The cow pox thing is actually based on truth but the milkmaids recovered from it, they didn't just walk around with oozing sores the rest of their lives. haha Milkmaids were also thought to be pretty and clean, they had to be because they worked in the dairy and any contamination to the milk and cheese would ruin it, so they had to wash more and stay clean and therefor were thought attractive.
Well yeah and the experiment with having childern infected with cow pox, having them get ill and then exposing them to small pox to test the theory. Thankfully for the children the guy was spot on and they didnt get the small pox.
