- Part 3 of 4. It's day 3 of my California Coaster Trip and it's time to head to Knott's Berry Farm. I take the Metrolink and LA Transit to Buena Park to ride as many rollercoasters as I can.

Honestly as a SoCal native this looks like a weird day at Knott’s. I go there almost every other week and every time Ghostrider is open, and I didn’t hear of any scheduled maintenance. Also, the fraud thing just is so weird.
Yea I guess it was just an off day for me, but I still made the best out of it!

I had the same issue at the entrance gates. Security was extremely rude and snatched my phone out of my hands to confirm my electronic ticket. I was with friends, and I did not want to cause a scene. I love Knott's, but they do need to vastly improve their guest service skills.
I am a passholder to Knotts I enjoy the park a lot. I don't think you missed much on Ghostrider, it is just a wooden roller coaster. We call it the headache coaster because we always get a headache every time we ride it.

I enjoyed seeing how a visitor views Knott's. It's my home park. Sorry that you missed Ghost Rider. It usually is down for refurb in the winter when crowds are low. Can't tell exactly when you visited but it looks like maybe Feb? As for Coast Rider-the restraint system is a result of a lawsuit by the family of a rather stupid kid who tried to get off the ride before it was finished. Knott's had to add the restraints as part of the settlement. When you come back I suggest maybe April. That's when all the rides are usually up.
Good guess! I took this trip late February. Believe it or not, ghost Rider was closed on that specific day. The workers I spoke to were surprised it was down for the day. Also, thank you for the context on Coast Rider. I guess there’s nothing could be done about that. When I do return to California, it will be either spring or late summer. I’m glad you enjoyed watching my video. Really appreciate it.
Damn man X2 and Ghostrider being closed is horrible. I hate to hear that. Those are my 2 favorite coasters of all time and it’s dissapointing that you weren’t able to experience them. Sorry

Let me know when you are coming back in town and I'll get you a free ticket. First time I used my Prestige Pass the dude at the special gate wouldn't greet or say hi to us. Maybe didn't like the color of our skin. We just laughed and reminded our selfs how miserable you must be inside to act that way. Knott's had a huge problem with fraud when they switched apps at first. I find Knott's to be much more approachable and friendly towards the working family so they are my go to So Cal spot.
Appreciate the gesture. I would love to return and do a full California trip next summer.

Looks like you had a decent time. Personally, I am NOT going to wait any more than 1 hour to ride any coaster. It just doesn’t make sense to do that. Here is one secret for having a better chance on much shorter lines in these parks. Go on a really off day like a Thursday. NEVER go on a weekend or holiday. If you can get a pass that can put you where you can skip the long lines- GET IT!!! If you can, financially, spend another day or two. Good advice! Peace.
This trip was during the winter and Magic Mountain were only open during the weekends and Monday. Sometimes you can only go on the days you’re able to. Although I did wish I had an extra day at Magic Mountain, but again you do what you can. I had a wonderful time and I will be back to ride any missing credits.

That’s pretty easy to do when you visited Magic Mountain the day before. The operations there were…less than ideal.
