    This vehicle is seriously very underrated. I live in freezing temperatures here in Canada and once in 4WD auto it just sticks to the ground in heavy snow and icy conditions - even at temps as low as -30C. The next thing is ABLS, which I see you have mastered well in your other videos. 4WD high and 4WD low split the power 50-50 front/rear. 4WD low gets the ABLS into play (not sure if 4WD high does it), which acts left-right on an axle, by stopping the spinning wheel using brakes. So you are right, it kind of acts like a DIFF lock - needs a little practice and commitment to learn it though - but once you learn it, the vehicle devours most terrain. You can actually see some rock crawling videos on RUclips of Pathfinders. The absence of solid axles can be felt if you get too serious, but the comfort of the IFS/IRS can be felt when you take the family for regular business on tarmac.

      Nice summary! My R51 is amazing in freezing Norway as well!

      Agent. K. Agreed! Very underrated . Other then my 3 inch lift and 33’s very similar to this gentleman’s truck it’s completely stock . Well I do have an upgraded air filter system . But other then that I have no problem off road . I go off-road a lot with a friends Jeep club just for fun and Up to this point I’ve only had to be pulled out once and that’s because of a flat tire . But I’ve pulled those guys out a couple times with ease . The first time I just wanted to see what my truck could do , he was stuck in serious mud . I hooked up to the front of his Jeep rubicon and then to the front of my pathfinder and seriously just drug him out . I was pulling in reverse . And check this out , for the first few feet he didn’t even realize he had his E brake on . And I was just dragging him out . After he realized and took it off it was crazy how the pathfinder just pulled him out . I have a video and pictures in my old phone . But yea these trucks really are underrated.

Currently researching doing this for the pathfinder's big brother, the kit is crazy expensive and I don't see why I can't do the same thing you are doing right here. Maybe plate the ends of the box for a little more strength so that it doesn't diamond but it's unlikely that would happen anyway. Great video, thanks!

    Hello, great work, is the swaybar at the rear installed? If not, was the articulation improved? and how is the road feeling with those high profile tires?, I like the way those 16 inch wheels looks but do not know if go with 17 inch to keep road manners more close to oem.

    • @algeradventures4891
      @algeradventures4891  5 лет назад +1

      Huaso, Thank you. No, i removed my rear sway-bar. I never got to compare how it does off-road because when i bought my pathfinder it had 22" wheels and i never had any real traction on trails to begin with. But I max out my rear flex on trails now, that with the rear sway bar installed would limit how the whole rear would work. I couldn't compare the on road feeling and handling to stock because of the 22's, and the 22's made the on-road driving horrible. With 16's to 17's, i chose 16" because the tires are cheaper than the 17's, by a little bit. Me personally i don't think their would be a big noticeable difference for side wall flex on road between the 16" to 17" rim. You would feel more with removing the rear sway bar.

    When you did your lift did your bumpers separate from the rest of the body or are they attached. I'm asking because I've noticed that when some trucks have a body lift that the bumpers and body end up with a huge gap between them due to the bumpers being attached to the frame separately.

    Hey Alger
    Thanks for the tuto
    I bought the same spacers for my front shocks on pathfinder 2011, but I couldn't mount them : the bottom of the schocks in then so low that the upper triangle hits the top of shocks bracket.
    Seems that the maximum shims I could insert on top of my shocks is about half inch.... ☹
    Didn't you net the same problem ?

    • @algeradventures4891
      @algeradventures4891  4 года назад +1

      Manu Iqmj, it will make it a little easier if you loosen the upper and lower control arm bolts so your not fighting the bushings. Then with a floor jack under the lower control arm Jack it up to get the bottom shock bolt in and then jack the lower control arm up high enough to get the upper control arm into the knuckle and get a few threads on the but started. I hope that helps you. Without an after market upper control arm it takes a bit to get it together.

    Hey Dan-
    I'm super excited.. got my wheels and front spacers delivered yesterday and my tires just came in an hour ago.. I went with your exact setup. The only thing I'm doing different is for the rear I ended up buying the ready made pucks from amazon.. the ones that go above/below the rear coils. We'll see how that pans out.
    I did have a question though- what did you do as far as TPMS.. did you get new ones, just transferred the old ones, or delete them from the system altogether (and is this doable)? Thanks, will have to send you pics once I get it all installed!

    • @algeradventures4891
      @algeradventures4891  4 года назад

      Da_Q-ban_One, Awesome that is very exciting, time to transform your Pathfinder. You will have to let me know how the rear works out. You can have the tire shop that is doing your wheels and tires transfer your TPMS over to your new wheel setup. You could leave them off the vehicle but you would have a tire light on. When they transferred mine over they did have to get a new seal kit for 2 of the sensors, but it was only like $10-$15. You will have to let me how the the lift goes, and yes i would like to see pics of your Pathfinder all setup.

      I replaced my rear coil springs with Old Man Emu heavy duty coil springs. Not only did it give the rear a significant (>2") lift, but it keeps the rear end from sagging when the truck is loaded down with camping gear. The trade-off is a stiffer ride, but I don't mind that. You might need to replace your control arm bushings with eccentric bushings in order to ensure the camber is good.
