I will say on my dk300max the brake pads were gone at 120 miles. Actually the brakes failed completely at that time and the handle was going all the way down with no braking at all. MEELOD did send a complete replacement set of brakes which was great. But I have since upgraded to a set of Zoom brakes and 180mm rotors. The stopping power is much improved now.
Do you know how this bike compares to the ariel rider 52v x class? I want a bike that accelerates fast, but not sure how to compare the different batteries and controllers
im not trying to be that guy but i dont believe that you hit anything above 36mph let alone 40mph on a stock dk300 max, unless youre getting your top speed off of what the speedo on the bike. which is off by like 4-5mph. but i know for a fact on that flat ground these top out at 34-36mph stock , depending on rider weight. also for $400 more the ghostcat F3 actually goes 37-40mph depending on rider weight . but for this price range the battery life is sick , i think you get like 32+ miles on just throttle and 100+ with peddle assist.
@@judsonrobertson Alright man you decided to double down lol . Do a top speed run like every other reviewer using your phone gps to track the speed ( on flat ground). ill literally paypal you $20 if you hit 38 with phone gps lmfao. like i said im not trying to be that guy but someone is gonna buy this based off of your review expecting it to go 37+ out the box , and its not. the dk300 max has a 22 amp controller , it literally cant do over 35-36 on flat ground , because of its controller, and even after you unlock it i think it jumps up to 25 amps, which still cant do over 35-36 on flat ground lol. The Ariel Rider is a 52v bike with i think a 30 or 35 amp controller and that tops out at 37-40 mph depending on rider weight. so explain to me how you went just as fast on a 48v 22-25 amp setup? now just to be clear i liked your review the only reason im being so critical about the top speed thing is because 1. a majority of the time the top speed is the deciding factor for someone picking an ebike. and 2. I know for a fact that this doesnt go anywhere near 37-38 because im 5'10 164lbs and i own a dk300 maxx. it caps at 36mph unlocked on flat ground lmfao
@@shrekkdeez9301 if you're using the throttle it overrides what ever pas level youre in, and gives you full power( example: you could be in pas 1 and still hit 35) . just to be clear everything ive said has been both backed and proven by literally dozens of other ( no offence to this guy but more credible ) ebike reviewers. now i dont like taking about other content creators in another content creators comments because i think its kinda poor taste but TrailHappyTV is literally one of the top 5 ebike reviewers out there , and he ( on camera with phone gps) couldnt get the bike to do over 32mph on flat ground . dude is like 6 foot something , 200+lbs and looks goofy af on this bike because its clearly too small for him lol. the dk300 max is a good ebike it just doesnt go the 38 mph this dude claims lol
I had this bike. It was a all around great bike but i have since sold it and gonna get the MGV3

This bike 100% goes over 36 MPH - I hit 37-38 easy.

@@AmSquidBtw you don't think individual units vary in speed 1-3 mph? Seems quite plausible
