Jail time should b include after these beautiful baby kittens survive. It makes me cry to see them in this situation & hearing their cries for help. The ppl who've done this should have the same thing done to them! Cruelty to the fullest this is!😥😭
@@Eggnog88 When they talk to the landlord later in the video he states that - at least the steel wires - were setup to prevent cats. Also, those are big sticky traps - even big for a rat - he seems to have had an ulterior motive with those also

@ Sungjongmyangel I literally lost it when I saw he passed away. I couldn't stop crying. I love animals especially kittens and puppies so to see this it was too hard. Then to hear how some people do this in purpose. Their just so evil.

Thank you Sunny for adopting Hoochoo. Thanks to the people for finding a way to remove the glue traps and barbed wire. Thanks to the vet and techs for helping the injured kittens.
I don't think Sunny adopted Hoochoo. She was only temporarily taking care of him to help him recover and get better. I believe he was adopted into a loving family with another cat which is wonderful news!
@Mysty Draco You should not make any traps that are potentrially dangerous for pets and it's cruel even for rats. Rats are not guilty that people consider them pests. People are pests themselves, since they only ruin ecology. Rats eat food that you throw away, that otherwise would rot and stink and become a nest for bactaria. What good did you do for the planet to think you are not a pest? You are pest, you should remember it before you call any other animal a pest. If you want to get rid of rats, you have to do it in a way that is safe for everybody and not cruel to rats. The one who put such traps is a murderer and hope in future such people will get seriously punished for such things.

But i agree we should get rid of them in the most painless way possible, it's not like they actually want us dead. Glue traps should be illegal.

i watched one of these videos, of a cat that suffered brain damage from a human attack, he stuffed the cat into a heating closet left the poor thing there. the sounds i heard coming from the cat i had to skip it. it was heart breaking that innocent animals suffer because of stupid ignorant waste of skin human beings.
I heard something like that with a foster dad who took in five kittens who had severe upper respiratory infections. They were practically comatose and one nearly lost one of his eyes, another nearly lost both. I never forgot the story of how he managed to bring them back from that and save all their eyes.
Sticky traps AND barbed wire that were meant to stop cats from crying in his alley? But the constant pitiful crying of the trapped babies until they weakened near death, was ok with him!!! He claimed didn't want to have cats using his alley as a litter box, but dead animals in his alley was clearly ok! He's cruel .... how would he clear out cats who died there in the traps he set with all that barbed wire, if the smell of them living there bothered him so much? The surviving kitten that had to lose her littermate (when they endured such a horror together that whole time) is beautiful (no thanks to him) The veterinary team is absolutely incredible and so is the humane group! 💗🙏🌺 I hope he goes on to have a wonderful life! 💗

When the kitten's brother died, it hit my heart and I was crying like a baby. The poor little guy...how can you do such a cruel thing to any other creature? madcatlady just make sure not to get it near their nose (or maybe mouth, if they’re unconscious), as if oil gets in their lungs it can be fatal. But YES, oil will help animals get unstuck (truthfully these traps should be illegal; even for a rat it’s an unbelievably cruel death).

That was one of the most painful things I've ever watched. Hearing them cry so weakly and being so helpless was heartwrenching. Glad at least one survived and is thriving.

So we did our thing. 2 years later they call us to bring in cats because they are having HORRIBLE rat problems to the point that it's "upsetting " the public. We released some ferals back in the area (all alteted of course) and balance has been restored. No overabundance of cats or rats=EVERYONE a happy camper. :-) So there IS an alternative. Glue traps (inhumane to any animal imho) & razor wire are not going to deter the animals.

It bugs the hell out of me that they keep calling it an accident, this was no accident. The owner of the house set those traps with the specific intent of killing cats, and he succeded, since he killed one of the kittens and who knows how many others before he was caught. He also didn't answer when the rescuers knocked, he delayed them even more when he didn't come to the door immedatly when the police arrived, he wanted both of the kittens to die and had to be pressured into open the door for the police. He showed absolutely no remorse or intention to stop when the rescuers and vets came to reason with him, the fact that the kittens falled into the trap he set was no accident, it was premeditated murder, plain and simple.

So first step, you find all the possible ways a rat can take to get inside and you block them with the help of experienced services of pest control. If the work is not properly done, you buy cage rat traps, place them in the area that you think rats frequently go and set the trap. If you leave no other food on display and have everything that smells in packages or in the fridge, the rat will go directly to the trap since it is just searching for food. When it gets inside, the cage closes, the rat eats the small piece of whatever you have placed in and the next day you take the cage and release the rat preferably in some landfill. I suggest consulting a pest control service in every case, since they have lots of experience. Now it would be great if the pest control services had service options like that : they place the cage and then be responsible to transport the animals to the landfill. That would be very helpful, and what I consider a completed task. Now, considering methods that may be under research and may be effective in the future, here are some that just passed through my mind: development of rat contraceptives to limit reproduction of rats, anesthetical drugs that only affect the metabolism of the rat and kill them in high doses (euthanasia), chemicals that emit a certain smell that rats despise and force them to stay away. I am sure there can be more and I even think that the above methods are not only relatively easy to discover (if the research team is a strong one) but also vital for public health.

I seen videos of animals who were abused. But this one made me cry. Barbed wire and mouse stick traps. That's the most coldest and cruel treatment of kittens. My heart just broke to hear those little cries. The other one didn't survive? Bless your hearts for saving one
Actually I doubt it. The owner of the property could say he/she put the traps out for rats. They always seem to find an excuse that HLE has to swallow. Very sad. A lot of really bad people get away with bad things but it's not necessarily in HLE power to do anything. I worked at a cat sheltet (no kill) and saw it all the time. We need stricter laws to protect these animals!

That landlord is a complete jerk. "I didn't set a trap to harm them." Then what did he set the trap for? There is no purpose for glue traps other than to completely immobilize an animal and subject it to a drawn out, painful death. Stop calling it an "accident." It was intentional. He wanted to kill cats. No doubt about that. He had time and money enough to buy barb wire and glue traps, but refused to build a narrow wooden fence, which would have been easier and cheaper.
Agreed! All that kitten that lived (I believe narrowly.. another minute, mabye two and it would've been too late for that precious little guy. 😭😭😭). Anyways, when he woke up, all he cared about was seeing his brother and knowing if he made it too! They are so selfless and so are dogs.. when I realized that the one who passed was still alive until the monitors went to zero, I realized how horrible and fearful and painful that precious little guy at such a young age had to have been... 😭😭😭😭😠😠😠😠. They went everywhere together clearly, had only each other clearly and then, he had to die horrifically due to a sadistic asshole of a landlord... the one who lived, clearly knew his brother had passed when he just decided to lay down.. Cats are constantly fighting and screaming in front of my window almost every night and couldn't ever thought of setting a trap. I wake up, shush them away and go back to sleep. They just do their thing, why kill them for it??
The most I would ever do to shoo away fighting cats are making sharp noise or throw something light but noisy to their direction like empty softdrink can or water bottle. Even then I only did it to fighting cats since they could harm themselves or broke my neighbors property (not everyone of them is kind to cats). Never cross my mind to put up a trap or doing something that could fatally harm them 😔
The only time i even remotely think of hurting a cat is when another cat bites mine. But in the end i would just give it a bit of a bad kitty! feed it and go away. lol

Ikr, he was only a month old, a stray cat, he and his brother were tangled in painfull wires and got stuck in a glue trap for a few days i suppose, gets rescued and put in a weird place, they're doing lots of weird stuff to him wich he doesn't even know what it is for, and then dies... what vision could he have had on life? That it's only meant for pain and suffering? What could the kitten have been thinking that time... It just breaks my hart...
It makes me hurt when I see people prefer dogs over cats and just abuse them. I have such a great connection with cats and not dogs. I'm happy that more cat rescuers are helping strays and other cats, its so happy to see more people are starting to love cats just as much!

I wish everyone was like the people in my country though. In Turkey, we behave like a neighbor to stray animals. We build huts to make them comfortable in winter and we feed them.

I don't think Sunny adopted Hoochoo. She was only temporarily taking care of him to help him recover and get better. I believe he was adopted into a loving family with another cat which is wonderful news!

@Mysty Draco You should not make any traps that are potentrially dangerous for pets and it's cruel even for rats. Rats are not guilty that people consider them pests. People are pests themselves, since they only ruin ecology. Rats eat food that you throw away, that otherwise would rot and stink and become a nest for bactaria. What good did you do for the planet to think you are not a pest? You are pest, you should remember it before you call any other animal a pest. If you want to get rid of rats, you have to do it in a way that is safe for everybody and not cruel to rats. The one who put such traps is a murderer and hope in future such people will get seriously punished for such things.

I heard something like that with a foster dad who took in five kittens who had severe upper respiratory infections. They were practically comatose and one nearly lost one of his eyes, another nearly lost both. I never forgot the story of how he managed to bring them back from that and save all their eyes.
Sticky traps AND barbed wire that were meant to stop cats from crying in his alley? But the constant pitiful crying of the trapped babies until they weakened near death, was ok with him!!! He claimed didn't want to have cats using his alley as a litter box, but dead animals in his alley was clearly ok! He's cruel .... how would he clear out cats who died there in the traps he set with all that barbed wire, if the smell of them living there bothered him so much? The surviving kitten that had to lose her littermate (when they endured such a horror together that whole time) is beautiful (no thanks to him) The veterinary team is absolutely incredible and so is the humane group! 💗🙏🌺 I hope he goes on to have a wonderful life! 💗

for anyone who's cat gets glue on them, vegetable oil is good to help remove it, my kitty got flypaper stuck to him and I cleaned him off with olive oil

vertical I actually rubbed it on him with a flannel it has a bit of a laxative effect which helps with the resulting furballs too
madcatlady just make sure not to get it near their nose (or maybe mouth, if they’re unconscious), as if oil gets in their lungs it can be fatal. But YES, oil will help animals get unstuck (truthfully these traps should be illegal; even for a rat it’s an unbelievably cruel death).

If she gets rid of all the cats she will be bitchin because of rats! Don't laugh because my shelter did TNR on a warf. The town wanted them out. So we did our thing. 2 years later they call us to bring in cats because they are having HORRIBLE rat problems to the point that it's "upsetting " the public. We released some ferals back in the area (all alteted of course) and balance has been restored. No overabundance of cats or rats=EVERYONE a happy camper. :-)

It bugs the hell out of me that they keep calling it an accident, this was no accident. The owner of the house set those traps with the specific intent of killing cats, and he succeded, since he killed one of the kittens and who knows how many others before he was caught. He also didn't answer when the rescuers knocked, he delayed them even more when he didn't come to the door immedatly when the police arrived, he wanted both of the kittens to die and had to be pressured into open the door for the police.
He showed absolutely no remorse or intention to stop when the rescuers and vets came to reason with him, the fact that the kittens falled into the trap he set was no accident, it was premeditated murder, plain and simple.

If you leave no other food on display and have everything that smells in packages or in the fridge, the rat will go directly to the trap since it is just searching for food. When it gets inside, the cage closes, the rat eats the small piece of whatever you have placed in and the next day you take the cage and release the rat preferably in some landfill. I suggest consulting a pest control service in every case, since they have lots of experience. Now it would be great if the pest control services had service options like that : they place the cage and then be responsible to transport the animals to the landfill. That would be very helpful, and what I consider a completed task.
Now, considering methods that may be under research and may be effective in the future, here are some that just passed through my mind: development of rat contraceptives to limit reproduction of rats, anesthetical drugs that only affect the metabolism of the rat and kill them in high doses (euthanasia), chemicals that emit a certain smell that rats despise and force them to stay away. I am sure there can be more and I even think that the above methods are not only relatively easy to discover (if the research team is a strong one) but also vital for public health.

I Have cats that are not mine in my backyard but I would NOT do this, ever. Instead, I use water to get the ground slippery and humid (they don't like it). It's better than hurting some pet

That landlord is a complete jerk. "I didn't set a trap to harm them." Then what did he set the trap for? There is no purpose for glue traps other than to completely immobilize an animal and subject it to a drawn out, painful death. Stop calling it an "accident." It was intentional. He wanted to kill cats. No doubt about that. He had time and money enough to buy barb wire and glue traps, but refused to build a narrow wooden fence, which would have been easier and cheaper.

Cats are constantly fighting and screaming in front of my window almost every night and couldn't ever thought of setting a trap. I wake up, shush them away and go back to sleep. They just do their thing, why kill them for it??
The most I would ever do to shoo away fighting cats are making sharp noise or throw something light but noisy to their direction like empty softdrink can or water bottle. Even then I only did it to fighting cats since they could harm themselves or broke my neighbors property (not everyone of them is kind to cats). Never cross my mind to put up a trap or doing something that could fatally harm them 😔

Ikr, he was only a month old, a stray cat, he and his brother were tangled in painfull wires and got stuck in a glue trap for a few days i suppose, gets rescued and put in a weird place, they're doing lots of weird stuff to him wich he doesn't even know what it is for, and then dies... what vision could he have had on life? That it's only meant for pain and suffering? What could the kitten have been thinking that time... It just breaks my hart...

I wish everyone was like the people in my country though. In Turkey, we behave like a neighbor to stray animals. We build huts to make them comfortable in winter and we feed them.

In Canada you would never see stray cats. There's shelters for them here and a lot of adoption centres. TBH animals here have more rights than humans.
