Good guide Mark! And great looking wheels. The best 😊 Yeah, once the gear box is done the DT-02 is such a good enjoyable simple build, I agree. Weird with the CVA shocks. But weird all together with the shocks mounted the opposite way. That issue, coupled with the upper arms, the friction stock shocks, the bushings and the holes in the Holiday and Rover body is why I love the Gator and Viper even more 😁
Thank you, Mikael! Couldn't agree more, this is one quirky Tamiya, for sure! Love my Viper, too, but so glad I got this one, even with the little issues, it's a very cool buggy. I may look at fitting the front shocks the right way up with some metal strengthening plate for the shock tower. But loads to do and so little time, it may be a while! All the best as always, mate!
Hi Addam, sure is a fun little kit! I think if you get the standard black CVA's they should fit no problem, seems the yellow ones are bigger in diameter!?!?!? Cheers!
Another cool video Mark. Great hints and explainations👍👏👏👏 Good decision to showing the pogos and then putting on CVAs😁 The cable management is everytime an issue. Mostly because of the short cables of the ESC. To rearange the components should don't have any effect. If it's about weight, put some lead weight on the other side to balance it out.😉
Thanks Dirk! Hehe, those pogo sticks had to go! Yes, there wasn't much slack on those cables, we make do with what we have. And yeah, easy to balance the vehicle if it seems to be an issue. All the very best, my friend! 👍

I love the DT02, great chassis, so easy to build and runs really well. I enjoyed the build video, I love these videos, can't wait to see the finished buggy up and running:)
Thanks Barry, totally agree with you about this chassis! Glad to hear you enjoy these build videos, I know they can be a bit long, but it's hard to do and not miss out a useful point or two! Yeah, hope to get some run time soon. All the best! 👍
Nice to watch, as always, Mark! It's almost as if I'm building a DT-02 myself, although I've never even seen one in real life before, ha ha... I love that typical Tamiya strong design where the front and rear slides on to the main chassis and is screwed together from both top and bottom, it becomes quite strong that way. I was surprised to see the front shocks going in upside down, good thing you had those extra CVA's. I'll be looking forward to next episode, of course! All the best, my friend, and Happy New Year, it's pretty soon now...
Sorry for the late reply, Mads (I have Covid!!)! Always a pleasure to read you. The DT02 is a great, inexpensive Tamiya, I'm sure you would enjoy one, I'd love to see what you do for a body on one of these! Yes, it's a very sturdy design and handles well for a simple kit. I just may look at fitting those shocks the "correct" way up! I hope your New Year went well, all the best for 2022!
Hiya Mark. Another nice installment in the series. Tyres look good! That thing with the shocks needing to be upside down because of the body is a pain. While you are making a shock brace it might be worth making one that will allow the shocks to sit lower. Obviously you then need to reduce the shock length a little. I know you were saying that you didn't want to spend too much time so I guess see how it goes. Hey I spent a pleasant afternoon titivating that TA-01 chassis I've got. I've put in bearings and modern electronics and it's running lovely. Are you interested in the old radio gear? I've got a couple of Acomms 27mhz transmitters and receivers if you can use them. I know how much you like your wibbly wobblies! Anyway, I am also now enjoying the benefits of being off work. Hard to know which project to tackle next. I'm thinking about doing something outrageous and building one of my kits with no unboxing and no build series. Like we were discussing before it is a palaver to video and edit everything. Obviously kits bought by someone else I will always make a video but the ones I've bought myself I might just build. Anyway, best wishes mate 😁
Hiya Pete! Thanks, mate. Yeah I'll look at the shock placement later this year, gonna run it first! Wow, great to hear you got to work on that wonderful TA01 chassis! It's a peach, I'm telling ya! I'm with you on this build video malarkey, just doing a fast version for the Blockhead Wild One, a lot less faff just showing the odd progress and not every step, and hopefully less editing to boot. Enjoy the rest of your hols, take care and speak soon! :))
Hi Mark! Great video as usual! The DT-02 is my very first love... I was wondering why the front shocks were mounted upside down... compared to the Sand Viper for example. But I think this is the solution Tamiya found to make this beautiful Holiday Buggy bodyshell perfectly fit this nice chassis. If we don't see each other from here, I wish you a wonderful year 2022, let's make every moment a delight!
Hi Alex, sorry for the late reply. I am struggling a little at the moment. Now I have caught Covid 19, like you were, I am feeling very ill. Yes I agree, the DT 02 was my first Tamiya as I returned to the hobby 5 years ago. Thanks for the fine comments this last year, I am so happy to call you my friend. Let's hope things get better soon, mon ami.

It went together so nicely Mark! It does look great! Hope I am strong enough for getting some of those screws in, lol, maybe I should start lifting some weights, lol. Probably just call my husband if I need help, lol. Thanks Mark! 👏👏🤗👍💖
Hi Christine, thank you so much as always! Hehe, yes I think you might need help with some of these screws, or an electric screwdriver! I struggle with some of them, too! I hope you are doing OK, sister, take care!
Hi mate. Great build so far. Just the pain of those decals on the front wing to go. I wonder if those yellow shocks are a bigger diameter as I have fitted my mini CVA ones the right way up with no issues on body fouling. Anyway Happy New Year to you, Lou, Elle and Alf and stay safe matey.
Hiya Rob, hope all is good! Haha, yeah, we will see about those pesky wing stickers! I think you are right about those old yellow shocks, they must be wider. Hope to fix it soon. Happy new year to you mate, lets hope we have a better 2022. Se you soon, dude! :O)
Hi Mark, happy New Year to you and the family. That DT02 chassis looks very similar to the Blitzer Beetle chassis. As for step 24, you needed to ‘jer jer jiggle it’ looking great so far, looking forward to seeing the Holiday buggy body on that great little chassis. Take care, keep well and all the best to you all. 😉😊😉
Hi John, happy New Year to you and your family too. Yep, the chassis are similar in design, I think the DT02 is an evolution. The body does indeed look very pretty on this chassis, coming soon, mate. Take care and ATB back at you my friend! :))
Hi Mark mate, well that's another well explained and concise build video. Totally invaluable to those just starting out. I had to smile when you pulled that trick with the pogo stick suspension, in putting a screwdriver through the top section to stop it twisting - I do exacly the same thing bro. But I hate the tedium of building shocks. Nice job in painting the lettering on the tyres as well, a beautiful touch, that adds that bit of extra gloss to the model - sadly it probably won't last long though. Enjoy the rest of your hols mate and have a happy and peaceful New Year...🙂👍🏻🙂.
Hi again and thanks very much, mate. Yeah, strange, I have already got 3 DT02's but never made a build guide as I did them before I started this channel! Put that right now I've got this beauty to build! Hehe, we share a lot of the same tricks, you and I - I suppose it's common sense, really. Glad you like the lettering, yes, it will stay on for the fist few minutes of the first run, but still good to look back at those vides in the future when the buggy was pristine. Same to you my friend, hope you are enjoying the holidays before we all get back to the grindstone. And of course, wishing you a prosperous New Year! 🙂👍
I wish they left the metal bar (bumper) on the 2010 chassis like the original one had. The front body post broke off on my first test run and they say the old one was too brittle.. Great build Mark👍
Sorry to hear that mate! At least it's only a little part, I'm surprised it broke as I've crashed mine really hard and it's still in one piece! Thanks for watching this one mate, take care! :O)
Great video Mark do love the dt02 i have the sandviper and neo falcon that's mad how the front shock are fitted upside-down sets my ocd off lol would they fit the right way up t
Thank you Coryn! Oh yes, those 2 buggies of yours are fantastic Tamiyas. Yes, I need to revisit the front shocks to see if I can fit them the "correct" way up! OCD - I know exactly how you feel! Cheers. :O)
Hi there! The parts bag you need is the oil shock Parts bag C for the DT03 (the shocks are the same size as the DT02 and the springs are the correct weight for the buggy) and the number is 19402709. I was doing a search for you and found this on ebay uk for an amazing price, but be quick as it's the last one! www.ebay.co.uk/itm/144407329771? Good luck! :)
Hi Steven, no the stock friction dampers on this model fit on the normal way around! It's just that these CVA dampers are larger and the body is a tight fit with them in the upright position. Upside down gives more clearance, that's all!! Cheers! 😁👍
Hi Mal - my friend Rob has fitted the black CVA's to his and they fit properly, it must be these old yellow shocks that are too big! Body is all done, coming soon, pal!
Hey Good day My friend , nice videos ! Take care & Wish you a Happy day. 😃

@@fencenaoghen3569 Hello, Alex, I thank you so much for the kind thoughts and the great advice - I will be taking those tablets! Best to you, always!
Thanks for this series. Very informative.
And thank you for the nice comment, much appreciated!

Did You Have A Good CHRISTMAS?.
Yes, thank you! Wishing you a happy and prosperous New Year!
Cheers. :O)
Hi! I have a question about the MF-01x Rally beetle. What CVAs fit that chassis? 55mm? Thanks!
Yep - 55mm eye-to-eye! :O)
@@MarkBryanRC Thanks I'll get the tamiya super mini cva's like for the tt-02
@@MauzyrockRC 😁👌👍
Hi mark do you have a part number for the hop up shocks just ordered a kit and want to change them thanks and very nice build 👍👍
Good luck! :)
Any idea why tamiya wants the front dampers upside down?
I got the dt03 cva's and have them all upright... no modding necessary...
Hi Steven, no the stock friction dampers on this model fit on the normal way around! It's just that these CVA dampers are larger and the body is a tight fit with them in the upright position. Upside down gives more clearance, that's all!! Cheers! 😁👍
That was a pain with the shocks, they did not say in the manual there have issues on the front. Now just the body to go.
Hi Mal - my friend Rob has fitted the black CVA's to his and they fit properly, it must be these old yellow shocks that are too big! Body is all done, coming soon, pal!
@@MarkBryanRC That's good to know, shows there are more different sizes in Tamiya shocks than we know. Looking forward to seeing finished.
@@BasBoyRC Yep, it surprised me too, Mal, I thought they were all the same! Happy New Year!
@@MarkBryanRC Have a good one :-)
