My parents been married for over 30 years and my dad still hasn't learned Italian 😂 except bad words, "wait", "5 mins" and that's about it... cause they sound funny in my family's dialect so he remembers. I used to go to my friend's Spanish class in college and me and the teacher would have a Italian and Spanish conversation 😂 was fun. But I'm a French native speaker so that helps with latin languages in general.

Indeed, my mom is Italian, my dad's born in Canada, but his dad was from France and his mom was Spanish from Algeria (they both passed)

For someone who speaks French it’s kinda easy to guess some words like for example Vida is Vie; De is de in French too just different spelling; Ti= Toi; porque= pourquoi; Que= quoi; plaja= Plage; Bella= Belle; and so many others ...
