I do marine construction for a living in florida and deal with 7/16 shank impacts and bits. They are life savers. The old way was to drill a hole through a wood pile with a Milwaukee hole hawg and you better hold on. The right way is a 7/16 impact wrench. I use the 7/16 impact powered by dewalt and I can drill a 28 inch hole through a pile with one hand and not have to worry about breaking my wrist. Love the channel.
That was a great tip about getting one of those adapters. I was also impressed that you noticed the same patient number on both tools. You are a true tool geek hahaha. Thanks for the video and cheers.
These are helpful for getting down a wall through a fire block, but I have lost a couple bits in the wall. The release is so smooth, you can easily hit it as you pass through a piece of wood. Thx for the video!
I bought one of those Bosch bit holders, and liked it so much I bought 3 more (I now have three 6 in and one 12 in). Great recommendation. Too bad you don't get a percentage of the trips you've 'sent me on' to Home Depot.
Nice video! Would you Recommend this extended Milwaukee bit to go through a 6x6 timber or the 48-32-4531 version that is shorter? I want to make sure I have ample room to clear the beam and think maybe the smaller one may be more sturdy for the drive? And overall maybe the smaller being more practical to own? I would have a Irwin 6” paddle but I’d slide into the adapter to secure.
I got a question for you. I’ve had my eye on a Dewalt DWS 779. Harbor Freight has a clone of the DWS 780 for the same price as the 779. It looks top notch. A manager at the store even told me it’s made at the same factory as the Dewalts. I read HB also has their high end Daytonas made in the same factory as the Snap On. I was checking out the Hercules saw and noticed there was some side to side motion in the arbor. Would you consider that a deal breaker? Couldn’t that cause imprecise cuts on a sliding cut? The Dewalt did not have that play. There was no blade in the Hercules if that makes a difference, but none in the Dewalt either. Maybe the next time you’re in HB you can Give it a look.
I bought my DWS779 for $349 at Home Depot ... You can buy an "XPS" conversion kit for $80 to make it a DWS780... www.mmtoolparts.com/store/miter-saw-upgrade-kit-dewalt im not a contractor so in my opinion that light isn't necessary... That Dewalt is great.. I'd pass on the Herc....🏁
Gotten this exact bit stuck many times. Don't bore in more than about 2 inches at a time, then reverse and back it out to clear pulp or you'll create a heat compressed plug in between the auger and the quick lock chuck. It's a very bad day trying to get it out once it's in further than about 8 inches.
I might be wrong and or more than likely not the first person to tell you this about the dewalt tool you are demonstrating around the 6 minute point but it appears to me that this tool is not supposed to hold a bit any better than the magnet under the bit will, because it isn’t specifically a single purpose bit holder. After you insert a bit and connect a fastener to the tip, you should pull the sliding sleeve up over the fastener to avoid exactly what you demonstrate when the bit slips off the screw and you have to start over. Am I right? Or confused (🙄 again…editor)?
Yes it's a tapered friction capture system with 3 ball bearings anything that is 7/16 hex shank will lock into this adapter including the heads of bolts and Allen wrenches
Can someone please answer a safety concern question for me.? I was using interconnected or 2x 13 in" quick lock extensions extending my reach to 26" drilling 2,9/16" and 3,5/8" holes for plumbing work, my supervisor said that it's not safe I asked him why he came back an hour later and told me to go get my check.

I appreciate the demonstrations. I’d like to see some videos out in the field demonstrating various tools’ weird quirks and features.
Hi. Would you kindly tell me where can I buy it from and does it come any other extension longer?

Hey Catus, that 1/2” to 7/16” locking socket adapter on the ratchet is awesome. Where can I source that?
I've had to smooth grind mine because I use it in new plumbing. The hole hawg chewed it up a bit. Great video.
Nice video! Would you

The Diablo sold at Home Depot is the same as well
Better
They can handle so much torque and moments. Have you seen people make like 20-50 foot connections of these⚡🤙?
I never new it but they also make socket adapters in 7/16 hex
7/16" socket with a 1/4" to 3/8" adapter and some electrical tape. I know you have all done it, don't lie.
You go girl!
Does this use the 1/2 inch chuck.

The Diablo version of this is a lot better. No pop out mechanism so it won’t get stuck easily.

Milwaukee em acessorios? So a bosch se equipara. Grandes marcas ambas. As minhas favoritas.
Does the locking mechanism work if there are no holes for set screw on the 7/16 shank?

@@CatusMaximus Awesome thanks I picked one up today. Holds great even with straight shaft
Mine is jammed and wont move. Cant figure out what to do.
Wd40 didnt work
try pliers
@CatusMaximus i used channel locks and pressed downward onto garage floor.
Maybe the spring and opening around the lock is jam packed with debris?
🍻🍺

Nice 👍✌️
I hate when self feed bits get clogged up like that
First!
