Wink should never have had Headline Chasers turn into a series. Heck, he could've stayed on Tic Tac Dough and replaced Bill Cullen for the 1985-1986 season of The Joker's Wild! He could've done both B&E shows in one season!

I imagine at the end Wink said that "As I said earlier, we are taking a break for while. We will back soon to continue the game between Giselle and Archie. During the upcoming weeks, you'll be seeing some of the choice shows of Tic Tac Dough from this past year..." He probably gave an extended thank you for seven years of the show, then came the part GSN did air.

The housebuilder contestant after loss looks like she went to work on the new set, heckuva consolation prize😊. No sendoff from Wink and was about the time he filled in for Casey on #Americantop40. Was he yanked for stiffin theme royalties? Wink was a recording artist, maybe taking it for the team? Show dropped CBS TV City logo end credits a few years earlier. Just watchin the 1st ep w Jim Caldwell-1st ? was Disney related, liner notes on Disney music back then absent😮 My bro just turned 9 on airdate and wierd plat filing shenanigans also seen in parents house year prior #Winkoui #KMSP #CassCountyRecords #Glimmertwins 1985 as far as our fam where my folks had some #Funandgames participation and me bro and sis we moved 3times within 1 year 3 mo later😮

Actually, both TTD and TJW were struggling in the ratings by then, so I don't think the change in hosts made a difference...it also didn't help that besides returning favorites WoF/J!/LMaD, there was a glut of new syndicated game shows for the 85-86 season (The $100K Pyramid, Headline Chasers, Break the Bank, Catch Phrase, The New Newlywed Game and The Nighttime Price is Right).

@@ChuckD79 The main reason TTD and TJW went down in the ratings is because Wheel and Jeopardy stole their ratings from them. IF Wheel and Jeopardy never came on, TTD and TJW would've lasted longer to the end of the 80's or early 90's. I'm waiting for Wheel and Jeopardy to come to an end.
