This is one of the most powerful, beautiful, moving art forms that humans have come up with. What a stunningly incredible expression of culture. As someone who comes from a culture very different than this I am completely in awe and am appreciative to be able to watch this from across the globe. Thank you so much for sharing this part of your world with us!

@@TeMaureaWhiritoi I love and appreciate you all so very much. Though I don't understand every element YET your culture very much speaks to my heart. I am most definitely an outsider but I appreciate it so very much!
I had rolling body chills throughout this magnificent display! I came here because of the Moana song and I felt their emotions and the depth of their feelings for all of the songs. The history of the wars, the mourning song and the battle against drugs were so very moving. My favorite honestly was the mourning song it touched me deeply! Thank you for sharing your culture with us!
Searching for Jaedyn Randell brought me here. What I didn't expect was the group performance collectively was super emotional and vested. I don't understand a word but I felt it.. wow!

Oh my...thank you for the feelings. Every little atom in my body is moved by your voices, your perfomance and expressions. I hope to see such a "show" once in my life LIVE THANK YOU. ❤️
I just m filled with SO much joy watching the indigenous cultures we (white people) stole from them. This really cures my depression most days. I cannot begin to imagine how they themselves feel, if it makes me feel like this.
i love how the lean into their cultural roots and not letting the west editing what they want from them. just wish it was English/dub/sub so I could enjoy this with everyone else.
Sorry for the late reply! But check out our other shorter vids - they have the words and translations there for ya. Not the same as a dub/sub, but you might still find it interesting :)
Them going fulllllll rage when hey twitching and doing the haka going going all out haka then they do a happy song agine and smiling it’s so awsome but the haka when they go full rage and anger and mad and screaming the anger out it’s so cool but I like the last song and also the haka and when they started twitching it’s like they were possed now that give my goosebumps also the hakas an also. To get rid of British exploitation and occupation Māori people must maintain unity and solidarity, Māori people should teach their children to uphold Māori values. Don't forget like Haka "Courage comes from anger."
Solid, damn why did it take me 4 years to see this? Love watching kapa's and hopefully with this years covid status we will have a mean as matatini 😁 im sure tho after that Moana song im sure the whanau fully snuck in a goku ultra instinct theme song type vibe in there 😁😁 mad props to them for that, yeeeeeeah 😁😊💯💯
Are the face paintings different depending on the female? I noticed the male lead also has paintings on his chest unlike the other males. Does the marking or coloring have a special meaning or is it just for easier identification of their leaders? Also, this is so beautiful. I was watching the females dance when they took off the green covers with the props (not sure what they are actually called, sorry) thinking that looks really hard but they made it look beautiful and so easy. I know I would fall on my face if I ever tried. So much talent.
This is utterly beautiful! I wish I could experience this. So so powerful it makes me cry. Can anyone explain why one lady has a different shade of green and red fabric underneath? Does this symbolise something?
I saw it explained in comments on Instagram (it was a short part of this performance) that she's the lead singer ❤ She's also Maori and the voice of Moana I believe in the animated movie ❤

The way I cried multiple times without even understanding a word they were saying. Simply beautiful.
Same here currently. Sitting here in my bed in Wiesbaden, Germany and I am crying so much. It's so stunningly beautiful, unbelievable.

Thats funny bc I don't feel like i need any translation. It's clear as day what they are saying if you pay attention.
They are singing a song written by a westerner, genius.
@@firstlast5270it’s a remake, written by Maaori, Einstein.
