We don't have cheerleaders because we are quite capable of cheering by ourselves.
As you just found out they are certainly better than anything imposed by paid staff of the club could ever be.

The pie chant was at a match between *Bradford City* and *Doncaster Rovers* aka the *One Direction* derby (Zayn Malik vs Louis Tomlinson). My team *Bradford City* were winning the match 3-0 but the match became dull, so when half time arrived and a man in the Orange coat came back with a pie which was too hot, people around him started to chant things like "Do want a fork?", "Do you want some sauce?", "He's got some Brown (sauce)", "He's eating his pie" etc to give themselves some entertainment.
I wasn't at the match as I couldn't afford it, but if I did go I would have been sat with my best mate, his cousins and uncles. His eldest cousin is the guy in the Black coat next to the guy in the Orange coat, while the others are just out of shot to the right.
Another chant we made up a year later was at a match between us and *Blackpool.* *Blackpool* have been protesting by not turning up to games for years to try and make their owners sell the club. As they didn't have many fans in the stadium we sung..."You've got more seagulls than fans...."
And last of all another *Bradford City* classic (that we haven't sung for years) and has nothing to do with football from what I know of but it goes like this:
(One person sings the first line, everyone else repeats. In the tune of an american army marching song)
      LYRICS for *Bradford Ranger*

About Park and eating dogs - there was time when South Korean player named Ji-Sung Park played for Manchester United. In England there's this stereotype that Koreans use dog meat in their cuisine. And most of time this stereotype was picked on by Manchester United fans themselves.
    ...
    Here's another Ji-Sung Park chant:
    "He shoots, he scores,
    He eats labradors!
    Ji-Sung Pa-a-ark!
    Ji-Sung Pa-a-ark!"
    ...
Currently he is playing for some German club, I believe (don't take my word, I'm not 100% sure)

chants at sporting events are REALLY funny and it's not just restricted to football. The atmosphere at European (not just UK) sporting events is like nothing you will ever experience in the US. Not that American sports fans aren't just as passionate because they are but the difference is the size of our country. The longest possible journey you can make for any football match is around 380 miles (Plymouth to Carlisle). Most other matches are much closer than that, there are 5 premier league teams in London alone for example. Consequently there tends to be a large presence of away supporters at matches something you just don't get in the US. Lots of the chants will be sung in response to apposing fans and they all reference previous meetings or stereotypes. I know you think that some of those chants seem mean but when you understand they're being sung to players who earn hundreds of thousands of dollars a week by working people who earn a fraction of that maybe it gives a little more context. What you really need is to have an english football fan sat with you who understands the chants and can explain them too you. Then they would become a lot funnier.

The soul has been ripped out by these foreign investors who have no intention on pleasing the fans only filling their oversized pockets. The true fans that our the average working people of the town or city, the ones like in this video coming up with their chants, having a laugh on a saturday are being put second best to these rich cooperates. Problem with the uk in general these days is it copies america to much and that pisses me off.

    • @joem8904

Casual Chicken it's like that for the big teams. For lower league teams (Like my team, Portsmouth) it isn't like that at all. There's genuine passion and owners take over clubs because they care (apart from the unlucky ones like Blackpool and Leyton Orient) Just look at Middlesbrough's owner as an example

For people in the USA who don't understand the references we Brits can teach you how to make and circulate your own chants in six easy steps:
    1) Pick a current sports star or team that has been in the news for the wrong reasons or whose performance has been poor (including your own team)
    2) Make up a song to a well known and easy tune - either totally new or adapted lyrics
    3) Teach the song to your friends
    4) Sing it to every group of fans you meet on the way to the game
    5) Sing it in the bar before the game
    6) Sing it while waiting to go into the stadium so other fans can learn it.

It was liverpool vs chelsea. It was a crucial game and liverpool needed to win it in order to win the league after ages. Steven gerrard is midfielder of liverpool football club. During the game, there was back pass to steven Gerrard(he was the last man of the defense) by his teammate. But he slipped and Demba Ba of chelsea made most of the opportunity and scored which ultimately cost liverpool the league. So all the chants against him are in this context coz he really fucked it up for them.Ps: steven gerrard is one of the all time greatest mildfielders in football history.

He started his career in a even deeper role and on the wing at West Ham and then had a few appearances as a second striker at Chelsea (barely more than 20 as I remember) but he never ever was a false 9. He always had a striker in front of him and clearly didint have the abilities to play as a false 9.. I dont think you understood the position. Frankie still is a legend though.
