Well it is a translation, its Kazukis original translation from when he drew the manga. He probably didnt have any English speakers to proof read it so thats why its so odd.
Its a direct translation from the Manga. Silfer was the english name and was a 4kids TV producer

Not even translation, that's how they looked in Japanese, and it's supposed to be a rough translation from ancient egyptian.

These Egyptian God cards are sick! I love how the Ra card text is ancient, paying homage to the kind we see in the manga/anime.
Wow those cards look insane! I just got back into collecting Yu-Gi-Oh after 20 something years. I got a King's Court Slifer Secret Rare and I'm obsessed with the card, Slifer was always my favorite. Loved seeing it in the direct translation. Nice Vid!

To think that these stainless steel cards are the original manga artworks are mindblowing to me, the names are a bit funny seeing how used we are of the names that where localized in the west 😅

I like the fact that Ra is in the ancient text and I like the manga style. I wonder if it might have looked better in black and white? They look pretty good, I'm just a big fan of the original artwork. I always find the stainless steel products funny to think about because I imagined when the cards were used as throwing stars. Anime cards are either easily rippable card stock... or titanium depending on what's happening with them.
We should get Wicked gods as they appear in the Yu-gi-oh R manga too. something like that would be cool. Might be risky because then they would have "devil" in their name. Like for example, the card Mabarrel's actual translated Japanese name was Devil's Cannon, yet, that name wasn't used. It was a Vol. 3 card in the OCG... Another example is that Fire Devil was changed to Fire Reaper in the TCG. That card had quite an import time from OCG to TCG, from 1999 Vol. 1 in the OCG all the way to a 2019 Speed duel pack, Scars of Defeat in the TCG.
These are the original artwork, text, and names of the first appearance of the God Cards in the Japanese Manga. If anyone remembers fake god cards from back when I was a kid used these artwork and names before we got them translated to english. I still have the fake God of Obelisk that looks exactly like this card but not shiny and made out of really bad quality card stock.

Why would they make this useless set, but they can't sign a deal to allow a company similar to UltraSabers or whoever make standardized sturdy aluminum or even stainless steel based Duel Disks that actually hold sleeved cards with LED lights and sounds and everything to sell around the world to fans?

Those are some epic designs for the Egyptian Gods, right there! Seeing their wings in clear view really adds to the monsters' scale. Gives them more impact, I feel.

I always liked how Slifer sounded but then I realized the true name was supposed to be Osiris and then it made so much more sense given that Osiris is an actual egyptian god

These Manga based cards look beautiful and I'm so sad to see that most new fans don't understand how amazing these are. This is how they appeared in the manga. in the original Japanese version, they are in english, so it is directly what Takahashi Sensei intended. I would cry if I saw these in person.

I acknowledge that these are the true original god cards but i have to say I prefer the anime arts. The only one here that looks good is Ra.
1.) obelisk looks like a goblin in the manga art the anime artwork is intimidating as hell. When i first saw the card in a magazine picture i did not need to understand Japanese to know that guy meant business. The grin and huge arms made him look like the juggernaut he is
2.) osiris (or slifer) in the anime artwork gives a sense of grand scale because you only have the dragons head in front of you and the rest of the body following behind. It gives the impression that this thing is huge and reminds me of when shenlong was summoned in dragonball. This manga art work reminds me of mushu from mulan, he looks like a lizard
i think its awesome that they made steal egyptian god cards and there exactly from the manga konami needs to do more like this

slifer is a name of an executive producer in the 4kids version of yugioh so they renamed the card in his honour

What an insane hit of nostalgia. I clicked this video because it seemed interesting and when I heard that intro my brain immediately recognized what I had heard and it has been YEARS. I started playing Yugioh when I was a little kid back in the early 2000s and stopped for a few years before I went back to it as an older teen around 2010/2011 where I found this channel when it was just a baby. I messed around for a little bit until I took yet another break for even longer and returned thanks to Master Duel making it so accessible which obviously meant I took quite a break from Yugioh content creators. If you had asked me who simplyunlucky was I probably would've blanked completely, but the millisecond I heard that intro it all came flooding back. I guess that goes to show how important intros are or at least proper branding lmao. Very cool that this got recommended to me when I'm not even on my original YT account that was subbed to this channel, what are the odds? I couldn't resist the nostalgia and went back to see the old videos from 11 years ago... man does time fly.

I love the God cards! Even tho a lot of people say that they're "unplayable" now because of turn one wins, I prefer the slower games of Yu-Gi-Oh! much better

I looked them up because I'd never heard of them until I saw this video......Their initial retail was $399. Now, you'd be lucky to find them on the secondary market for less than double that! That's the least I saw them for......It just left me with this ".......Hmm......" feeling inside before I mentally declined getting them. Don't get me wrong! I like them, but that $399 was *just* scraping at the bottom of the barrel of what I'm willing to pay for them. $600+? ......Yeah, no........
