In this video, we demonstrate a great and very quick method for sharpening your knives like a razor. If you have knives that need to be sharpened, use the method in this video to sharpen them like a razor.

Please do NOT do this, so many things wrong with this. When the discs come apart they will become flying shrapnel, using hot glue would not give you a flat surface due to how it dries. This is just a bad idea that is not safe and could very quickly hurt someone.
You're right, and you can still see large nicks on the blade AFTER the supposed sharpening.
The Tool he puts the "disc" on appears to not turn as fast as the typical small angle grinders turn. It appears to be slower, but I cannot tell for sure and the producer of the Video does "not say". The REAL Discs that are MADE for these grinders and sanders are dangerous enough. I THINK if this disc was put on a FAST Turning Grinder it would disintegrate immediately. There are so many of these Third World "Hacks" about sharpening and welding various items that are DANGEROUS and not proper Welding Procedure or Knife Sharpening Procedure. The KNIFE EDGE shown after "Sharpening" still has nicks in it you can see. What this "technique" has done is produce a Knife Edge that I call a "Micro-Serrated" edge". It will cut a Tomato very quickly at FIRST because it is SERRATED, but the edge will not last. It has what you might say are "Micro Serrated Teeth". These micro serrated teeth will quickly bend and will have to be sharpened again after very little use until it quickly uses up the knife blade if used often. Having a sharp, finely polished Knife edge will stay sharp longer extending the life of the knife. One should NEVER never put a GOOD EXPENSIVE knife on a fast grinder or Sanding device. I have a Tormek Sharpening system, but I hardly ever use it. I still use quality stones to sharpen my knives. On a junk knife in the Third World they can get by with this I guess, I would NOT put a good knife through this torture.
Small belt sander to get the nicks, followed by finishing it with a 4-sided Diamond Hone Block from Harbor Freight.
Far easier to use a knife sharpener.....and safer too!
Look closely not the same knife. One he takes out of disc has nicks in the blade. One cutting tomato is clean cutting surface.

The appearance of nicks you mentioned when I took it out of the disc could be due to lighting or angles, which can sometimes create the illusion of imperfections.

I have a belt and disc sander that has sanding discs that fit right on there to do the same job because I also know how to sharpen knives without using such provisions 🤣

@@wowdr11 course, medium, and fine triple oil stone. Been sharpening all sorts of things besides just knives for many years and have acquired a skillful eye to keep the right angles on the blades for superior sharpeness 👍
You can buy round sandpaper. I use a scissor to cut paper.
AND, the abrasive is turning into the blade, not away from it. Do not try this at home.

Guess I’ll toss my Tormek. Glue first then cut for better results on less ridiculous hacks.

I'm sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy the video, but I appreciate you taking the time to watch it.
Bullsh. And dangerous. And not quick. And not necessary. You want a sharp knife? Then simply remember this: the width of the bevel should be 2.5 times longer than the thickness of the blade. Got it? So if the blade is 1mm thick the bevel at each side should be 2.5mm wide. And so on.
If you use imperial and the blade is 1/16" wide then the bevels should be 5/32".
Why? Because that give you an angle at the edge of around 20 degrees which will be sharp enough for virtually everyone.
Actually 2.88 times the width will give 20 degrees so it'll be a bit blunter than that.
You could go to depth of 3 x the width and you'd get sharper. On soft steel or stainless that'd be a kinda fragile edge.
Point is its fairly easy to rub a knife on virtually anything abrasive and watch the width of the bevel to see how you are doing. You soon learn what angle you have to hold it at and can do it. Now just don't 'roll' the knife around and you'll be okay.
Fairly obvious, too, that if you use a 'lumpy' abrasive like coarse glasspaper you'll take nicks out of the edge but you'll get down to the edge fairly quick if you have to remove much metal.
And it's equally obvious that if you finish with something fine - high grit number glasspaper, fine emery stone, whatever, then you'll get a 'cleaner' edge.
Equally obvious that if your nicked it to hell and gone before you go fine those nicks will still be there.
So? So don't start any more coarse than you need and progress through a series of progressively finer.
It's worth noting that nicks or not you'll still have a sharp knife if you have that degree of edge. Just in those tiny places where the nicks are the edge will not be so sharp because the nick has cut the edge back to a thicker part of the blade hasn't it?
For you in your kitchen cutting meat and tomato or whatever this makes bugger all difference.
It is totally amazing what a major problem people make out of sharpening edges.

All such sharpeners are utterly bad, almost as bad as this video. Just a normal sharpening stone is much better. And there are pretty good sharpening jigs, but they are all more expensive than that.
