Uh, do you even know who Ricky Nelson was? He was a teen pop star in the late 50's, mostly remembered for starring in the family sitcom "The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet". Had a bunch of hit records back then - Poor Little Fool, Stood Up, It's Late, Believe What You Say, Lonesome Town.

oh, you mean Rick Nelson? Yeah, Rick Nelson died in a terrible plane crash NYE, 1985.

No one thought to inform his family about his death before announcing it on TV and radio. Which is how Tracey, Matthew, Gunnar and Sam found out about their dad. Not good. After the plane crash in 1959 which killed Buddy Holly, The Big Bopper and Ritchie Valens, a law was made that the families of the deceased were to be informed first.
