    2:57 original exhaust. To be honest, I think the original sounds just as good. It's pretty deep on its own. But cool modification, still. I'll keep mine original.

      It's just an example of an inexpensive way to make an adjustable exhaust

    Great idea, nice work...i opened up my stock muffler myself but wasen't pleased with the sound, or the work i did 😁, so i bought a dominator muffler, 200e, not se expensive, totally recommend dominator as a brand...

    nice mod
    how about that follow up on sound as the muffler ages

    • @speederslower
      @speederslower  6 лет назад

      The sound is much deeper than original, the nice thing is that you can arrange it to your own preference

    Did it add any low tongue or change performance I’m not concerned with sound they will never sound great to me but I am looking for alittle more preformance

    • @speederslower
      @speederslower  4 месяца назад

      there is too little power increase noticeable to make that adjustment just for that

  • @TheBood1
    @TheBood1 2 года назад

    Do you lose torque or power no it is opened up and no back pressure?
    Mids you notice any performance improvement or decline?

    • @speederslower
      @speederslower  2 года назад

      No, i don't. It is the same in open or close position only the sound changes. So if there is a power gain then I do not notice it

  • @kendrickpavey6683
    @kendrickpavey6683 5 лет назад

    Not that interested in the adjustment mechanism, as clever as it is. I noticed you can see the end cap looking into the inlet. If there was a way to drill that out/grind it would avoid opening up the can. Thoughts?

    • @speederslower
      @speederslower  5 лет назад +3

      Y're idee is not possible. The system of opening and closing is because in some countries (like Germany) the regulation of noise is strict but not in Belgium. So when I go to make trips in Germany i close it and have no problems whit there regulation.

    Very nice mod! Bravo! Thanks a lot for this brilliant and discreet idea!!! I'm thinking about doing it, but we don't ear so much of a difference (I mean it's hard to have an idea of the real sound). Is it a lot more than original if we want it to be? By "lot more" I mean at least more than an aftermarket with DB killer on it? And close to a fully opened aftermarket exhaust (if adjusted on maximum)? If yes I surely go for it. Thanks in advance for your reply

    • @speederslower
      @speederslower  5 лет назад +1

      it's like de Akrapovic without the DB-killers installed when it's in open position. I've installed the exhaust now on my new r1250gs :-)

    • @speederslower
      @speederslower  Год назад

      see video @ 52 to 58 seconds, the cap is welded inside the tube, you've got to cut is with the ginder out the tube, you can see my cut in the tube

    • @speederslower

      jawel, als je dat niet doet dan zal je chrome omhulsel verkleuren. Het is niet gemakkelijk om deze terug op z'n plaats te krijgen; Heb dit gedaan met behulp van twee fijne metalen plaatsje om het hitte doek op z'n plaats te houden terwijl ik het omhulsel erover schuif

      @@speederslower Thank you. I guess exhausts get louder with some miles on them. i will and see. Your method is smart but complicated for average guy to do himself.

    awesome mod! where did the plug come from?

    • @speederslower
      @speederslower  6 лет назад

      I suppose you mean with "the plug" the inner torx bolt, it's a bolt i'v bought.
      You make a hole in to the threaded rod. You put the bolt in to the hole and weld it together. Just let space between the washer en the threaded rod (+/-12mm) for the thickness of the exhaust mantle. The dimensions of the inner hex is the same like the other bolts on the exhaust.

    • @Cloroethyl
      @Cloroethyl 6 лет назад

      I actually meant the block at the end, that plugs the hole! Couldn't get if it's the cut part that has been refurbished

    • @speederslower
      @speederslower  6 лет назад

      Yes, you cut out the end (see 0:55sec in video) and use it to weld it on the nut that on the threated rod (see 1m32sec).

    • @Cloroethyl

      I suspected it was that bit but thought it wasn't rounded in the corners. Thanks! Awesome build

    Kan het geluid vergelijken met jewel en hyde uitlaat

    • @speederslower
      @speederslower  5 лет назад

      De DR.Jekill & Hyde uitlaten hebben een nog diepere sound, een elektronische instelling met drie vaste posities, maar ook een ferm prijskaartje...
      De sound kun je vergelijken met de Akrapovic.
      Hier de voordelen:
      * je moet niet knoeien om de DB-killers erin te plaatsen zoals bij de Akrapovic als je naar Duitsland reist
      * je de instelling zelf kunt regelen (van origineel geluid tot volledig open) en het is veel goedkoper dan een Akrapovic/Remus/... ;-).

    15 min work and have the same result, use a hole saw and make hole truh the inlet off the exhaust ( ruclips.net/video/-NBOGQkZedc/видео.html )
