I have never seen the skottle.. I’m in camp grounds quite a bit in the summer.. mainly hiking. Might buy one just to set up in my yard next to my Webber charcoal grill. Is it sturdy?
Just love watching your videos not only of your camping trip adventures across Canada, but all of your Instant Pot ones too ! Can't believe how you pack all your gear and family so efficiently and all of your recipes look so delicious. Thanks for sharing and looking forward to the next one.
I’ve never seen a skottle and it looks amazing for camping and we love camping! Just about everything can be stir fried. Thanks guys for another great cooking tool! 👍👍
Yep this is our usual camping meal. We have a old nicely seasoned piece of angle iron that I use over open fire the same way you do here. Makes great pancakes and other stuff too.
So excited! Thanks to all of your support and encouragement throughout this journey, I just launched my Patreon page! Hope you'll check it out! www.patreon.com/flolum
I do a dish I call tatars and eggs. Very similar. Difference is I somewhat cube the tatars. Fry until crispy and cooked through. Scramble 2 eggs per person with the seasoning added and milk for fluffed eggs. Pour directly over the tatars and mix all around. Stirring frequently until the eggs are cooked. Super yummy and filling!
I've watched a lot of your videos that were just Flo and your husband'a voice and I love you Flo, but now I've seen some videos that your husband has actually appeared in and I love him too. You guys make a great couple. Thanks for all the info.
Another recipe I'm in for ... my son works straight nights and I'm always looking for innovative ways to make him a "breakfast type" meal before he goes to work 'cause about all he as time for when he gets up is to grab something quick to eat. I was actually on your channel today to find another of your videos and came across this one that I hadn't seen so, decided to watch. Yummy! :-)
SKOTTLE? OMG it's been years, way back in South Africa the skottle was always an easy way to cook outside with the family. Did not know Canadians knew about this.
This is from 4yrs ago but it srill looked good. I suppose 'Camping' is a relative term in my case involving canvas and rain :-) but I reckon I could get something related going on a Primus Stove in a Billy Can. Help warm the tent up :-) while listening to the drum of rain on the canvas. Cosy!! On balance I think your camping looks better.
Yay! I been mulling over the skottle for quite some time cuz of the price but watching you use it during your travels got me so much closer to biting the bullet. A few more videos and you might get me to do it. lol
I hope you guys do an equipment summary (like the opposite of your start episode.) Am curious what worked well, if the Skottle was the best thing every or not etc! Also, how long does it take for the skottle to cool down so you can pack it up again?
I have so enjoyed watching your trip across Canada, but more amazed on how you have lived (mostly) in a small camping vehicle. I was ready to hit the "buy" button on a Skottle, but hesitated because of the small LP tank setup. In this video, I noticed that you have upgraded to a larger gas tank with an adapter, and not surprised. Are you still using the same burner grill that came with the small tank setup? Or did you change that out too? Again, thanks again for taking us with you on this trip!
Good eye. We brought the Skottle and a two-burner camp stove. We were also equipped with a 5lb tank, adapter hose and the small tanks as backup and when we used the Skottle and camp stove simultaneously. The single burner that came with the Skottle remains unchanged. I've added links to the hose and tank in the description. The Skottle is also our primary "grill" at home. Hope that helps!
As always, your recipe looks delicious! This is something my mom used to make when we were kids. :) Weekend breakfast! That skottle looks like a cool device, although I'd be afraid of burning my legs, lol. I'm enough of a klutz that I'd lean right into the thing. Are the edges extremely hot?
Flo your husband is just "too cool" he reminds me of Martin Starr in the hot wire hotel commercial Lol ! " a nice way to start he day... or don't...no pressure"
Flo you guy's must have not seen that commercial yet. Look this up on You Tube " hot wire no pressure zone".. You will see a bearded man in a silver suit sitting on a red velvet couch. When you watch the commercial, you will see what I mean and roll on the floor laughing ; )
I really like the thing you've cooking on. What is it and where do i get one? We go camping and this pan and three legged stand must be a blast. Please let me know how you found such a great idea?
It's called a Skottle, by Tembo Tusk. I discovered it while researching compact and versatile cooking solutions for the trip. We've linked the Skottle and accessories we used, in the description.
+Gamino LOL! If on purpose you mean I packed some outdoorsy clothes to wear on our trip, then yes. But I didn't wear it "on purpose" for this video. 😉 Glad you like the style.

I received your book yesterday and have been so impressed and will use it so much along with your videos. Thank you so much -both of you!
Thanks, Mary! Appreciate your support!
This was a campy and fun video. We always enjoy "The Taste" segment and the look that DudeLum gives the camera. Flo keep up the good work.

Thank you for the quick easy recipe... Definitely a camping breakfast dish
Yep this is our usual camping meal. We have a old nicely seasoned piece of angle iron that I use over open fire the same way you do here. Makes great pancakes and other stuff too.
So awesome. Nothing like a great meal while camping.
Thanks, John! That's the only way to go!
your convo with your hubby is very cute! makes the vids more interesting and personable.
Ha ha! Just a tiny glimpse into our everyday lives. 😉
You guys are my favorite youtube couple. "hey Maggie, I'm your Glenn" LOL'd at that one.

Excellent breakfast, very well done, I enjoyed watching you cooking! I will try this some morning when I'm camping! Thank you
Thanks, Ron! You don't have to wait until camping. You can make it now, at home! ;)
“Big chunks of garlic in my mouth”
Another great name for a rock band. A little tough to get on a t-shirt, but totally worth it. 😂
You two are too cute❣️
I have loved your videos for a long time. Thank you for the inspiration!

You're always so kind, Sandy! Thank you!

SKOTTLE? OMG it's been years, way back in South Africa the skottle was always an easy way to cook outside with the family. Did not know Canadians knew about this.
I only learned about it last summer! Mind you it’s just like a wok but for outdoors!
Looks delicious, Flo! Dude, you crack me up! "THE TASTE" LOL XOXO from Eagle Rock, CA
+Leslie Valenciano-Lopez Thanks, Leslie! Dude... forever the clown. 🤡😉

Thanks for this video! Would love to see more skottle videos please!
Thanks, Ted! While the weather is still nice, we will try to do some more.

That looks really good!!!!!! I want to go camping with you!!!!! I promise I wont eat much. LOL Thanks for the share
LOL! Appreciate the props!
If you like tomatoes, try some diced or sliced tomatoes in the mix and see if you like it.
That scramble looks so good and savory. I love breakfast for dinner so I'm going to have to make it soon and serve it over rice. More carbs. Ha!
+Peppy Pepe LOL! Never enough carbs! Thanks, let me know what you think!

+Sea BrzJo Thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed our vlogs. Hope Dude's response help in your skottle buying decision. 😊
I'm really liking the scottle...
It's just a lil too expensive for me.
Still like it tho!!
I am curious as to why you chose the Skettle over a wok and ring burner?
Because we were camping and cooking outside.
Food tastes better when camping.
LOL Thanks, Leslie! Totally sounds like something I would do! Dude says it's not as hot around the edges... not that I tried touching it.
Flo your husband is just "too cool" he reminds me of Martin Starr in the hot wire hotel commercial Lol ! " a nice way to start he day... or don't...no pressure"
LOL! Why?
Flo you guy's must have not seen that commercial yet. Look this up on You Tube

Great video, that skottle is awesome. And I think I need a little shelf for my Jeep tailgate, did you make it yourself?
Thanks! The tailgate table (Trailgater) is made by Outback Adventure Products
DudeLum Thanks Dude! 😀
Delicious breakfast
Thanks, Karin!
Ok I’m amazed. I never heard of a skottle Now I think it’s way cool!,,

DudeLum Thank you. I have ordered one but they seem to be on back order. I bet it's because of your wonderful cooking. Thanks again.
2 Tbsp of butter is a knob.
Oh totally digging the garb for the cook....outdoorsy if that's a word....was that on purpose? Not judging...but think it's cool!
+Gamino LOL! If on purpose you mean I packed some outdoorsy clothes to wear on our trip, then yes. But I didn't wear it "on purpose" for this video. 😉 Glad you like the style.
