Most of the reviewers who give a positive review, and who appear so enthusiastic about the product are professional reviewers that receive the item free or receive a payment, just to give a positive review. Best advice is to ignore those reviews.
Is this comment limited to this mattress or things in general? If so, reviews are doomed. If they like the product, you'd say that are paid to say that. And if they hate it, they must be genuine. In contrast. There are some things I've purchased that are brilliant. And others rubbish. The Sleeping Duck. Customer service was exceptional. The product was uncomfortable for me. My wife thought it was OK. Wenetex: The mattress I purchased ~15 yrs ago was the most comfortable sleep I've ever had. Loved it. Unfortunately, it slowly wore out. I tried to replace it. But their "new improved version" is harder. And I found it uncomfortable. Their customer service was brilliant. They visited my home multiple times to tweak & adjust the bed springs & other components. Threw in a free topper. We came close but still now what I was hoping for. Their quilt is great. So they gave a full refund on the bed & frame. I've kept the quilt. Other things that are brilliant: Techsmith's Snagit (for computer screen capture) Other things that are shit. Dolphin pool cleaners. My X40 died & wasn't replaced "because I left it in the pool too often". the x60 I replaced it with barely touches the wall.
I’m getting mine tomorrow! 🎉 Thank you for your awesome review! 💖 I live in my caravan all year round and needed something softer than the existing one. But can’t get room with any other comfy madras but found this one vacuum packed thick madras. 🎉
A good video, but getting personal is the memory foam too hot at any time of the year and what weight is the heaviest of you as some videos use 16St7lb is the optimum weight when you move from medium to firm mattress?
Gret video and really useful, thanks. It looks like you've put the Emma mattress on an existing sprung base. Has it been on OK on that? I have the same situation - a base which is 12 years old but fine, and a mattress that's the same age but which needs replacing.
I've bought the Emma recently after watching RUclips reviews on all different mattresses and I liked your review on it. I fall asleep straight away and having such good night sleeps it's so comfortable
Not sure if I like the idea of "dips" forming after only 10 months. Can you imagine after a couple of years! This one's not for me....thanks for posting your review 👍
I've just sent for an Emma mattress - as regards dips, I currently have a silent night memory foamed topped interior spring mattress which cost me £1100. Despite turning every few months it has serious dips after a year. This also happened to the mattress it replaced, a Sealy which cost £900. Basically, I'm done with paying for top end mattresses which do not live up to their past reputation; these Brands were good in the past, but it is evident that they have cut corners in production quality
I have a domeo memory foam mattress, hasn’t dipped at all in 4 years. Brilliant mattress and so comfy. They are cheaper than these apparent top of the range ones
I've been turning my memory foam/pocket spring mattress every two weeks religiously since I got it about fifteen years ago and it's only now that I'm having to replace it (hence my checking this review out!).I'd highly recommend doing this as it helps lessen the very 'dips' featured. On top of that, your mattress will last a heck of a lot longer resulting in greater value for money all round.
Hi Mr & Mrs T, thanks for the great review. It's so hard to find honest feedback sometimes. And it was quite funny too. Can I ask, how is the mattress going now, about a year along? Thanks and kind regards, Richard.
Hiiii !!! Loved watching your review!! I just wanted to ask as you’ve said that you’re of a heavier build . Do you sink in mr t !!! When you lie down and want to move after a few hours , do you find it difficult to move and that you’re sinking in .... do you also feel like you’re sloping or sliding off the bed ... as I’m feeling that and I’m gonna return my Emma
I tried this out earlier in John Lewis but I found it too firm. Not sure if it's one of those things where if I persevered I'd find it more comfortable. I much preferred the Hybrid, soft and cosy.
What it’s like in the summer for heat? I have a memory foam mattress and I hate it because it makes you sweat even though it says it’s a cooling mattress however I am tempted for this Emma but need to know what’s it’s like for keeping you cool?
Thank you very much for your feedback and the first video. I bought this after watching your videos. I do agree, it does not smell as strong as other memory foam products. May God bless you both. You are a lovely adorable couple.

Finally after 4 years and 2 Emma mattresses later, they have collected the 2nd one and the manufacturer is in the process of refunding the original cost. The collecting company told me they collect more Emma Mattresses than any other make, so that tells a story. I now have a Brook and Wilde hybrid for the past few weeks and that appears to be very sound indeed. Far more substantial and with a degree of proper springs.
Hi Rich, I've had one for exactly 4 years and never been happy with it tbh. My partner detests it! What did you say to them and how did you contact them? I have tried to contact them about 5 times online and never had a response!

have you tried swapping mattress around for better even ware i just got mine today cant wait .i have cervical dystonia neck and shoulder injury ill be finally getting some sleep after 17 years nice review guys i now have a simba mattress
I bought 2 years ago one for my daughter. She likes the mattrass but when I bought it, I didn't realise that you can't turn it to sleep at the other side. But it is important to turn head to feet regulary. I wash the cover every 3 months on 60 or maybe also a little bit more if she got a bloodstain in the mattrass, I know the advice is 40 but 60 is important to kill dustmites and the cover isn't shrinking. I like my own mattrass much more, but matrasses are a personal thing. I think Emma is indeed very good for 2 people sleeping in one bed because it is indeed not bouncy but still not too firm.
I have had to send my Emma Original Mattress back. Little did I know until owning it, I am what can be classed as a 'hot sleeper'. I wake up several times in the night to kick off the covers because I get completely overheated sleeping on this mattress. It's a real shame, because the mattress is very comfortable otherwise.
I had a memory foam mattress a few years ago and when we tuck the cover off to wash it. You could see the moisture in the mattress, parts of it was turning green. It wasn’t an Emma mattress, but it’s put me off buying a memory foam mattress ever since
I noticed a smell on my new mattress, which is called off-gasing and is on all memory foam mattresses but some people can't smell it. They do say to ventilate the new mattress. I was actually feeling ill from the Offgasing after 2 weeks so I had a week's break, after that my side effects have gone although the smell is still present, but I'm very sensitive to all chemical smells. I'm still sleep trialling my mattress but if I decide I'm keeping it I'll put bicarbonate of soda on the mattress to help eliminate the odour. Do you ever feel hot in your mattress especially when it was new?
I’m assuming this is the MEDIUM mattress? There is also a medium-firm option which is a fair bit more expensive. We’re used to a firm mattress but have been told that as you get older it’s better to avoid them, so maybe worth trying the medium.
Cheers, all the way from Brazil! :) Found your channel while looking for real user's impressions about the Emma mattress, and you two answered all the questions I had in my mind about it. One important doubt I had was actually about the smell, since I have a dog's nose (in function, not form, hehe) and ended up getting rid of our latex foam pillows exactly for that reason. So... thanks to you both, I am buying a king-size Emma - and I am buying it today, as they're having a promo with 40% discount. Yay! Thank you & all the best ❤️
@@Tintenter Just to let you guys know, I bought my Emma that very day, it arrived two days later, and... I am loving it! :) Thanks again, and congratulations for the amazing channel ❤️
@@m4speedway When I first opened the box, there was a strong smell from the thick outer plastic (PVC, I guess) sheet that protects the bag where the mattress is enclosed. Once I cut the bag open with the provided opener, I've detected a whiff of polyurethane - which reminds me of coffee, for some reason - but not much more than that. Then I removed all the packaging material (and their smells) from the room and left the mattress on top of a duvet cover, on the floor, to get back to shape. We were still sleeping in our old apartment, so I went back to it and the mattress stayed in the new apartment. When we finally moved, three days later, the bedroom where the mattress stayed had no smell of foam or plastic or anything of that sort. Since my first night sleeping on the Emma, I haven't detected any smell at all, even when I sleep on my belly and my face ends up pressed against the mattress. We do use a mattress protector under the bedsheet, but it's a breathable one, so I don't think it would block any smells, if there were any. So... yes, I would label it as "safe for sharp noses". :)
I’ve ordered a hybrid last night but looking at that dip 10 months in kind of regretting it should not have dipped that soon let’s home I’m wrong. Thanks for the review
How has your hybrid mattress lasted any dips? Is it comfortable? I'm on a sleep trial of a memory foam mattress which is v comfortable not hot (not an emma), but I'm now considering a hybrid mattress as I'd like a firmer support when pressing into mattress to sit up as I have a lot of painful medical conditions. What's the comfort support level of your mattress?? 🙂
@@m4speedway so far I’m pleased with it it’s firm compared to the simba which I found to be too soft. The Emma is worth giving a go each to there own you can return if not happy. Good luck
I want a mattress that I could get used to instantly and one that won't dip. I've had other low quality mattresses and even though it bounces, there's no dip
The raised bit is a known fault with the mattress and will not go, only get worse to the point it wakes you up if you lay on it. I had three mattresses that all had the fault and finally trying to get a refund which is taking a lot longer than their advertised 3-10 working days
Thanks for the quick response. I am on my 2nd hybrid. I weigh 12st 8 and my wife about 7. My side just sags and has become so soft. I feel I am rolling uphill to get to the other side of the bed. This 2nd mattress they replaced last July has only been in use for 3 months last year and 3 weeks this year as we are not always in the UK. It was great to begin with but now its lost much of its support very quickly. I am not sure these are built to last even if though they give a 10-year warranty. I see that the original is supposed to be firmer, so if they replace again I will be asking for the original. I am not sure that these foam mattresses are not much more than bit of a gimmick that makes high profits. They must take 5 minutes to produce a couple pieces of foam fitted into a zip cover. No quality compared to a more traditional type of mattress thats for sure. With no means of communication except email its not great customer support. At least with a shop you can talk face to face about an issue. Thanks again for your reply. Regards
@@m4speedway Sorry to say I do not rate this mattress very highly as it has exactly the same issue as the 1st mattress. Initially it is very comfortable but after just a few weeks in use there is sagging and a depression on whichever side of the bed I sleep. I weigh twelve and a half stone, so not very heavy yet the mattress becomes deformed quickly. I have turned the mattress around (not over) and within a few days sagging occurs. The result is, if I were to roll to to the opposite side of the mattress then its like rolling uphill and conversely if my wife were to roll onto my side then its like rolling downhill, as she describes it. This mattress does not support properly after a period of use. As far as memory foam is concerned then it has a short memory. I have actually gone to the trouble of placing equal weights on the mattress in the area of where the torso would be and using a level measured the depression from one side to another and clearly the depression is greater on my side by a considerable margin. The lack of support can easily be felt simply by depressing areas of the mattress with your hands and no matter whichever side I sleep on after a very short time the difference in resistance is easily felt. I actually feel as though my torso is lying in a depression which is akin to a hammock. I do not recommend this mattress unless you are very much lighter in weight. The depression in the mattress can also be easily seen when we get out of bed in the morning and the form of the mattress has not recovered by the end of the day.
@@matthewsle Well I did buy a type of Hybrid and it was the Brook + Wilde Elite. This is really worth a look. Very comfortable, comes in 3 different levels of firmness. 12 months trial and is a bed in a box type. Really exceptionally good compared to Emma. People who collected the Emma told me they collect more of these and the Simba mattress than any other make. From my experience I am not surprised.
If its dipping your Emma has had it. Just had a battle (much more expensive memory foam one) with a mattress maker and retail store and they agreed finally to replace but its taken me 4 months to get to that point on a mattress with a ten year warranty and it coming up 5 y o. Manufacturers have been so slow about it and initially refused to replace but retailer intervened and we got agreement to replace. However we went out and bought a full one layer latex matress (has certification) of our choice. Talk about chalk and cheese. Pain gone. No coughing. Sinus issues resolving.
I spin mine around not flip... I found after a few months I start getting shoulder aches and pains.. Spinning the mattress stops this... Apart from that it's excellent
We ordered our Emma mattress yesterday it is coming next week I can't wait as we have had our mattress for 10 years now so definitely need an upgrade :)
you maybe in for a disappointment as i read the review above, a long review that these mattresses do not last and are cheap made, i nearly purchased one glad i didn't
Same here I got rid of mine at only 2 yrs!! It got so bad and then to top it off I took the cover off to wash it, at low temp and then air dried, and it was a complete nightmare to get back on, the handles ripped off and the mattress became completely lumpy after this!! Horrendous!!! Complete scam Now bought a hypnos and have never slept so well
My honest review after two years of constant use is that they are Utterly rubbish mattresses. I'd rather recommend marshmallows in a sack. It gets ridiculously soft after 5-6 months.
hi.............. so which model is this mattress ?................is it really natural latex ?..............is it a double-sided mattress so that you can flip it over ?..............many thanks
I am in Brazil (Rio de Janeiro) and I need to change my matress to a new one. I am interesting in Emma and your video is really helpful. I think I´ll go on this one. Have a good day and thanks for the review :)
Felt way to hard for me, it’s like sleeping on a plank of wood, don’t sink in at all. And mine had a strong smell even after a week I can still smell it. Emma has sent out a soft layer so hopefully that will make it better
Mine was deemed faulty after 8 months. Waiting for a different brand to come and John Lewis will collect and refund. Massively broke down in the middle and cripples us!
Great videos and was very helpful. My Emma has arrived (kingsize) and I have a divan base like you. I have a slight overhang of the mattress lengthways and can see it looks as you have the same. Is that normal? I checked the dimensions of both when ordering and both should be 150×200.
I have just had mine delivered and mine overhangs. Not happy about it. Shape on edges isn't right either. Just sent my simba back after 2 months as it dipped.
Thankyou for a great and realistic review from you both ..I have ordered one as coincidentally my son had said the best ones at the moment are "Emma" and "Simba" but he said the majority prefer Emma for two people sleeping ...
I bought one and it is the most confortable mattress I have ever had, but you need to know that is not for lifetime, just for 10 years. My advice: Until 100kg buy the Emma original, for more than 100kg, buy the Emma One
Read on which that they recommend that you rotate the mattress every 30 days for the first year… too avoid dips etc… then once very 6 months…then once a year after that
People should do more of this. Reviewing products *after* they've been used for ages. Most people post product reviews after a couple of days.

6 meses depois amiga, que tem a dizer sobre o seu colchão? Um abraço de Portugal :)
dip thing was really helpful - i think that's the nature of memory foam regardless to their advert it will never retain its shape...thanks
I love mine! Still my favourite mattress after 5 years of use. No dips at all.
Hi, can i aso you what model do you have?
@@ericar.6091 it's the original version
Hi, saw your review just now.. hows the mattress after a year of doing the review video of your emma mattress?😊
Good luck
Could you please confirm what specific model is this one from Emma?
I want a mattress that I could get used to instantly and one that won't dip. I've had other low quality mattresses and even though it bounces, there's no dip
Hi get sealy mattress can't get better sleep within minute 4 hours on end 😴
Do you still love your mattress a year after this review? :)
I like when people put effort on making simple and very helpful video ,Thank you 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
The raised bit is a known fault with the mattress and will not go, only get worse to the point it wakes you up if you lay on it. I had three mattresses that all had the fault and finally trying to get a refund which is taking a lot longer than their advertised 3-10 working days
Thank you darling Mr & Mrs T xxx
Loved the review, funny and informative
Hi there.
Thanks for nice review.
How much is your weight sir? Just curious…
I am 17 stones.
Keep up good work.
🙋🏻♂️
Regards
How has your 2nd mattress been?
@@alvor2762 completely agree I had the same experience. Would never buy a hybrid or memory foam mattress again.
Now have a hypnos and it's amazing
@@matthewsle Well I did buy a type of Hybrid and it was the Brook + Wilde Elite. This is really worth a look. Very comfortable, comes in 3 different levels of firmness. 12 months trial and is a bed in a box type. Really exceptionally good compared to Emma. People who collected the Emma told me they collect more of these and the Simba mattress than any other make. From my experience I am not surprised.
@@alvor2762 Did you check on how many of each brand they delivered in the first place? No? OK.
This was a fantastic review. Thanks for the added humour.
We ordered our Emma mattress yesterday it is coming next week I can't wait as we have had our mattress for 10 years now so definitely need an upgrade :)
How's it been?
you maybe in for a disappointment as i read the review above, a long review that these mattresses do not last and are cheap made, i nearly purchased one glad i didn't
@@ProSaiyanYer it an absolutely amazing mayress I have sciatica and used to roll over in bed in pain when I had a spring matress this is amazing :)
@@beverleyevans6053Hey, how has it been holding up if you don't mind me asking? :)
I’ve had this mattress for about 14 months.
Saggy has become really bad and where I had a great sleep before it’s slowly got worse and worse.
Same here I got rid of mine at only 2 yrs!! It got so bad and then to top it off I took the cover off to wash it, at low temp and then air dried, and it was a complete nightmare to get back on, the handles ripped off and the mattress became completely lumpy after this!! Horrendous!!!
Complete scam
Now bought a hypnos and have never slept so well
@@matthewsle Very good to know! May I ask which Hypnos u bought? Looking into it as we speak. thanks
My honest review after two years of constant use is that they are Utterly rubbish mattresses.
I'd rather recommend marshmallows in a sack. It gets ridiculously soft after 5-6 months.
Which Emma memory foam mattress is this? There's more than one model.
hi.............. so which model is this mattress ?................is it really natural latex ?..............is it a double-sided mattress so that you can flip it over ?..............many thanks
I am in Brazil (Rio de Janeiro) and I need to change my matress to a new one. I am interesting in Emma and your video is really helpful. I think I´ll go on this one. Have a good day and thanks for the review :)
How was it now? Hehe
I'll purchase now, thanks for the review!
Very helpful!! Thanks for this!!
How the hell do you get the cover off to wash it? Can't do it.
Felt way to hard for me, it’s like sleeping on a plank of wood, don’t sink in at all. And mine had a strong smell even after a week I can still smell it. Emma has sent out a soft layer so hopefully that will make it better
It's the kind of review that I respect. Thank you!
Same here. Overhangs by about 4 inches
Haha great review. We’ve gone for this one 👍🏼
Which one did you get? Original or Premium or Luxe?
Which model is it? They have half a dozen models.
Is corner solid… as we tend to fall while coming close to corners during sleep
Even people selling these Emma mattress at carpet right say they will stop selling them cause too many come back too many problems with it
Correct they are awful
great honest review, thanks guys
That dip is why I am looking to buy a new mattress so Emma’s is not for me
😢is it waterproof if so urine or regular?"how long"
Thankyou for a great and realistic review from you both ..I have ordered one as coincidentally my son had said the best ones at the moment are "Emma" and "Simba" but he said the majority prefer Emma for two people sleeping ...
is the Emma mattress as good as they make it out to be? i am considering buying one for myself in single
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
I bought one and it is the most confortable mattress I have ever had, but you need to know that is not for lifetime, just for 10 years.
My advice: Until 100kg buy the Emma original, for more than 100kg, buy the Emma One
@@valtercristino1999 not buying any mattress.
With the price of eve mattress i personally think it should not imprint the shape of the sleeper
thank you so much for sharing
Thanks for this 🙌🏼
No problem!!
Read on which that they recommend that you rotate the mattress every 30 days for the first year… too avoid dips etc… then once very 6 months…then once a year after that
Which matress version is this?
