I just used these masks and I LOVED them. I am a total rookie and these take your paint job to the next level. Super easy to use and works perfectly. I highly recommend them.
Man, the deer were so beautiful. Reminds me of the one and only time my dad took me hunting when I was about 13. There was a deer that happened upon us and somehow didn't know we were there. It was then that I realized what an animal lover I am as I could not even raise the gun when my dad asked me what I was going to do and I told him I could not shoot take a shot. He didn't shame me or or any way make me feel less a "man" for not wanting to shoot. While he never took me hunting again, he also never mentioned to anybody that had gone with us what had happened. While I love a good steak, I didn't need to kill the deer to eat. I'll never forget that day with my dad.
Some Falcon trivia: The orange areas in the Falcon interior are seat cushions. They are missing in later Falcon interiors. The thing you refer tentatively to as an escape pod is, indeed, just that. Also, many of the original Lucasfilm spaceship models were primed with black, and painted white, likely for the same reason you chose grey primer: it adds depth. Some of the weathering was achieved by lightly sanding the topcoat.
You all probably dont give a shit but does any of you know of a tool to get back into an instagram account..? I was stupid forgot the password. I appreciate any assistance you can give me
@Jay Edgar i really appreciate your reply. I found the site through google and im waiting for the hacking stuff now. I see it takes quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
Wouldn’t it be easier to paint the blue accents on with inverse paint masks so you don’t have all of tgat oversoray tgat affects the hue of the white top coat?
This was a nice, full show-- animal minute and all! Wish there was a way to indicate more than a single 'thumbs up.' Those 12V batteries are a compromise scheme in the battery world to begin with. I thing there's a way to isolate one current from another involving a diode. But I would still stick with 9V batteries which just have that much more ooomph over time in them. I think the strips are pretty good at 9V. There are "double pole" switches that can switch two circuits from one switch. Some fine day someone will get us modelers either a USB rechargeable set of lithium ion batteries OR a recharging mat set up that you can just lay the model on for a night. Plus all the happy little voltage regulators and such that work with LEDs or strip lights. That's a neat little model you've got there.
It's the room and what I have on hand. I have tiny tea light switches that are single pole, so that's what gets used. and two of those 12v batteries take up less space than a single 9v. Stone knives and bearskins, baby
Great video, thanks, awesome work !! Well done on the LEDs, thanks for the hints... Now let me unpack my set and try to be nearly as precise...good luck to me... A couple of things I may try differently (saw a japan video and another from Adam Savage) and I may start with a black primer (??) then do exactly what you did...also what kind of white are you using coz it really looks grey to me originally (aside from the access tunnel to the cockpit which is white?), maybe offwhite (which am having a real hard time to find)?? Again thanks for the vid looks awesome...
i like it but i would remove all weapons on my version kind of makes you think what are you gonna dow the windows in the center of the craft and or az a tech spec remove the entire thing ? make it a cruize ship
Good so hopefully you’re learning that putting shiny gloss paint on star war model kits makes them look like toys and using flat flat dusty paint makes your Star Wars model kits look movie prop ready to go
Sure seems like they cut corners on this kit. But I still love mine. Even found a gentleman online who had a spare set of landing gear and a boarding ramp, so I was able to build mine on the ground.
Think that they left out the engines out of the escape pod until after it is pulled out from the front then they just put them back into the back of it that way it fits better idk why they did that. An showed a trick to the lounge is air brush yellow first an may save time not sure everyone has a set way of starting things but a good job on this video not going to start on this 1/44 until I can find more LEDs an components hard to find anymore to light this kit
Where do you find your led strips? All i ever find are large spools that require connectors everytime you cut a piece off. Im looking to use a 9 volt battery set up
OK they made the landing gear spaces just in case you wanna take the landing gear from the other millennium falcon kit , this may be to encouraging you to buy both kits it’s just a money sales tactic
I wish I had an intelligent answer for you. basically I use the thinnest wire I can find and whenever I but LEDs, I get the prewired type. Before Radio Shack went belly up, I went there. You can still order from them online
Model build is great as is the paint work, that said, not that you asked,(in my opinion) the lighting in the cockpit & the hold/lounge is WAY TOO BRIGHT ! Again, just my opinion. Might be that it looks that way on camera and great in person. You know I love your work Lou, just a thought.
Oh never mind your model was looking good then I heard you were gonna put satin clear over your paint job which is going to give your model a shine making it look more like a toy never mind what I said in my previous comment
Nuuuuuhhh... The Millenium Falcon isn't supposed to be clean no matter who owns it. She's supposed to be a grundgy, beat-up, re-built, patched together, customised, modified, inherited, fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy. ;P
I just personally feel that all the changes Disney made in its Star Wars were completely necessary. I don't think any of the new designs were particularly inspired. The Solo version of the Falcon is hardly anybody's favorite from the muted, too clean look, that dumb cargo piece (which makes NO SENSE) and the radar dish sitting uselessly against the hull. Yeah, it looked better in the original trilogy! There may be new models this year but they're almost all from series that are dead or have very split fandom now (Star Wars, Star Trek). You can build and paint these things if you want but I hardly think the kits based on Solo, Star Trek: Discovery, or Star Trek: Beyond are going to be must-haves for many fans. Honestly, should anyone think more people would want to buy kits of the USS Franklin from Star Trek: Beyond (which is the LAST Kelvin-verse film that will probably ever be made because cast contract negotiations fell apart) or would more people want the 1/350 scale Reliant, the Starship more people want to build in that scale AFTER the USS Enterprise? I think it's obvious that even a $150 Reliant kit would do better for a company than a $50 kit based on a version of the Millennium Falcon nobody really likes. People will buy merchandizing based on the shows and movies that resonate, not things they don't care for...
whell good stuff me seen it a 100000 times and why thay think that macks a good cargo ship just one think i think of will see more me its birds but i get some fuzzys see the vid you know whare

Wakeman Edwards ❤️👍🏻
I would love to see that fully lit with fiber optic lighting kit

@Jay Edgar it did the trick and I finally got access to my account again. I'm so happy!
Thanks so much, you saved my account :D
@Dominik Tristian You are welcome xD
Looks great Lou! I love the masks for the blue panels!
I’m pretty sold for it to not have clear parts. Just cause it gives it the “studio” look. Thanks for sharing!
Falcon looks great and nice bucks in your yard too.

Awesome, Lou! (The model, too...)
Where do you find your led strips? All i ever find are large spools that require connectors everytime you cut a piece off. Im looking to use a 9 volt battery set up
I get mine at paragrafix. You do need to solder wire to them once you cut them apart
Don't play with your 'toy' Lou.......You'll go color blind...Really like the longer vids Lou....Great job on the Falcon!!!
Did you buy the masking sheet for falcon or did you make it yourself ???
Kinda both. I make the masks that are for sale
thanks will make a note of that in my next project, some great tips there thanks keep up the good work on your videos.
Awesome video! What color white did you use?
plain old Tamiya flat white
@@aztekdummy Thanks Lou
OK they made the landing gear spaces just in case you wanna take the landing gear from the other millennium falcon kit , this may be to encouraging you to buy both kits it’s just a money sales tactic
Do you do you decant your primers and use an air brush or spray straight from the can? Thanks
straight from the can...shaken not stirred
Dalmaso, Lou Dalmaso.
I love DupliColor primers and paint also.
just starting mine, what colour blue did you use?
it is regular tamiya flat blue with a couple of drops of field blue
Thanks that will help a lot. Keep up the excellent work
Lou, what wire do you use and where do you get it from ?. Cheers Steve
I wish I had an intelligent answer for you. basically I use the thinnest wire I can find and whenever I but LEDs, I get the prewired type. Before Radio Shack went belly up, I went there. You can still order from them online
I get deer's in my backyard also all the time.

Great job..one question do you make the masking or buy it??
I make the masking so you can buy it. it's kinda what I do
OK..how much and where I get it?
Looks to be a model that’s as difficult to put together as the film was.
I've got a nice, quiet little .222 with a laser sight that you can borrow, if you'll let me have one of the hams!
"ate its own foot" LOL
Love nature
Oh deer, oh deer, oh deer.
GROAAN...
