My first car was a '71 Barracuda that I bought in 1977 for $1200. It had 77K miles on it with a 318 and a 3 speed manual on the floor. It was the same bronze color as that Challenger. I put a set of ET slotted aluminum wheels on it with 60's on the back and '70's on the front. It wasn't fast, but it looked fantastic. I got so many thumbs up when I drove it. Should have hung on to it...not just for the value, but the cool factor...it was a great car!
Perfecto. Did it sell, for how much! Great color, interior, gator top etc. Absolutely cherry. Buddy and I got one just like it w black top. Sitting in someone’s yard with a couple primer painted spots, around 1980 for $700! We were 17, so we really raced it. Many highways were new back then. And some were built, not opened yet with no on/off ramps etc. Fresh black top. Gas guzzler muscle cars were “a dime a dozen,” at that time! One of my driver sayings then, was- “You’re exit comes up quick, when you’re going a buck 30!” 😂😀🏆🇺🇸
This is very nice, I had one in 1980 but sold it upon entering the Marine Corps. I'm now 59 and want one again to experience again the thrill this car provided me in my youth.
Alligator skin top and a sunroof car, man that has gotta be a rare combination, also so this form of the hood had the same thing going as the shakers where you could open and close the vents from the dash as well? also its funny how this bronze varried from car to car, on some ebodies they looked to be a reddish brown metalic, others it was just straight brown like I forget the name of it, as theirs a 71 Cuda in this color that is by far the most beautiful mopar convertible I've ever seen, and it didnt even have a shaker hood, the high risk one hemmings muscle machines did a few years ago 440 Six Pack Convertible, just beautiful
I hope there's no fake story about how this is a legendary race car that some guy said his dad secretly drove back in the day like the Black Ghost just to sell it for a ridiculous price later.
A seat belt might keep you from wrecking that beautiful car, as it will keep you in front of the steering wheel when inertia takes you for a ride. I also recommend lights on at dusk. Just sayin 😊
Nice car but dude you need to learn how to drive a car that you kept putting the clutch in going down the road that car is made to whine the piss out of it!
What a sad video.......guy drives like granny.....and the 426 was over rated...advertised at 425 horsepower, but that was the old fake gross rating dropped in 1972. The REAL net horsepower is only 350 at 5,000 rpm, or 365 at 6,000. A 2022 5.7 puts out 375 net, and does the 1/4 mile in 13.7 at 4300 pounds, this 13.6 at 3800 pounds. This car is all show and no go....all for looks. I dont think the dude driving owns it either.
I had a 70 et b5 blue 383 4spd back in the day all I kept was the rally hood and put it on an 81 dodge truck in 91 l was the 1st to put a challenger hood on a truck and painted it Plum crazy purple still have the hood on my heml orange Mudbogger
You shifting gears too quick. Those muscle cars carborators opens up as you push on accelerator pedal till the rpm reaches 3 to 3.5 at least then you can hear the beautiful sound of powerful engine and enjoy the ride.
One of the best things about cars from the 60's and 70's, the interior color matches the paint color.
Rare model with Power Sunroof and Power Windows. Love the color! Wow, what a dream machine.

That pistol grip is too freakin cool, love it.
Automotive perfection. I'd much rather have it than the yellow Corvette in the background.
Great muscle car!!!! Beautiful paint. And detail
In today's sea of white, black or silver cars, this baby is breath of fresh air. Outstanding appearance.
Outstanding Challenger. I had a 1972 Challenger, Hemi Orange, Black Vinyl Roof, Black Interior, 340 Automatic.

SEMPER FI BABY....
A 2022 with 5.7 V-8 puts out 375 net HP and will beat any 426 at 350 net hp or SRT at 485.....so buy a new one.

On how a car should be ordered from the factory. That probably 1 of 1 built that way.
Can't say one thing negative about this badass car the color combination is exceptionally cool don't see it that often.
Beautiful car, what isn’t there to like ? Every man’s Dream car listen to the Throaty sounds of that Hemi , Wow !
That copper color paint is sick
That sunroof is wicked
sunroofs are for girls....
ESPETACULAR !!! BEAUTIFUL Muscle car !!!
I had a 1970 440 six pack, they are meant to be driven hard!
Judging from this video, the 426 was not...
dream car

Nice ride.
Beautiful color interior too😊
SWEET RIDE!
i actually like that sunroof concept. how long and what all did it take? i imagine lots of modifications.
That Challenger is a perfect one!!
Nothing short of awesome! Nothing like the King Kong Elephant Motor! My dream car, alongside the Viper.
How is a 426 motor that puts out 350 horsepower net a King Kong? LOL....the newer 2022 5.7 is just as quick at 375 net

It’s a clone, I’d drive it everywhere. 318 car. Must say beautiful though.
That ain't no 318...you must mean what it used to be.

How many 1970 Challengers were built with that power sunroof?
None.

Cool asf❤❤

Good!
Dude, floor it sometimes. It's a HEMI.
Nices
Is that all factory?
4:55 - Fuel gauge is on E. Get used to that.
Tach. Broken? SE window with a sunroof? Never
No one seems to mention the SE small rear window.
Copper or....Burnt orange....?
Hope the price reflects the fact that none of the original guages were working in the car.
This one sold very quickly at our asking price. Of course we fixed all the gauges prior to my customer taking delivery
@@reedlampe7375 how much did it go for
How much 100 grand
like all the hemis its out of gas gas guage was kissing the E lol
Just a clone...I wonder how much the dealer sucker punched somebody???
Mopars second best HEMI
tach and gauges don't appear to work
no to the sunroof
Tach was not working
How do you dare to drive it?
Very nice, except the incorrect and hideous tires.
Nice car but dude you need to learn how to drive a car that you kept putting the clutch in going down the road that car is made to whine the piss out of it!
It's a bad habit you pick up, i used to do that too in the city, wind up coasting a lot. But with an engine like that it saves gas.
400k car
I sold my 70 340 4 sp shaker for $800. Plum crazy w/white vinyl top & interior. PS, PB, 3.23.
