Beach scenes from early in the morning at Batu Bolong Beach in Canggu, Bali.
The surf was clean at 7;30am when I got there and it was a very low tide.
A pretty lady snapped her longboard on this day, she must have been caught inside when a big set washed through.

Places like this where people learn and start to love to surf, even if they look silly at first, is why the sport is alive and growing, This is what surfing is about... Everyone having a fun experience and trying to catch a wave.

Main thing is no one gets hurt and people don't do dangerous stuff. This isn't beginner conditions
I'd love to have had a place like this when I was learning how to surf. Where I learned, all waves are strong as fuck, even the small tiny ones. Usually really steep as well.

Nah cooks kooks are people who think they can teach themselves and hurt themselves/others in the process. Your average Joe learning wipes out, doesn't drop well/at all, etc...nothing to really laugh at. Everyone starts somewhere after all. Kooks are hysterical and seem like they're trying to kill themselves.

We surfed Canggu several times back in 82 no crowds just rice paddies and one local young Balinese guy selling Jaffels that’s all that was there Medowie was the same !

I've just been glassing a surfboard in England at 12 degrees trust me its a whole new science I;m too impatient to wait for spring. I eventually resorted to heaters and my heating bill put the price of building the board up by £20 on top of £135 for materials
My arm would flip out of its socket if I spun it around like that. Not sure if that's proper stretching
