Awesome video! Great to see you posting regular content again Matt!
Great review, Matt! A Michigan company, you say? I may have to track down their secret lair.
One thing to keep in mind is the box is NOT hand crafted. The box is made almost exclusively with a CNC machine. Those little marks you are referring to are marks made by the machine not hand tooling. The process goes like this.... Insert chunk of wood into machine..... Press button..... Out pops Dragon sheath. The box looks great! but others will have to decide if this is true craftsmanship.
Personally, I ordered one and put money in their newest Kickstarter. It should be arriving any day. For cost reasons I got the basic White Ash with a finish, but because they looked so friggen cool I did get the carvings on the outer shell. I do like my Wyrmwood dice tower and tray, but their dice vault only has enough room for one set of polyhedrals.
Did they send you that free of charge?
I think being very transparent about the circumstances is in your benefit, there have been a lot of 'sponsorship' scandals lately, and I don't want to see you drown in one of them needlessly.
I personally believe you call it like you see it, but not everyone thinks like that.
Thanks for the nice video.
Lucas Rumney I say at the end that they sent it to me, but I think you have a good point. I'll be forthright in future reviews about whether I bought the product or received it specifically for review.
Yeah I watched the entire thing. I've just been a longtime follower that doesn't want to see you drown in complaints like that.
Have a nice week!
Lucas Rumney absolutely. I appreciate the feedback! It's something I need to keep in mind.
You are actually legally obligated to do so. In order to properly disclose you need to put it at the beginning of the video and you need to do it in a way that can't be mistaken or misunderstood as something else. Putting it into the video title might also help but probably not necessary as long as you have proper disclosure in the beginning.
Lucas Rumney I was just getting ready to ask the exact same thing.
Hmm. That doesn't look like Purpleheart, it
looks like Vernillion. Unless that wood has
mutated since the 80s and now looks same as
Vermillion did back then. Both are very
hard woods that make oak seem like working
with butter, though.
Molikor Noposs The color looks a little different off camera. I have a purple heart dice tower and the two look almost identical.
Ah. So your lighting must make it look red-orange rather than purple.
Molikor Noposs Yes, exactly. Everything in that room is a little orange because of the lighting.
