I’ll be applying for my schools rad tech program soon. I was wondering if it was doable working and attending school at the same time? I’ll be a medical office health information tech in a couple of months and I’m just worried that it will be too much

Do you have to go back to school to get certified for MRI / CT, or is local training enough to sit for your ARRT?Thank you for the info :)
There are MRI only programs, but I already had Radiography as my primary so I just had to do on-the-job training for both CT and MRI. You just have to document so many exams and do 16 structured education credits! www.arrt.org/pages/earn-arrt-credentials/initial-requirements/postprimary-requirement

I know you working MRI now , but I’m wondering if just taking X-rays u have to walk allot like xray technologist position ? I’m debating if I should go into this career .
X-ray has tonsssss of walking and lots of standing for hours on end with lead aprons on! It’s pretty hard on the body

Hi Julia, I’m reaching to get some advice in regards to becoming an MRI tech. Did you major in rad tech and received your MRI tech certification afterwards or was it part of your rad tech program? I was doing some research and there’s an MRI tech program which will give me an associates degree OR rad tech program (associates degree) and then do a 14 week program for MRI tech to receive the certificate. I thank you so much for your time and advice! I apologize for this word vomit! Haha
Hi! I went through a 21-month AAS Radiologic Technology program and did on-the-job training for CT and MRI!
If you’re interested in ever working in xray or CT, I would go for the rad tech program then the 14-week MR certificate training!

Pretty much just only CT/MRI since we have a full time xray tech!
Can you take your camera into the MRI scanner room? It looked like you did that the other day with the open magnet.
I was far from the actual fringe field, so yes. I’ve seen some of the service engineers even set their laptops on the MRI table. I would never bring any technology near a traditional closed bore magnet though

I know a lot of single parents that are general x-ray technologists. If you're curious about pay in your area, you can google "radiologic technologist salary in *your state*." Keep in mind pay at a hospital vs. clinic will also differ
Modalities pay more (CT, MRI, Interventional Radiography, Ultrasound, etc).

I love it! I worked on a GE Brightspeed prior to the United, and this has been so user friendly and easy to operate!
