Got mine about 10 years ago from Dunham's for 350$ wish I would have bought the other 2. Dunham's was a really good place to get milsurp at one time. These rifles have really risen in price over the years.

I bought two of these from classic, RTI brought them in.
Paid 499 plus hand select for each. Both are 1945, BSA, in really good condition. Bores on both are in excellent condition. Wood is all intact,no cracks, bolt action smooth.. all numbers match on both rifles.. I took them all the way down, did some extensive cleaning..I am very happy with my purchases..
    This one looks very nice..

Thanks I really like the bore on mine. It seems they weren't too heavily used.

Surprisingly good condition from RTI. Thanks for doing this video. I picked up a Lebel from the July 4th sale…crossing my fingers (still waiting on it).

I've heard the Lebels are in nice condition, however I know a guy who got one as a hand select that had a broken extractor. Not a cheap or easy part to find. Be interested in seeing what you get.

They had a special lightened version of the stock bolt that had a hole drilled all the way through and was about 2/3rd the weight, they stopped using this early in production as it was difficult to machine, I'll have a video on it on my channel in the next week or so

I got mine in last monday from RTI. It was one of the refurbished ones and they sent it to me with a No.4 bolt in the gun. They have offered to send me a No.5 bolt but I am told they have to be gun smithed to fit if it was not the original bolt with the gun from the factory. I have asked them to exchage the gun for one with correct parts. Still waiting to hear back. Sigh.

Just picked up a June '45 at a LGS. Wanted one to round out the collection. I got very lucky and picked it up for five bills

So long as it has a great bore and passes headspace that's all that matters. Sounds like a great shooter.

Not too bad! The current sale price is still pretty steep IMO, but you got a pretty great example considering the usual condition of RTI's stuff.

I would agree the sale price still feels on the high end but milsurp prices are generally pretty high right now and aren't likely to go down. I think a matching bolt would certainly make the price more reasonable, but looking at GB No. 5s are selling for much more than the sale price at RTI.

The inside of the barrel surprised me? It looked like new? The out side looked like it had been carried many miles? I hunted with one back in the late eighties. It put a lot of deer on the ground.

It was probably barely if ever fired while in Ethiopia. It's possible much of the external wear could have just been from being stored in less than ideal conditions for decades along with the rough handling during shipment.

Repair on the right side of outside where chamber is located? Weld? If it works no problem

Which part of the receiver are you referring to? Can you post a timestamp? Didn't see any welds or repairs to the chamber.

The later war finish on these under certain angles under the light can look uneven and splotchy too.
