because it's knowledge. What she is teaching is knowledge self awareness. She teaches you how to be selfless instead of selfish. ..But they want you to teach ignorance to the world, instead of truth to the world...ijs...
i dont mean to be off topic but does someone know a way to get back into an instagram account?? I somehow forgot the password. I would appreciate any help you can offer me.
for me I think the black woman has been put down and disrespected for so long that they're born practically insecure and self conscious, cause of society and us black men. Even though I didn't like black women when I was younger cause I always felt they dissed me cause of my interests and/or mannerisms, I'm older and appreciate ya'll.
What part of Jasmine's words were hate...and don't say ALL of them because that's a cop out. Choose a line or two to validate your claim that what Jasmine's saying is hate, if you can't do that then guess what...YOU"RE HATING!!!!
Jasmines conveys her message with an old soul, almost like the voices of our ancestors. I hope Kanye hears this and gets a bone-chilling reality check. Jasmine, you're marvelous!
" Could you hear all of the lights? The flashing lights , the new slaves , the runaways on their road to redemption waiting for Malcolm West to have the whole world at attention." The entendres in this sentence alone is amazing
What a beautiful letter to one of the most tragic artists of our time. Can't count the times I listened to College Dropout.. When he performed on def jam I saw a brilliant musician and writer... Now I see a reality tv star. I wish his mom was still here, she would know what to say to him. This poem might have come close to her words
Screw you, Kanye never changed. The world changed around him and he just found different ways of expressing himself. He is still one of the greatest innovators to the music, fashion and philosophy industries, every album he puts out is altering the way we perceive music. Surely after all the work he's done and all he's suffered you can't give him a bit of leeway on who he loves?
That was absolutely moving! I have a lump in my throat because Jasmine nailed it. She spoke with her heart and I felt it...and I agree with her. You can tell she cares for Kanye and she knows he is lost and can't find his way back. She's not bitter, she's just telling us what she see's through her lenses. Remember this is Jasmine's opinion in an art form. I loved it.
Wow. This gave me chills. Brother Ye needs his mother's love. He is hurting and all of the fame, money, Hollywood woman doesn't help heal his pain. This is frustrating. Not being able to find what's missing because what's missing will not be coming back. God bless Ye.
even if you think no one will watch this share it. the more you share it will become put out in the internet. this shit is fire and worthy to be discussed
This is amazing! Kanye may not see it this way but I felt every word! As a disappointed fan of his as well I know exactly what this poem means. I wish he would come across it... 🙏🏾
You're a genius. I have listened to this incredible work of yours where you performed for a live audience perhaps a hundred or so times over the years. You've created such richness and depth with your references/timing/storytelling. There is so much to unpack here with every gut punching line you've justly stated. Ty for your work and wish you every success and blessing on your journey.
I keep playing it over and over, hit home with me, Kanye was a major influence to me. I can't bring myself to disagree with ANYTHING she said in this piece, and the way she referenced his lyrics throughout this piece was just epic. Its not much you can say when YOUR OWN words are being used to describe who you are. I hope Ye get the message, he doesn't have to change, i just hope he gets the message
Wake up Mr. West!!! We miss who you used to be and are still praying for the genius you are brother. Come back home soon. This sister just reminded me to pray.
I listened to Jasmine Man's Nicki Minaj about 5 years ago and it spoke to me then it was "Little Girl" .I was going through this spoken word phase when i was in the 9th grade.Years latter I see this poem and i'm still getting chills like this is my first time listening to her.JOB WELL DONE JASMINE !!!!CONTINUE TO SPEAK MY SISTER.
this is so deep. it taps into my spirit... my feeling when i see black men chasing white women. i always swear they are lost looking for home.... not a physical home but a comforting place that they have lost or never had.... the way they fuck up your name..... amen
Jaye Dunlap you say you "refuse to be taught anything by you animals" yet previously say "blacks are racist believe me your race taught us how to me". You are contradicting. If you hate white people the way you imply you do then why allow a race you hate teach you hateful ways? Don't be so ignorant in allowing history to repeat itself by dividing people solely off the color of their skin. Grow up.
no jasmine cannot have all this power, this is pure amazing already watched it twice like man man, there aren't many words here to say just the power of lyrical content amazes me, great job, i think we all feel like kanye lost himself somewhere in the fame .
This is one of the most beautiful messages I have ever seen this is exactly what the majority of our young talent needs to hear today especially black men and they need to realize that there is much more to our unity than they think and how much they are giving up by giving themselves to their enemy
As a poet this is absolutely awesome. The prose are superb. The message however is a bitter angry woman who hasn't gotten over it. But the poem itself was great.
I remember seeing her do this at BNV 2015 before it was completely done. It is just as beautiful now as it was all of those months ago. Why is she just the most amazing person?
I think most early fans of Kanye are disappointed in him. I hear what she's saying, but I think she puts too much importance on Kanye and who he should be. Kanye is not a revolutionary, a hero, or a black leader, never was. He's a musician and celebrity. Period.
Kanye promoted himself and his music as something "revolutionary." I bought his very first album but has since come to hate the narcissistic jackass! His legacy on music will be nothing more than a parody on Saturday Night Live or South Park....
Powerful and Soulful in its beauty, thank you for helping me remember Def Poetry Jam, A Tribe Called Quest among others who spoke truths. Thanks for helping me remember Classic Kanye 1.0; though fearing he would have shared a similar fate to Christopher Wallace & Tupac Shakur, if his music was not hollowed out for the masses.
TO EVERYONE SAYING SHE IS HIS EX-GIRLFRIEND: It's not true! She wrote this as a disappointed fan. I attended one of Jasmine Man's live readings and she explained the story behind it. She said that College Dropout was what made her want to write poetry and that as a fan of Kanye she was upset when she saw how far he'd strayed from his original message and how she doesn't think he's properly giving back to the black community that pretty much gave him his career. She printed out almost every work of art Kanye's ever done and highlighted everything she saw that was contradictory and then wrote this poem about it. Jasmine initially imagined this poem as being said by an old lady. She imagined Kanye going back to his old neighborhood in Chicago and some grandma coming up to him and inviting him into her kitchen and then just ripping into him like this. But then she realized an older person probably wouldn't know all these cultural references and his songs so she rewrote it from the perspective of a lover he might have left behind in Chicago when he went chasing after fame. Jasmine Mans never dated Kanye. I don't even think she's met him. She took artistic license with this. Anyway long rant but basically it's a beautiful poem so stop dismissing this as some salty ex-girlfriend bullshit because it's not.
It's a shame this kind of poetry and art isn't getting the publicity it respectfully deserves
because it's knowledge. What she is teaching is knowledge self awareness. She teaches you how to be selfless instead of selfish. ..But they want you to teach ignorance to the world, instead of truth to the world...ijs...
Exequelley it shouldn't be this shit trash. All she doing is hating
Steph Curry The G.O.A.T
From the mouth of children comes the dumbest shit. *pats on head*

I somehow forgot the password. I would appreciate any help you can offer me.

She clearly is a big Kanye fan that's has become disappointed in him. This was great.
+KinGAdil019 Very dissapointed endeed hey
jasmine mans is his ex girlfriend
We are? Are you sure about that?
for me I think the black woman has been put down and disrespected for so long that they're born practically insecure and self conscious, cause of society and us black men. Even though I didn't like black women when I was younger cause I always felt they dissed me cause of my interests and/or mannerisms, I'm older and appreciate ya'll.
KinGAdil019 it's literally his ex girlfriend
If you haven't been a Kanye west from the very beginning the you won't understand how great this poem is!
Breion Allen right omg
Breion Allen nah it's trash. All she doing is hating
Steph Curry The G.O.A.T Is she not telling the truth?
vangie 2sing she is telling the truth...Kanye was so pro black and then he lost his mom. Slowly crashed n burned after that
What part of Jasmine's words were hate...and don't say ALL of them because that's a cop out. Choose a line or two to validate your claim that what Jasmine's saying is hate, if you can't do that then guess what...YOU"RE HATING!!!!

Joe McCoy it's reminiscent of Maya Angelou poem on the Richard Pyror Show
beautiful
Joe McCoy
" Could you hear all of the lights? The flashing lights , the new slaves , the runaways on their road to redemption waiting for Malcolm West to have the whole world at attention." The entendres in this sentence alone is amazing
"Why is he out signing sneakers while the southside is outlined in chalk?"
Secret EyeSpot the chalk is used in crime scene investigation to mark where a body was resting
Donovan Pinder Sherlock you've done it again!
The quote was quoted out of respect, not out of need for explanation..
Donovan Pinder only in movies.
It's outlining sneakers lol
She didn't just whoop Kanye, she whipped the asses of a whole bunch of rappers and entertainers.
Sedrick Jones 80% of the lyrics are Kanye's
I've watched it over and over since its been posted. The power behind this, my God. She's one of my favorites.
I agree

Student Of Fear me too I miss Dr. Donda West and her son Kanye Omari West. I dont know this guy who married Kim Kardashian thats not Donda's son
"Do you regret the Marilyn Monroe in your decision and wish you could've taken Billie Holiday as your bride?" O_O *runs around the room*
Angela Roulette 😂
What does that line mean?
@Ashley Lawrence
It means do you wish you would have married a Black woman instead of a White woman
High Vibes Kim isn't "white" tho, she's Armenian from her dads and other things from her moms. So that's why the line didn't make sense to me too.
Thank you, High Vibes!

I look at this daily, her dramatic approach and delivery is perfect

This is one of the most beautiful messages I have ever seen this is exactly what the majority of our young talent needs to hear today especially black men and they need to realize that there is much more to our unity than they think and how much they are giving up by giving themselves to their enemy
This is penetrating and thought provoking. Her delivery is timeless, passionate and filled with concern.
I'm white. And I agree with you, completely, and also I'm in love with you and your beautiful words. Thank you.

You are an incredible talent. #blessings
Still listening in 2021 & forever🥰🧚🏽🧚🏽
I feel like this is the response to Homecoming *years later obviously* from the perspective of Chicago personified...
Period.
You do have a point.
My feelings exactly...
Kanye promoted himself and his music as something "revolutionary." I bought his very first album but has since come to hate the narcissistic jackass! His legacy on music will be nothing more than a parody on Saturday Night Live or South Park....
