Sorry about the length of the video; during the build I didn't realize the memory card ran out of space. Also happy holidays, and thanks for the viewership. Peace :D
HAPPY HOLIDAYS!! Gotta admit I'm a bit jealous of the x200s. I've got a x60 that I've been working with lately and even with the larger battery you can feel the power leaving the exhaust. You can't compete with Libreboot though, it's always a great feeling working on a totally free machine. Love the camera adapter btw xD!
Happy holidays as well, get a low voltage motherboard the battery life will be better. I still need to make one of those, I just can't find any batteries for them.Any good aftermarket batteries. I ordered new old stock ones and they arrived dead :c
@@tripcodeQ7 Oh wow, I never knew that the x60 had a low voltage motherboard! The battery I got was off ebay and is definitely subpar, which contributes to the problem lol. I'll take a look around and see if I can get ahold of that motherboard, and maybe a new battery because I gotta say it's a cute laptop to take around. Thanks btw for all the videos you've done in this space. Hope it feels good knowing you're helping people to get into something that (atleast I think) is a morally good sorta thing.
Hello, I just wanted to thank you for sharing this. My ThinkPad X220 was overheating, I applied your technique with my cheap thermal paste and BAAAM! my laptop is working like a charm.
Nice :D, although if you do replace the thermal pad get some on brand ones, but in reality as long as it doesn't rip when removing the heatsink you can reapply the old one :D
Cool! To celebrate 5000 subscribers, you decided to show us your second eye 4:30 😅 now one of the channel's main questions have been answered.. But seriously, thank you for staying with us , always nice to check out your new vids, or the eldest ones which are hilarious👌
Happy holidays Trip ! I just bought today a Pentium M 735 for my T43 that I'm gonna overclock, I'm watching this video with it right now lol EDIT: I overclocked the thing and it's awesome, I can even undervolt it.
RUclipsrs: $6000 rig + Adobe suite Tripcode: Core 2 Duo, editing in command line + ffmpeg :) What a hero! Btw, the camera is nice, I think one of the nicest mirrorless and you have lens options. Happy holidays, man! 1614 packages!? That's bloated, mate! :D :D :D
Thanks, I got a pretty good price on the camera, but at some point though I need to go and clean up the code for the ncurses interface. I found a way to control the background of urxvt from a C program. The ncurses interface is going to get a slight overhaul. Soon, I will have image preview, and then I can stop labeling every clip :D Then clean it up and release it on gitlab again. Also I should probably clean up my system software wise in a bit.
@Retro Consoles Online I'm not a huge fan of newer tech in general, I think sandy or ivy-bridge is a good inexpensive balance for most people. I am looking forward to coreboot coming to haswell though. I probably won't switch over do to my like of the old style keyboard :D
Happy hollidays to you too! I had an x200s as well. It definitely "feels" better and is better built than the x230 im using right now (I also like the lack of touchpad on the x200s) but the low power core duo was feeling just tooooo slow to use as my main machine.
Happy holidays Trip, and another cool video. I love the X200s -flashing the WSON8 isn't as hard as it seems - I failed an earlier flash attempt on a raspberry pi, but succeeded first time on a later attempt using a ch341a. It's nice that you can get a 1440x900 resolution on it - shame it's not possible on the X200. I think I tried it with Coreboot and it still didn't work? Anyway, have a happy new year!
About the same experience with me... but if you can deal with no suspend umm I experimented with some success on a x201 with coreboot ME cleaner. Some success not total... :c Happy holidays as well :D
That was a dell dimension, I think. This is a different board, I haven't had that since I moved :c If you want something sad I've wanted to and collected parts for a 486 board since highschool.
Hi just a question, I found that amazon have renewed x220 series, so I assume they are in a better quality, but the price is around 200, but what I am curious about is whether if the renewed x220 on amazon is capable of libreboot or coreboot?
Renewed? If it is just a refurbished model it should be fine, if it has really high temperatures though I would return it. The ebay ones are around $150, but replacing the thermal paste is 90% of the time required. If they are new old stock that would be worth it :D
Hello, How are you ? are you still using openbsd or have you switched to debian now? within your preferences of linux arch, openbsd, debian ubuntu gentoo distros and suse which one do you like but for your personal computer? OK take care and health.
I am thinking about using openbsd for a server, but I mainly just use debian. I have installer scripts and other tools for my debian install, so it works quite well for my desktop :D
@@tripcodeQ7 good morning, alright then and openbsd for server is pretty cool, now you do the hd participation using the custom option? what do you think of gentoo so that it takes a long time to install and takes a long time to install new packages. freebsd is very quick to install ok great day for you ,,,
Stable, works, and its nice for servers, as well as a okay desktop distribution. I've tried arch and gentoo as well. Don't worry I use debootstrap and have install scripts :D

4:31 Oh yeah, this handle is the best. When I use my ThinkPad on a bike it's indispensable.
It took me a little bit, lol, I was thinking about putting a docking station in my car at one point... Also I'm really sleepy.

How does that work anon? Would unironically like to see that video.

u9300 is a bit worse, lol. Umm it does chug a bit on some websites. A windows manager does help quite a bit though.
