We just have to hope he winds up finding himself sitting on a toilet at some point. A destroyed toilet, depending how much of himself he may use as a basis for the character he's playing.
When worlds collide... The original show being such a cult hit here in Germany, I actually named my vaccum robot "Schotty" after the OG crime scene cleaner lol. And now some of my favourite British people will give it a go, can't wait! 😁

This I the first time I've heard of a British remake of a show, I didn't realise it was German
The German original is really, really good. This looks different though, Davies is much more confrontational as a character.

I think it’s great to have different portrayals of the same story.
Tatortreiniger is amazing as is Greg Davies.
tbh when I saw this preview I was like...?!? Tatortreiniger in British? But I think Davies will do an excellent job. The original is such an interesting story concept each time, I can't wait to see it translated.

I have always been a bit of a fan of Greg Davies, Helena Bonham Carter is pretty much a world famous Hollywood actress. Well done in getting her. This actually looks really good. Defo worth a watch.

That's not something you see very often, Britain remaking a German show... usually it's the other way around. Loved the original and love Greg, so I'm looking forward to this!

@@josiahscurlock we also did an office type show called "Stromberg", but other than that I can't think of anything. I'm sure there are lots though
Most german adaptions of british shows are either quiz shows like Gefragt, gejagt (based on The Chase), talent shows like XFactor or reality shows like Frauentausch (based on Wife Swap). I know they also tried to remake Taskmaster but failed before even airing the first episode.
Other than that, Stromberg based on The Office is definitely the best and most popular show based on a british show. There have been a few other shows, based on Till Death Do Us Part, Doc Martin and The Bill but that's all I can think of.

Like a lot of british personalities, he's just himself, so I disagree. The same way that ricky gervais is "Ricky in " in all his shows. Greg isn't a broad actor, it's just funny to see Greg in these scenarios.

The German version does a great job of making you think about social issues and problems without suggesting a "correct" answer. I wonder if they manage to transfer that to this version.
Fun fact: the director of the German version also directed the German version of The Office

Also it was not a one to one adaptation, basically only the work situation in an office was the same.
@@Tosse901 that's exactly what a foreign remake should be. Take the concept (a documentary set in an office) and put their own spin on it

So do I. But somehow Greg lacks something that makes Bjarne Mädel so perfect for this role. You always feel sorry for Schotty. Gregs characters are often funny but I dont feel sympathy for them.
