and the eco system will crash. Money generated from hunts help protect these areas and numbers are in equilibrium. Hope this helps?
@@AfricasSportsmanChannel yes I agree but if you believe in God so leave them.. God will feed them..
if you have a problem with it then don’t watch the video, it’s as simple as that. there is no need to moan about anything
Why do you kill animals bro..? stop doing these please..
Couldn’t give a better answer myself. Mind you, surely the cook would face a similar beating when putting the broccoli in the boiling water
I think you don't kill them for eating them right.. ? How will you feel if someone kill your children.. ? Stop doing that please..
Every ounce of meat on every carcass hunted in Africa gets consumed. Suppose you do not consume any meat or animal products?
Did GOD not command man privilege over animals. People are not the same as animals. Period. The end.
