"Diamondback" is a truly unique tree. You have worked your magic again Bjorn and I will look forward to seeing it once it has developed some back budding.
So nice to see you work on a Ponderosa Pine. I haven't been able to fine anything on this species until this. Nice, nice tree. I have been interested because I stared a Ponderosa pine from seed, which proves I am an optimist at the very least. It has been growing for three years and is very slow, Much slower than the black pines I started at the same time. Fun nome the less. thanks for your great content. God bless you and keep your family safe.
This is possibly my favorite bonsai I've ever seen. Ponderosa Pine is one of my favorite trees to begin with, and I absolutely love the motion of the trunk on this one. I can't even explain why exactly I adore this one so much, it's just purely beautiful, and I love the work you've done with it. Can't wait to see the foliage start to develop. I hope that in a future life I'll be able to have a tree so gorgeous!
Very cool, Bjorn. That pine is a beast! It’s so big it actually makes you look short. Love the unusual design choices and it really does show that the tree already has a design in mind for a bonsai artist to work with. I look forward to these videos to keep my bonsai sanity in check :)
The previous intro of Bonsai-U videos was much better and exciting than this. Anyway, thanks for showing us another masterpiece. Your 10 mins videos always feels as you are sharing your 10 years of experience. Hats off for giving back to the community. God bless you, stay safe!
Wow, Bjorn! 😎 Cool to see you venture into a more "listen to the tree" style with this amazing specimen! 👏👍 I would love to see it on a nice slab! Well done and thanks for posting! Every video brings a smile on my face and makes me go out and work on my own Bonsai and that is a blessing in these tough and frightening times! Thanks for that! 🙏👍 Cheers, Hans van Meer.
I can't get over how masterful you are at both what you do AND at explaining it. I've been binging your videos for hours now, and before this I knew literally nothing about bonsai/had no interest in the art form. Keep it up man.
Thank you for making this video! I recently bought a ponderosa pine from someone who collected it a couple of years ago. I’m a little nervous to work on it since I don’t want to do something that’s irreversible. Would love to see more work on ponderosas! I love how you styled this one.
Would like to know more about working with the Ponderosa Pine needles and candles. Great tree and a great video, really enjoy them and keep them coming.
I love this bonsai and the direction you’re going with it. I’m particularly drawn to the deadwood on it, what character! I have a little boxwood bonsai outside right now that’s going to need a major trim before I bring it in for the winter. I’m in zone 5 so no leaving it outside, the pot would probably crack.
Wonderful tree but which variety ? I am working on one and apparently mine was a black pine dwarf .. but cannot find the notice when i bought it ! The needles are curved like on yours ( i have another black with absolutely straight spikes ) and buds of mine the same. Whitish and fat like yours .. so Could you tell me the variety of your pine ? Thanks i am gonna enjoy your work ! Added later on : Sorry i read afterwords that is a Ponderosa pine .. well i checked and ponderosa have more straights needles but some has curved .. unfortunately cannot send the pic of mine here !
Bjorn can I suggest you get a hydraulic lift cart. You can buy them for a reasonable price from a tool store called Harbor Freight . I've seen carts like that used at the national arboretum. Allows you to move your trees without changing elevation and straining your back.
Damn, how do you choose between really beautiful and really beautiful? Apologize (if need be)I would lean toward the original incarnation. Later on, with new growth and training, I could be wrong (definitely not the first time). I’m really impressed with the trees you come up with and the extreme training you put them through. They are unbeliveable (in a good way)...
Another great video and it's great to have advice on what time of year is the right time for certain jobs. One question I have though. I notice you haven't used raffia on the bends, that I (albeit considerably less qualified than yourself) would have done. Can you explain why and when you would use raffia on such heavy wiring as this.
Great, unique tree Bjorn. Love your work 👍🏼 Can I ask, who makes your beats for these vids? I’m a beat maker myself and really like your choice of beats
Are you not concerned about the stretched out effect putting to much stress/weight on the lower point of the trunk, where the block of timber was supporting the tree? obviously it's a very large tree and pines are really flexible but even still that's alot of overhang, I guess in the wild it would be in a similar position. Your right it does look like a snake striking out, another stunning tree.

That tree, and the work on it is amazing!
Ponderosa pine has to be my favorite honestly so American 😊

That is one mighty amazing tree
Looking forward to being able to visit Mt. Juliet and taking classes in the not too distant future! 🌿😷🌿
Great transformation. Glad you went with the inherent shape of the tree. Look forward to seeing the future development.
Looks so pretty!! Cannot unsee the snake now.
What a magnificent tree!
Simply beautiful. Very good work. Greetings from Spain
Beautifully styled
Bjorn, you don’t mess around do you, your place looks awesome, I live in Va and I think I need to take a trip to Nashville 👍😎 Mark

Awesome pine! Looks so savage and raw and untamed! Love it!
Woww..very beautiful bonsai😍😍😍
You're lucky to get such amazing pieces to work with.
as always, a spectacular beauty
Your design choice, maintaining length, was my first thought. Love the movement/design you ended up with on it.
So beautiful
Beautiful pine Bjorn! Excellent work! 👍👍
Wow. That's a nice one!! I like that you're going with the flow of the tree.
Absolutely brilliant! Looks super awesome!
Bjorn vids ALWAYS make me want to get in waaaay over my head with some new project. I'm ready to run through a wall like Kool-Aid Man right now.
Wow, that is stunning tree!

Nailed it!!!

Beautiful tree.
Gorgeous tree! Hope you can hold classes again soon!
What a beast!
Looks great 👍
Great tree !
Are the doors finally open? Few people from my local bonsai club would live to come see that tree.
Great video and inspiration! I have a yamadori close to my summerhouse with the same style that Im collecting this or next spring.
Would like to know more about working with the Ponderosa Pine needles and candles. Great tree and a great video, really enjoy them and keep them coming.
It was a rattlesnake.
But now it's dragon, as Diana Watson said here.
Good jazz you chose, and in the tree too.
I'd call it a "Dragon flying thru the sky" . It's quite an awesome tree.
Excellent
Precioso, el tronco es muy dinámico está genial!!!!!
Wow, excellent tree!
I just wish you showed us more of the base and the trunk, not just the front perspective
I love this bonsai and the direction you’re going with it. I’m particularly drawn to the deadwood on it, what character!

Awesome 👍
Love the Hulk pants.. also....
That's going to be a fine bonsai.
Show bela árvore e trabalho desde Belo Horizonte Minas Gerais Brasil...

Wonderful job Bjorn! Can I ask you for advice? What is the best soil mix for a pinus thunbergii? Thank you very much 👍👍👍👍🙏
Beautiful tree! How can you tell the age of the tree? (Im very new to the hobby....)

Very cool 😎
It’s a cool tee shirt , also a good name on the shirt 永青園
Curious how you go about guessing an age for one of these trees, I was shocked when you said it was so old! Great video, thanks!
*I take a look at my shohin bonsai* That's one insane big pine!
These vids really make me want to venture into the art of bonsai 😊
Please do Olive!🤗😉 And you also will become pleasantly addicted for life! Lil' trees cause big things! 😊
Stay safe everybody!

I can see it as a Chinese styled Literati, such a gorgeous specimen.
How do you estimate the age of a tree like this? 350-400 years old is a pretty specific age range
Wish I could find stuff like that in U.K, been to Scotland a few times but found nothing like this.
Sir the bonsai is badluck or goodlucky
lol where can we buy or just see your trees?
I was wondering if the tree would tumble over if you removed the stick. Turns out, it doesn’t :-D
Looks like a Dr Seuss Christmas tree
How much the prize for this tree ?
Bjorn possibly has the largest pinus in bonsai
That base must be insanely heavy
Woot
Make a 300 hundred year old tree look old..... and it works!
W👀 👀 👀W 👏
Una lastima que no tenga subtitulado , saludos
nice tanuki & hairdressing plants, bro!
(double whammy insult for a guy a respect quite a lot :P)
For me it's just too extreme..
