if you want to have thick yoghurt try buying greek yoghurt or yoghurt from turkish supermarkets (which are everywhere in germany). They are usually really thick and creamy 🧡
She can also mix Speisequark with Greek yoghurt! It has the same effect! Koreans usually eat very thick yoghurt and Quark will give them that consistency.
Your German pronunciation sounds very good! Maybe try watching some German series with Korean subtitles? That way you will get a hang on typical expressions and pronunciation quite quick. You are doing great so far!
@@iny._. Haha ich liebe auch kdramas mehr als deutsche Serien etc. aber es gibt ja auch so viele Serien mit deutscher Synchronisierung. Da wird sich schon was finden xD
Glad to see that you're slowly settling in better!! That eggplant beef rice bowl looks absolutely delicious and I hope your presentation went well! Stay warm eyol 💖
If it makes you feel better, I've worked and studied in german for the past 5 years and I still make mistakes with the articles 😅and even my german coworkers make article mistakes sometimes. So don"t worry too much, you'll get the hang of it!! Eyol fighting !! 💜💜
Your German pronunciation is soooo good, and the comment that you made about how can Germans remember all the articles and such, I feel the same way with Korean (I'm German studying in Korea) XD there are so many expressions and I get so confused when to use what. I hope you like Germany and enjoy your time there!
props to you for trying your best in German!! it is a difficult language I know that for sure. good luck!! oh and maybe you didn't know but right now in Germany gas and electricity are very expensive so maybe they decided to be more thrifty in your building :) be careful if you pay additional charges and electricity bills to your rent because you might be surprised of prices going up at the end of the month.
Yes, the same in Finland. That is why I don't even want to use the oven at all now. If I use the stove, I cook so much food at once it lasts me the whole week and I just need to microwave the food. But it is boring to eat the same food for so many days in a row but what can you do 🙃
i can only second this! it's really worth it to invest in a thick sweater and some thermal wear (leggings, socks, etc) for winter to wear inside because heating costs are through the roof. the one-time investment will come out far cheaper than the cost of turning on the thermostat. generally german buildings are designed to keep heat in though, so you should be fine during the winter months - it won't get much colder inside than it is now.
I would recommend already buying warm clothes and gloves, because it’s gonna get even colder!! 😢 I would also recommend buying readymade soups from the supermarket, such as spring soup or alphabet soup! They’re really good and keep your stomach full. (Also because of the cold weather😂)
Its quite interesting to watch your videos because of your perspective. I’m German and have often wondered how foreign people learn German (it is often difficult for locals too). I wish you all the best for your time in Germany.
turkish supermarkets have really thick and creamy yoghurts and are generally cheaper, they also have more spices and things you can't find in german supermakets
You're right that painkillers are usually only sold at pharmacies, stores like dm only have natural medicines like tea, supplements and so forth. But don't worry about going to a pharmacy, you don't need a prescription for most things and people there are very friendly. I take Excedrin for migraines and get it there :) And if you ever need anything they don't have (whatever that is as long as it's some kind of medicine or wellness aid) you can order it and they will have it within a day or two!
Ahh I took a lot of German language classes in college and it got so hard for me in the intermediate levels, it’s such an interesting language but higher levels had my brain like 😵💫 so I know the struggle. I hope at least being in Germany makes it slightly easier for you since exposure in everyday situations isn’t optional 😅😅😂 see you next video!
I find your vlogs so entertaining, I started university this week and despite having a C1 certificate in German I feel like I don't understand anything, crying is now part of the routine. I hope you learn a lot.

Hi eyol! I'm also doing an exchange year here in the US. I'm in my High school year and will be here for the next 10 months. I can relate to you with your adaptation with the weather, culture, school system, language, diet, so and so. I'm happy that you have someone to sit with and hangout with because they surely are the ones who will make you happy. I'm glad that you can find the things you love to do while also exploring beyond your comfort zone. You have comforted me with your daily vlogs and I'd be happy to see more. Thanks for sharing with us! 💕
Your heating in the building might not be on yet. And this year it will be limited. Good for getting the hot water bottle, it is such a lifesaver. Husband and I just got an electric blanket so that we don't have to use our heating much.
haha I love your little animations at the end and always try to guess while watching the vlog. I hope everything is okay eyolie please take care of your health! You can try thermal socks if your feet is freezing they are not that stylish but it really helps. See you again 💜
It is very likely that they just haven't turned the heating on, dw! Mine isn't turned on yet either (it's actually still pretty warm outside for this time of year, usually it would be colder and with the energy crisis, they might try to push it even more). You could ask neighbours or management when they turn it on and if it doesn't work then definitely ask them, they have to fix it (for free)! Your landlord cannot leave you without working heating in the winter. But hot water bottles and warm comfy clothes might still be necessary
Welcome to Freiburg Eyol :) I go to the same university and live near Freiburg. So happy to see you here and slowly adjusting. If you need any help, you can always reach out. Enjoy Germany
Hi eyol 😊, you are so brave and I wish you all the best for your time and your studies in Germany. You live in Freiburg, I live only an hour away. Thank you for your videos. 😊🌷
I'm not sure if it's sold in Germany, but Skyr is a really thick Icelandic yogurt, it's so great :) I'm also learning German and we have the same workbook
hey eyol, if you come to frankfurt or surrounding and need somebody, who will show you around, let me know! I did my exchange semester in seoul and I loved it, so I feel responsible you have a good time as well here in germany! love your videos and keep going!
Hi eyol! I a watching your channel for over a year and really enjoy it. Now I have found out that you are in my home country, not very far away and I am very happy to see your new content 😊 by the way: the red tooth paste you bought is from my home town. So funny! You are a very very brave girl!
Be happy that your mensa varies the dishes so much. A classic in my student days was: day1: pasta with sauce, day2: pasta salad, day3: stir fried pasta, day 4: pasta casserole. Perish the thought that all the pasta had been cooked that first day :-) It is normal to ask what is in the different breads, rolls and pastries. And Freiburg is big enough that I'd imagine most store clerks being able to communicate in english. The only problem I see is that the korean accent (only guessing, I can't realiably differentiate between the asian alphabets, sorry) is very unusual to european ears, so it could take a while, but don't be afraid to ask what is in these or what they would recommend. That store would've had herbal pain relief, for the real medicine you have to go to the apothecary. If you really have migranes (as in the medical condition, not just head aches) you might get them cheaper by first going to the doctor, but that is not very probable. Best way to study: go with a friend or several to the library, study for hours and just have company so you don't want them to see you slack off, go for a coffee, stay long enough to feel bad about it, learn until night to make up for it. Before I went to university I never imagined that it could be normal to study for 10 hours a day :-) The secret to staying warm is playing the onion game. Layers. I really like your videos. It's interesting to see, how people from other countries come to Germany. But you shocked my German heart so much with the bread in the pan. 😖 Its actually for breakfast or the evening. You eat it cold with a little bit of "Margarine" or "Butter". And on the top you can put what you want, like cheese or sausage. (Käse, Salami, Wurst, schinken).
Hey, im German and a student too and I can recommend some Apfelpfannkuchen (apple pancakes), they're quick to make and best with Puderzucker or Zimt (cinammon) Zucker. And if you'll do avocado toast more often I'd recommend some Kräutersalz (salt with herbs) which also comes in handy if something's too bland 👀
3:18 isn’t that the Korean tv show/program home alone ? I think that’s the episode in which crush appeared. His dogs are so cute ❤and I love him as an artist
About the heating in your room maybe it's turned on only when it gets colder (especially because the prices of gas and electricity are going up) or it may be stuck because it has been off for so long
hii i dont know if you will see this but ive been watching your videos as a 'break' from doing work and i absolutely love them im definitely subscribing
That Mensa used to have a pay by weight section that had a bigger variety of food and you could buy what you want! Maybe it is still there in the back. I studied abroad in the same town. 😌
eyol!!! you are working so hard!! I hope you get some time to rest please take good care of yourself and we are so proud of you wishing the best for you ❤
That fat eggplant is called aubergine 😂😂 And yes it is normal it has visible seeds you can eat them. Omg you're just like me I hated eggplant for the same reason when I was a kid and only this couple of years I started to love them so much.
Hey, one of your older videos got randomly recommend to me on yt and I kept wondering for half of the video why everything seemed so familiar. You're in my hometome! I used to study here as well (but spent most of my time at the Institutsviertel since I studied pharmacy - I also prefered the mensa there, idk why). Also, this older video made me really sad. I'm sorry you met so many rude people here on your first day. Usually people (especially at uni) are really nice around here. Ha, I kinda got wiplash seeing the new UB (it was built when I was still studying and finished in my last semesters). Still remember crying there silently a couple of days before my exams. I hope your studying days will be much brighter!

Hey Eyol! For translating German you can use Deepl, it's better than Google translate (English to German). It's a life saver!
Yes it is :D I just watched it recently so I also recognized it
Your German pronunciation in the last seconds was really good! You’re doing well :) ❤

You know what..I am going to try following your instructions and make eggplant meal today 😈
About the heating in your room maybe it's turned on only when it gets colder (especially because the prices of gas and electricity are going up) or it may be stuck because it has been off for so long
Your German pronunciation is so good!!
hii i dont know if you will see this but ive been watching your videos as a 'break' from doing work and i absolutely love them im definitely subscribing
Wow, your german pronounciation is good! Keep up the hard work
Wow your german pronunciation is so good!!
Omg you're just like me I hated eggplant for the same reason when I was a kid and only this couple of years I started to love them so much.
eggplant and aubergine are the exact same thing. its like calling a fat courgette a zucchini.
