Scambaiting but you redirect them to a “better victim” (just another persona of yours) and then its a back and forth
Maybe not quite what you're looking for, but they did make a video similar to that idea where they experiment with "continuous delegation" ruclips.net/video/qjBDZAojFlo/видео.html
Wastes their time😅
@@captain_kadaverthat video is hilarious, Mr shrimp does like three or four different voices in that video if I remember correctly 🤣😂 it's probably one of my favourite scambaiting video of atomic shrimps 😊
@@captain_kadaver Oh my looks like i missed this, thank you
@@captain_kadaver also some videos of John Warosa legacy were with two victims
I often regret that these scammers are frequently not as invested in these conversations as you. They rarely ever appreciate lines like "Telephones aren't real."
At least we’re here to appreciate them
That’s the point of the joke to me. AS slips these ridiculous things into the conversation, and the scammer is either financially motivated to ignore that or entirely unmotivated to acknowledge it… because they’re a scammer.
But they aren't real
They have hundreds of people on the hook, it's why they only pursue ones that seem likely to pay off. Scambaiters have to tow the line between ridiculous and entertaining, while being a potential payday for the scammer.
Or when he said, "Firstly" and "thirdly" and no secondly.
"my knees went the wrong way like a flamingo". That line got me, this thread is great
Actually a flamingo's knees go the RIGHT way. Unfortunately the rest of the bird is backwards.
@@falcon2287 yeah, the "knee" is their ankle, because human feet were once used for climbing trees, and now we have these badly designed legs to walk with
"Athelstan Britannica" sounds like a character out of a Japanese roleplaying game set in a fictional European country.
😂 it was a tickle, wasn't it.? I had a laugh on that one, too.
It makes me think of Battlestar Galactica.
I don't think I'll ever stop chuckling at the phrase "Important friendly business"
🤣🤣🤣 Perfect!
What I hate the most if random people being total strangers to me are calling me friend or sister.... i would delete such messages straight away.
I have a theory regarding Mr D. Head's name...
As you pointed out, some of these email scammers struggle to come up with realistic names. Over the course of a few years watching telephone scambaiters on YT, I've noticed that a scammer might sometimes introduce themself with a fake name which sounds like a joke. In particular I'm thinking of a scammer who, during a phone call, gave his name as Mike Hawk. Now, this was originally a comical name which has often been used by scambaiters, and presumably the scammer (for whom English was a second language) had thought "Hmm, that sounds like a plausible Western name, I'll use that next time".
So maybe, long ago, some prankster replied to one of these scam emails, signing off as D*** Head - and the scammer stole the name?
They seem to use a lot of famous peoples' names too eg. movie stars.
Alternative theory: it's another way to filter out people who are likely to catch on to the fact that it's a scam. If someone's oblivious enough to overlook the fact that their 'contact' is called D. Head, then they're also likely to overlook the other plot holes in the scam and fall for it in the end.
@@vulpesinculta3238 This is my thoughts exactly.
At least Mike Hawk is plausible-sounding name. How about Heittor Marketghton?
Or they've acquired the password and stolen someone else's email account. That name sounds like what some teenager might call their account.
Every time Mr. D.Head was bought up. i almost couldn't breathe. This is one of the best scambaiting videos yet.
Funny as that 🤣🤣😂😂
Actually, Richard is his middle name. His first name is Harry...
GET IT?!?!
@@JamesWho1

He has a son.
His name is "Butt".
@Geno2733 heheeheheheheh you said Butt
You can’t just skip over “what can you tell me about the girth of this package” and expect no one to notice. 😳😂😂😂
Instead of "ok" I would suggest something more leading. I like being mysterious and going "Is it secret, is it safe?" which can be repeated about 2-5 times before the scammer catches on. Or the more direct route something like "I deposited and received the money" I did something like that last one once and it took 10 panicked emails from them before they caught on.
Mr. Shrimp did a video a while back where he told the scammers he’d already received the funds. “OK- Let’s tell the scammer I already have the money”
I wonder if Athelstan Britannica has a brother called Encyclopedia?
"counter-explained" is such a powerfully meaningful phrase
Paul S. was very insistent that things be done immediately. He should team up with the scammer who wanted everything done 'right now ok'. The two of them together would be an unstoppable force.
"happy new month" sounds like a psychopath trying to sound friendly
not that Atomic Shrimp is a lousy writer of comedy but like so much of the comedy writes itself with these scams
The use of Pomp and Circumstance where I was expecting God save the Queen was pretty great.
With it slowly going more and more out of tune made it even better.
Funnily enough, I was almost scammed the other day, before remembering the tips these videos give, like how you shouldn't share your details online with a stranger, or how scammers sometimes ask for gift cards as payment. I caught myself midway through communicating with them, blocked and reported them to those who they were impersonating. I think these scam baiting videos have been a lifesaver, so thank you, Atomic Shrimp :)
Fun fact: single letter surnames do exist. Ran into trouble when I had a last name entry-field require at least 2 characters.
I love Paul S acting like a clingy ex lmao
there were so many things in this video that had me in stitches, but I think the way the scammers “oh my god”(s) were read aloud was my favourite.
The “universal email database” is such a lovely invention. You should incorporate it more in your conversations 😂
I have an idea for these mass ones: find or make up some fake receipts for Steam Wallet or iTunes gift cards, and then send those images to everyone in the list. The codes will have already been used but of course the scammers don't know if that's the case or if someone else of the 25 other scammers already claimed the code
Oh Mike, I've had an awful week and this cheered me up so much! I literally choked laughing at your broken knees (like a flamingo). Fabulous piece today, feeling better now x 🤣🤣
I really hope your knees are alright man. Fortunately knee since is quite advanced today. They had to amputate my late grandpa's legs when he went full flamingo in 1990. Health insurance would only cover two broomsticks for prostheses. :(
_Paul S, Paul S,_
_Ne'er-do-well with no finesse._
_This fellow's fate is most ironic:_
_Caught and cleaned by shrimp atomic._
"ARE YOU A SMALL BOY?" will never cease to make me laugh 😂
the fact that some scammer once made this clear as if this would be something anyone would ever ask and then he just took it and pretended like its a thing people would ask
Oh my goodness, these never disappoint! So many funny lines like 'steamed apple cards' or 'thatsapp'. Paul S was for sure the most persistent. I'm a little surprised that not many of the others copied on the list responded. Oh well, another great video! Keep up the great work, Atomic!
I love this video. This is my favorite scam mail list one and it might be my favorite scambaiting video overall. I think it really worked best when you almost completely failed to acknowledge the fact that you were replying to dozens of scammers, because it might make the scammer click reply all on accident and it just adds to the general confusion. It really adds to the comedy. Also:
1. The bit where the UK flag and hymn kept devolving was so funny
2. "Telephones aren't real" just out of nowhere and completely ignored. So good.
No one does comedy quite like you, Shrimp
I think my girlfriend might stop me watching these videos as I just nearly stopped breathing due to laughter.
Don’t be shy, show her the video!!
You're in hospital with bird legs? Wow. I hope you get better soon. I am expecting to hear from you.
He's getting them shortened.
5:31 "Rose Prophetess" is the most JRPG-ass name I've heard in my life
Or the name of a starship.
I LUVED "Why do people say time is LONG...i prefer to think of it as WIDE"...a bit of cosmological humor there😉
my god that last guy, so pushy xD made me scream on the inside every time he sent "im expecting to hear from you immediately OK?"
Amazing, I'm not sure I've seen one before where you can see shrimp starting to get annoyed with the scambaiter, normally it's the other way around
Now "100% free risk" is something we don't see enough.
I swear, the Paul S storyline got me laughing so hard, my knees hurt
I love how most of them have written some big dramatic stories but others are just ‘give me an iTunes gift card’
Atomic Shrimp is the real Dos Equis most interesting man in the world
Athelstan Britannica..Oh my days...Goodness sakes! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I haven't had a laugh like that in weeks, thanks for snapping me out of a manic low Shrimp x
Have you ever tried setting up an email forwarder, so that when any of the scammers email you it auto-forwards to the whole group?
The point is Ol' Chap is we love the foodie Thinghys " but it's why most of us come to the The atomic shrimp Yourtubbie' is your Thrashing of the Scammers..with your exellent and quite humorous narration...Cheers Lad !
7:46 now to find a way to incorporate this into my day to day vocabulary
4:28 - Mr. D Head? Well, I certainly didn't expect to see a scammer actually being truthful.
God, that last scammer was the pushiest I've ever seen lmao, I hope the other scammers were thoroughly annoyed
I always get so invested in your scambaiting vids. thank you so much. this is top tier
I've watched this 3 times in 2 days. This is, by far, my favorite scambaiting video you've ever made!
I finally made it right at release! Thanks for what you do & for the years of entertainment! 🤠
😁😆 I really enjoyed this video - and also appreciate the time it took to time to make it. Love your humour!
Steamed apples...dear Lord who keeps going after that, thanks for the content.
The Union Jack and ‘Land of Hope and Glory’ degrading along with Athelstan scam dialogue had me dead 😂
I completely lost it at bird legs. Phenomenal work.
Our dear lady Queen Elizabeth the 11th... Remember when Queen Elizabeth the 10th died? Man, I cried so hard... I never got to recover from Queen Elizabeth the Second and, a few months later, Queen Elizabeth the Eleventh dies! What a cruel world...
So many Elizabeths, so little time.
If a spent gift card pin is sent to the whole group every individual person assumes someone else got to it first
Me: (for the past couple months) "It's been a while since Mike uploaded a scambaiting video". Mike (today): It's been a little while since I uploaded a scambaiting video". Me: "YAY!" Note: I enjoy the variety of all your the content but I do particularly look forward to scambaiting.
AtomicShrimp never disappoints with the scambaiting! Please never ever stop 💯💯💯
I love your channel for numerous reasons. The randomness of content keeps me on my toes every upload and the pleasing tone in which you present all of your videos is a winner also, However I did find this channel many years ago via scam baiting and can I say what an absolute pleasure it is to have another scam baiting upload that's almost 40 minutes long! I have my tea and set myself comfy in bed here in Australia for a wonderful night of watching this. Thank you kindly for all of your uploads they genuinely make my days (and nights) 🍵🤝
When I was at university, *most* of my friends had a first name as their surname.
My college had about 300 people at it, and one of my friends was always having trouble because there were 3 people at the college with his exact two-first-names name, and they kept getting each other's mail.
😆
Having to do all this with bird legs in the hosiptal is quite a task. However, did you ask about Davis Bon while you were there? Is he still dead?
And what about his girth - it was quite memorable, so I hope they will remember it too.
@Koowluh Well, he's hard to forget when the girth is very memorable.
Davis Bon is dead for the full duration of his death ☠️🤣😭😂
@@Rob17Cotton Thank you for the concise update. I'll keep an eye to see if it changes.
Oh my goodness, I laughed out loud so many times, family came in to see what I was laughing at, so I got to share the fun, so entertaining, thank you!
Loved the distorted music for Honourable Athelstan Britannica. Very classy.
I get a kick out of you and other scambaiters reading the scammers ' grammatically incorrect texts. It sounds so funny when juxtaposed with your own grammatically correct responses back to them. 😂
It's so perfect you got someone so willing to spam out tons of messages for the whole group. They had to be the one to Reply All
Wonder how you resist the urge to reply "woah...slow down, Maurice" when they send you the whole scam in one email
You are the Best! Thanks for the laughs! Is I get scammed - ever, I will remember - hopefully - what I have learned from your channel.... And maybe ask some help. But - this is so... you know - funny - as long as they do not succeed.
Oh my God. Stil can't believe Queen Elizabeth the eleventh had a secret stash of money hidden somewhere...
I always am amazed that people can read through word salad like "Richard Laughton's" e-mail accurately. Whenever I try my brain either starts autocorrecting it into something more grammatically correct, or just jams up entirely.
Goodness, that one scammer definitely deserves a reward for being the most frantic scammer in the universe. He really wanted your money. 🤣
The most commonly scammed age group, according to the Rockland Trust, is 18-24 year olds. It is a complete fallacy that the older generation are the most vulnerable to scams. It is those who have just stepped foot into the grown-up world and do not have experience of how things are supposed to work who are the most vulnerable.
I posted this as a reply to a comment, but thought I'd also post it as it's own comment, so that people who feel 'safe' that they won't get scammed because they aren't 'old and gullible' take a bit more care.
Interesting. Does the study take proportion into account? Obviously the larger demographic on the internet. And did they subcategorize into types of scams? I don’t believe young people would fall for email scams as much as instagram ones… Anyways it’s definitely important to be aware regardless of age! These email scams might seem silly, but some others are very sophisticated
Different groups do tend to fall for different scams. The key takeaway is that no group is invulnerable and no group is untargeted. Older people typically have more money so tend to get scammed for larger amounts (so you hear stories about how bad it was). Younger people are often scammed in ways that relate to their specific needs and activities - money, employment, romance and even technology (Nintendo Switch forums are awash with youngsters confused that the 2tb SD card they bought for peanuts, doesn't seem to work properly)
Also (and without wanting to mischaraterise *all* younger people) there is probably a greater tendency for impulsive and risk-inviting behaviour in many younger people - so for every older person with crumbling mental faculties, there's a young person who hasn't yet learned about 'look before you leap' and 'too good to be true'.
I believe that the fact, that scams are now just an all-in-one-email is just a natural response to scambaiters. The scammers essentially accept that they only get the most vulnerable people, who would fall for basically *any* scam, while ignoring any and all potential scambaiters.
This is actually a good development, as it means that any previously susceptible victim, who may have fallen for a scam if "talked into it" by the scammer, now only has to show any sign of non-compliance, such as asking "What is this about?" and the scammer will drop them. So all in all, I believe this is a positive thing - even though it means it'll be harder to scambait such scammers.
I don't think there are enough scambaiters for it to be a response to us. I think it's more likely a desperate grab at a shrinking pool of victims, from a growing number of scammers, at the same tkme as the general awareness of this type of scam has become more widespread.
I've already figured out a workaround to get their attention and it seems to have some promise...
@@AtomicShrimp I see. It's still a good sign that the pool of potential victims is shrinking.
@@MechMK1 hope so
I always love all the references to the UN and the IMF because it gives them away as being in a developing country with UN involvement.
Hilarious, I still can't believe that people fall for these ancient style scams (the Nigerian prince). Keep up the good work - Scam the Scummy Scammers! 🏴👍🏻
Nice that you included Ye Olde AI Englysh in your replies. It adds a certain amount of gravy.
You read nonsense so smoothly.
Mr Ds wifes name surely is foreskin
couldnt resist making this bad joke
"Regards" basically being a passive-aggressive GFY is so British and so fitting in this context.
I wonder if it would make the scammers reply-all more often if you first introduce another persona (like you did with Continual Delegation) before adding them to the list.
Something about the full context around the "There is no keep off, only keep on" just sent me into a laughing fit for almost a full 15 seconds. It was something about the accent, Aethelstan Britannica, and the passing resemblance to "Keep Calm and Carry On" that just hit a humour nexus. Well done, Mr. Shrimp.
I hate that scammers use real people's names and articles to convince victims. That's such an easy way to catch somebody even a bit more savvy out - they could also falsify identification documents for these people.
OK, the knees is what me made spit my coffee laughing. Thanks for that Sir.
"can you see yourself?" funniest expression ive heard all day
Funnily enough, I did actually have a neighbour in near village that I went to secondary school with; his name was actually Richard Head!

GOT to repurpose the three emails in a row tactic. incredible how desperate they were, like a dog with separation anxiety
I had an email telling me, that today will be a day of great fortune. Seems about right so far! ;)

Colliding scammers is traffic management I support.
5:18 hard to get good, friendly victim servicing from scammers these days. Everything is just so automated.
We shall have to adapt. If the only way to engage them is to say 'here's the fee', then I'll try that (without actually sending the fee, for hijinks)
@AtomicShrimp I wonder if false addresses and disposable phone number would be enough to get their attention.
The hunger is palpable, these people are very, very keen to get them monies. The general lack of understanding of culture and naming conventions is deliciously entertaining.
Have greatly enjoyed your scambaiting all the way back to 419eater.
wow just ten minutes ago, this feels like an achievment
In Germany, there are quite a few lastnames that are also used as first names, like Werner, Henning or even Peter. I have no idea why we do it like that, but names are weird sometimes anywhere I guess.
On another note: The perfectly valid first name Rosa and the perfectly valid lastname Schlüpfer put together would translate to 'pink knickers', but silly combinations like that are usually prohibited by the people that fill out the birth certificates.
Same applies in Finnish-language names as well and such aversion to silly names also applies as much as I know. There are quite many English-language first names that also are surnames.
Paul S: I’m expecting to hear from you immediately OK
Mange: Why?
Paul S: Nothing understand
‘’ Good old Paul S Paul S so good they named him twice ‘’

There are a lot of things to appreciate about these videos, one of them is the skill to read these twisty nonsense emails like in 1:27, quite impressive!
" Alive, but my knees hurt" that's the middle age mantra.
I think the fast paced life of a scammer could be further streamlined if they go away after 1 email.
