It's kinda obvious though. His style is really distinct and he does most of the coolest action scenes in AoT.

Bro some people forget that armin didn't back out, like he said he didn't run. Erwin with all respect, lost faith and began to doubt himself and his goals until levi "cheered" him up.
Yeah, I saw that smile in his face whenever Levi gave him the order to lead the recruits and die. Caught it in my second time watching the anime, and it made me feel better.

@@alaa341g after rewatching the anime, I am glad Armin survived, even though Erwin is one of my favorite character. I know that Armin seems to be depressed and regretting being alive, but he regained my respect when I saw his face after being shot multiple times in his face.

As someone who only watches anime .. The excitement of this arc is more exciting to me than the whole of Season 4. I don't know, maybe because the mappa took it, the excitement is gone, but it's still a great story

anyone else think its kinda crazy the only one to have a successful mission was the smallest team and supposedly up against the strongest titan, I mean really, you have all the recruits, Levi, and Erwin and you cant get the beast titan and then you have the rest of hange squad fighting the armored but the only one to capture a titan was Eren and Armin, like no matter how you look at it that shot was Armins, only reason a titan was caught was because of him, no one else deserved that shot even if in the long run Erwin would've been smarter(of course I bet the next couple chapters Armin is gonna be the one who stops it all and finally be called the right choice) but seriously Levi you couldn't capture the beast titan so you don't really deserve to have the choice, Armin got it for a reason I mean since the show started he has been the only actually good thinker, trost, finding out who Annie, Reiner and Berthold were, capturing Berthold. Like at that end when everyone said Erwin is the only reason they made it that far I was like wdym, since humanity started winning(since the show started) all the great victories were because of Armin, I mean Erwin saved Eren from reiner but that really wasn't a plan it was just fucking YOLO.
Erwin created the Scouts. Before him they were nothing. He is the driving force for every single innovation and all the things they know about the Titans are his brainchild and decisions. He found and recruited Levi, who is even to this day the single most powerful soldier they have. He created the research and development section of the Scouts. He fought tooth and nail for the interdependence and funding of the Scouts and used every means possible to further the cause of the Scouts in the minds of the people.
It was him that planned the way to save Eren and get him to the Scouts. It was him that caught on the fact that spies were inside the Walls.It was him that created the trap that almost got the female Titan caught. It was him that created the plan to catch the female Titan even inside the inner Walls by using himself as a bait against the enemies of the Scouts inside the Walls (Armin just managed to guess who the female Titan was since he personally knew her). It was him that led the Scouts in all of their struggles, planned the Coup for God's sake and established friendly relations with the rest of the army enough for them to listen to them.
But I guess a lucky guess about who the female Titan was is enough for someone to forget that it was Erwin that knew first that there were spies in the Walls and was already trying to find them before Armin even knew about it. Oh, and the fact that he almost caught her...she escaped because they didn't know that she could summon the rest of the Titan to her aid like she did.
Levi defeated all the Titans between him and the Beast Titan, a Titan that had them cornered and even if Armin and the others were out there, they wouldn't be able to even reach the Beast Titan. It was the perfect cordon and none was able to reach him. They would die just like the rest.
Mikasa herself admitted that Levi is a far more experienced and stronger soldier than she is and is unlikely she would be able to defeat him unless he was severely injured.
Between the two teams, the outside was by far the most dangerous. The armored Titan was a known danger and they could to a degree predict his attack patterns and defeat him. The colossal Titan was an extremely dangerous opponent, but he is slow moving and they could possibly escape him if necessary. But the Beast Titan? They don't know anything about him. He remained in a place without any trees or buildings and he bombarded them from a safe distance while his Titans - several dozens of them - moved to box them in. What exactly would any of our heroes have done differently than Erwin? Answer, nothing. They couldn't have done anything to change the situation. It was the perfect trap and they fell for it.
Erwin leading that assault was the only thing they could do, and none BUT Erwin could have pulled that off. Because Erwin was the only one everyone respected enough to follow him to their death.
So no, the fact that even after the fact they still wish it was Erwin they used the serum to is completely justified. Levi used it on Armin because he wanted Erwin to finally have peace and not to be forced to bear the weight of his guilt for every person that died on his orders. Logically speaking, Erwin was the one they needed. Choosing Armin was more of an emotional decision and later on even Mikasa and Eren can't refute it.
@@kpetalis The story isn't over, and it seems like Armin is about to have his time, and I was completely discrediting Erwin but since the show started he hasn't done god's work, as I stated since the show started whenever he does something and is successful lots of ppl normally die, such as the Beast titan at the end of season 3 which wasn't even successful, he had Levi the strongest warrior and the biggest army and failed to capture the beast titan.
Armin and Eren were the only ones successful in capturing a titan, the only reason they can use the serum is because of Armin's plans, Armin also found the titans walls, Armin throughout the story in recent months since he became a scout has been much more useful than Erwin.
The only times Erwin has truly been successful is when all those soldiers died and he saved Eren in season 2, or when all those people died and they captured Annie and didn't get anything from it, what other big success has he had since Eren joined them, he has the greatest weapon and the most military strength yet Armin has been far more useful, stating how Erwin has more total successes but completely ignoring how he's been a scout WAY longer than Armin is not fair. Since Armin became a scout "in recent times" he has been at least as useful as Erwin.

" also once again completely ignoring how he has more time as a scout, the only reason he was the only one respected enough is because what he did long ago and how he is the commander, that is no fair way at looking at who is more useful for the future, if Armin was commander it would be the exact same with him but once again what did that charge lead them to, I'll tell you right now it wasn't a success actually it killed the majority of the scouts and didn't even lead to capturing the Beast titan.
So let's give Erwin the success of getting the majority of the scouts killed and not even completing his final mission? Also it was stated multiple times in the series that the colossal titan is the strongest, you said the outside was the most dangerous which I do in fact agree with but that doesn't change a loss from a loss now does it? He still failed his final mission and you cant say "well it was the hardest mission therefore it doesn't really count as a mission failed because it was unfair due to the other two", that's not how they looked at it, they looked at it as they need to win not that "oh we have the hardest so were gonna lose and that's that".
The colossal titan was captured and eaten, the person who captured him and would've died to capture him deserves to eat him, you cant change my mind on that, if the Beast Titan was caught I may agree that Erwin should of been the one but that isn't the case, the only reason they had the option of using the serum is because of Armin and therefore Armin is the one to get it, and once again you completely ignore how Eren wouldn't just work with them the same, the only person he would've trusted after that would most likely be Mikasa and I'm sure he would've actually teamed up with Zeke if given the chance and we saw how much hell everyone was in when they thought they teamed up, in no world is Eren teaming up with Zeke and Erwin getting revived better than Armin getting revived and Eren helping them. "of course that's all speculation but I am positive Eren wouldn't willingly work with Levi and them if given the choice to work alongside his brother to kill the people that "killed" Armin.
Of course you can think Erwin is the better choice and I can think Armin is the better choice but these final chapters should decide who the better choice is since everyone is so sure Armin is about to have his time to shine.
Also every time you stated Erwin's "wins" in the anime, they all end the same now don't they, "he almost caught her but they didn't know she could yell" or the other thing I stated "all his "successes end in major deaths", he saved Eren by being reckless and yoloing as I clearly stated in my original comment, that is no true way a commander should win, without a true strategy, the only reason they lived from that dumbass plan is because Eren had that power if he didn't that would be the last episode of the show and every scout would be dead, so you're gonna credit Eren being saved when Eren is legit the ONLY reason they all didn't die that day and they would all be dead because Erwin's "plan" was a complete bust, like who would credit Erwin for that win, everyone legit said the only reason anyone made it out was because of Eren, all Erwin did was lead them to hell whereas Eren brought them out of hell and brought them back to Earth.
@@AquaticGamZe It seems to me you wish to discredit Erwin just because he wasn't the big Shonen hero. Well I'm sorry but in this anime it isn't the Shonen hero that saves the day. It is meticulous preparation and sacrifice, just like in real life.
I gave you all the examples before. He created the Scouts from scratch. It is stated that the only period the Scouts had any success was during his command. He created Hangi's team, the research and development team in order to systematically analyze the Titans and find everything they could about them. He personally created the Scouting method they use to minimize loses leading to a drop of combat loses of more than 70% than what it was.
He fundamentally changed the training regiment of the Scouts creating the teams we see in the anime that helps in better coordination and response time, again revolutionizing the Scouts, minimizing loses and leading to a better trained and better equipped regiment.
He found and recruited Levi. He searched for everything that could help the Scouts and has friendly relations with the other regiments so as to have their support in pursuing goals that go against the nobility or the Crown. It was he that organized the Coup during the second season, and the coup was successful. Did Armin do that too? It was Erwin that negotiated with the rest of the army and it was his relationship with the rest of the high command that led to a successful coup and the enthronement of Historia.
As for the female Titan. It was Erwin that suspected that spies were in the Walls, not Armin, he didn't even know about them until Johnny and Bean were killed and if you remember he comments that those checks were commander Erwi's plan to put presure in what he then finally suspected was spies in the Walls. He led them into a marry chase and almost captured an enemy he knew nothing about, just like Armin knew nothing about them. I'd like to see you come as close to success as he was when working with almost nothing. Don't go and try to say he should have done this and that, think about what "He" knew and work with what he had. Armin knew nothing at that point so he couldn't have helped in anyway. Instead he would go to Erwin for advice.
And the attack to save Eren? They had nothing at that point and had to use everything in order to save him because if they lost Eren, then they were back to square one. It was a desperate gamble and it worked. And Armin was there and he couldn't do anything better than what Erwin did, so don't go saying he could have done better.
What I'm saying is that you have to be objective about this things. Objectively speaking Erwin is the better choice. He has the guts to make the necessary choices. His organizational skills are phenomenal, he created the Scouts from nothing, and his negotiations have earned the Scouts the trust and help of the rest of the Army. If he had been given the serum, he would have been an enormous help to the Scouts and his country.
I'm not saying Armin is a bad choice. He has the makings of a great strategist and he is a really brave soul, but his successes have been built in the preexisting plans of Erwin. He improves on plans that are already there with new information that he had. He is not on Erwin's level being able to have an answer to a situation he knows nothing about.
@@kpetalis I clearly stated I don't wish to discredit Erwin, but saying Erwin is the reason Eren got saved is dumb when everyone stated they would be dead if it wasn't for Eren's power, I simply not looking at this on an unfair scale like you are, you are looking at it as Erwin's better because in his many years with the scouts he has done more than Armin has done in a couple months, like no shit he's been a scout, the commander of the scouts at that for way longer than Armin has been in the scouts, that is not a fair comparison on who is more important too the future, you look at their future abilities not at their accomplishments long ago, it works the same when players are looking to play for a team in the NFL, they don't look at what the player did 5-6 yrs ago, no one is gonna say Brady is better than Mahomes currently because Brady is more accomplished that's just a dumb way of looking at things, Erwin is more accomplished but I think it's pretty clear he isn't and wouldn't be as important as Armin will be in the future.

Probably because he already knew that Armin was going to sacrifice himself for that plan and knowing without a doubt he would die while stalling time for him, but he didn't expect that he would live and that got his hopes up.
