Thanks Rafal for your instructions on the settings! Very informative!! Do you sometime use a ND filter when shooting outside and want to lower the Shutterspeed, maybe lower than HSS?
Two things One for the people who want to learn something free then they want to make money out from that If you’re broke Try watch as many videos Try to gather the vital information Like HSS, long end of tele-lens Even it is little Try it your own Figure out Second, if you’re a professional photographer Want it to learn the specific topic , don’t hesitate to pay for it. It’s a investment. Don’t foolishly ask for free information, step by step guidance.😂😜👍🤓🙏🤣 This gentleman has already given out so much information Also inspired many people Pls don’t ask for something free , which he paid to learn from 😂🤓👍
Thanks Rafal for taking the time to share with us. Few observations. :) 1) I am almost certain that you must be shooting raw but there is no mention of it. Shooting raw also helps with color balance and other exposure corrections in post-processing. 2) Unless there is no ambient light, it will have been better to expose for the ambient light first before taking any flash test shots. 3) Not everyone can afford HSS. It will be nice to cover a little on using ND filter as an alternative for outdoor shooting. Thanks again for taking the time to share your knowledge. Good job!
RAW is a given for any pro photographer. Also, the ND filter can also be used very well indoors with you are using strobes in particular - they are more powerful than speedlites and to get them close to the subject even at lowest settings may be challenging without a ND filter OR backing the light up which ultimately changes the characteristics of the light on the subject. I do use HSS outdoors with my speedlites, though.
Hi Rafal, thanks for the great advice, one question I want to ask. With these settings around, what would be the focal length of the lens to get the most out of the whole setup? Thanks!
Rafal, great down-to-earth instructions. I am very interested in learning more about cinematic headshots and look forward to more detailed tutorials. Thank you.
Thank You for subscribing t my Chanel and for kind words about my work....I will be more than happy to meet one day for a coffee and chat about photography ...
Hello Rafal. I love your photography and vlog videos. In regard to settings, I was just wondering what lens you use? It looks like your cinematic headshots use the same lens or at least the ones you post for your video title card. Thank you so much for the very educational videos! Please make more!!!
Hello Michael... and Thank You for watching my blog. I use couple lenses for my work. Nikko 70-200 VrII and I also like to use Nikkor Macro 105mm 2.8 I will make more of those videos for sure.
Hi Rafal, you doing stunning headshots!!! I am trying to follow your tutorials to trying to do something like your photos. Question: I have two flashes, NIkon SB-700 (which I think is a good speedlight) and a Yongnuo YN 565 EX N, do you think this one is enough to do good headshots? Thank you for your answer in advance.
Hi Rafal, You said all the things I expected to hear on this topic except there was no mention of the focal length of your lens as this plays a huge part in the compression of the background for these type of shots. Regards Graham.
Regarding HSS outdoors with sun: Got to be an other cheaper radio trygger system or other way . Do you know the Flash Q ? I Just trying the su 800 transmitter an works well in hss with the SBs. I havnet try IT in the sun. For hss the broncolor i conect the sb 800 mounted on camera to a P W Transmitter And its work well.
I agree - I love Rafal's work and cannot dispute his amazing results, but this is probably the first time I've heard anyone describe their workflow in terms of setting aperture and ss then working the ISO. Interesting - going to try it out myself! I've usually been more of a f5.6 - 1/125th - ISO 100 kind of guy, LOL
You can use the settings but probably You won't get the same results. The lens I use 70-200 compress image much tighter and the final image looks a bit different.
Love it. I hope you have made a rule to your facebook page being for headshots/portraits only and NOT nudity. Nudity in a headshot forum is allowing the entirely wrong thing. Stick with the title, headshots. Which is why I left the forum.
I hope not to be too blunt but I really think you waste too much time out of message. I would recommend writing what you want to say and reviewing it first for redundancy and then asking a reliable friend to do an aditional check up looking for things that could be said either with fewer words and/or with different voice inflexions to keep the audience interested. Adding some editing here and there as well as some camera work can also result in more satisfied viewers and channel visits. Sorry, your material is good but you can definitely improve the way you communicate it.
Excellent
Thank you so much 😀
Awesome work Rafal can you make more of a tutorial and not so much vlog ?
Thanks Rafal for your instructions on the settings! Very informative!! Do you sometime use a ND filter when shooting outside and want to lower the Shutterspeed, maybe lower than HSS?
Thank You. I don't use any ND filters. The lights are not that powerful so Iw Ould need them.

Hello Rafal,

Thank You for subscribing t my Chanel and for kind words about my work....I will be more than happy to meet one day for a coffee and chat about photography ...
Thanks Rafal.
Thanks for the terrific information!
You are very welcome.
Question... you said you have a 70-200 2.8 and you have your Shutter speed at 100 handheld? How do you keep it from not being blurry without tripod?
Thanks for your explanation. I am curious how far away your background is from your model when shooting f3.2 1/100 on 7-200mm Beautiful work!
Love yours videos mate , Dylan workshop awesote too, people own style has to develop with practice And taste, Eduardo foto.design

Wow! Adjusting ISO first and foremost to initially set exposure goes against everything I have ever learned.

Hey there what is the proper in camera aspect ratio?
Hey Rafal, nice tutorials by the way. I need to ask you, can I use these settings if Im shooting with a 50mm lens and 85mm lens. Cheers
You can use the settings but probably You won't get the same results. The lens I use 70-200 compress image much tighter and the final image looks a bit different.
perfect advice
How bout your white balance with flash?

Completely agree with this. Good information but the execution of said communication needs work.
Looking for step by step teachings for free 😂😜😂
Video entirely too long for the little useful information that was actually said.
turner 3creator always like that , when we looking for free Information instead of paying for it
