hey bjorn, I hope you don't mind me using your platform to spread the word about teleperion farms in oregon. Their home, nursery and various outbuildings were all destroyed in the beachie creek fire three days ago. If you are unfamiliar with them they have been a producer of wonderful bonsai for decades and friends and supporters of the bonsai community for as long. This is the go fund me page for them if you would like to help. thanks. www.gofundme.com/f/lisa-amp-chris-kirk-wildfire-recovery-fund?+share-sheet&
Imagine in a hundred years how this tree will look 😊 I’m really glad to have watched my friend do bonsai for the passed few years. I’ve always been a fan ever since I was little but never thought I’d be in some way taking my own bonsai journey. Such a peaceful art form, living nature sculptures, there really isn’t anything like bonsai
The clarity of your teaching is incredible! The words showing on the screen sure help. Thanks for another beautiful tree and lesson! I’ll probably never enjoy a personal stroll through your garden, or get to give Momo any treats, but anytime you want to film another walk around in the different seasons, please know I’m sure many of us would enjoy a casual walk and talk. Love the total casual vibes!
I bought 2 year old boxwood seedling to make into a mame bonsai .I was really excited, and for once I didnt start shaping right away. I kept telling myself "wait 1 year for it to settle into the pot" Turns out that little tree had some sort of virus, and it died in a week. Am sad now thank you for coming to my TED Talk
Hai Bjorn, thanks again for a very great video! Your’re videos are so much more relaxed than Ryan Neil who stress me out for no reason. You are also much more better looking to watch and that reality counts on youtube too.
Been getting into bonsai for 6 months now, countless hours of videos and research, and this video taught me about so much I've never heard of. Felt like a uni lecture and reignited my interest fully!
THANK YOU FOR THE CHEMISTRY LESSON. Seriously, your comment about the cytokinin and auxin process in the branches is, for me personally, a huge push towards better understanding how to prune and shape plants.
WOW!!!!! such an amazing transformation! Love it. This tree has so many interesting features with brilliant shape and styling. Thank you Bjorn for sharing yet another brilliant advisory/tutorial video.
Thank you for this video. I’m a newbie to bonsai and got m first tree last year. I recently bought a miniature spruce and a cascade style pot and will transplant and wire it soon then let it rest for the summer. I think it will end up being a semi cascade similar to the one you did here.
Top notch skill! Your videos show a life-long appreciation for bonsai, and each individual tree you deal with. You had a very good sensei to work with your obvious passion and talent. I'm in awe
An excellent review of design for that tree. I was able to follow, understand, and appreciate how you made it “so much” better. You selected a pot I thought would go great with it at the videos beginning. Appreciate and enjoy your videos, especially your descriptions and thoughts on working with bonsai. Jeff
Thanks for the well presented and informative upload as it solved a question I'd been asking myself with what to do with the apex of one of my junipers. Wiring and changing the direction back in to itself to create a new apex seems a much better option than any other I had been mulling over.
TIP: #/name/number the trees. Follow-up using the identification helps see the progress! (Also, edit your video/descriptions when the follow-up drops, or playlist each.)
Thanks for sharing and spreading the knowledge. Really like the way you took us through the process, explanation and visual, to the end. Keep up the good work.
Thank you Bjorn, I'm learning so much from watching your videos, I really like the presentation and how you explain everything clearly. Subscribed and donated. Look forward to seeing this tree in a years time.
I love to watch you to do bonsai. It’s so amazing how you turn out the tree .. please keep doing video I’m looking for next one I’m very enjoy watching it. Thank you 😊
Love what you did to this tree. One of the best first stylings I've seen in a long time. But... the tenjin there looks like ET's finger and that's all I can see now.
Amazing material and styling B! Video is super polished. Words posted in the vid helped. You got this RUclips thing down...Looking forward to more with that freshy fresh intro. Would love to see you work with some garbage Home Depot material to see what trained hands can make of it.
Excellent job, your work always inspires me to do my best when working with bonsai. I really hope my skills will be good as yours someday, right now I'm just trying to keep things alive in this harsh land of Utah.
When you water the tree, do you lower it from the tilted position then reposition it after it has drained. Or do you put extra drainage holes at the low point of the pot so water doesn’t pool in the pot. Thanks. Looking forward to seeing the tree in a year from now.
Excellent work! it looks superb. It is great to start from such terrific collected material - what a fantastic trunk and deadwood features! How much would a collected tree like this one cost in the United States before styling?
Looks horrible bro. You should definitely send it to me. You know just in case. Haha joking aside, what an amazing transformation. The shari is bomb man
Awesome!! Would have been really helpful to see the detail of the apex that you described ahead of time, so beginners could get a better idea of what you did for it. A final spin and maybe a view from above would also be helpful but, you STILL are hands down doing a great job of explaining, demonstrating and presenting GREAT bonsai content for everyone!!! Thanks for sharing! Continued success on youtube and your bonsai work!!
Great video, beautiful tree. I live in New Brunswick, Canada and would you leave a tree like that outside during the winter? Would it need to be in a shelter, like a green house or could it survive the snow cover and cold temperatures like we have here?
Hey guys, some bad news. Teleperion farms which has been an excellent bonsai grower for decades in Oregon was caught in the beachie creek fire and is apparently completely destroyed, their home included. If you guys would like to help there is a go fund me page set up. Spread the word if you can. Thanks.
Roger The Shrubber are you sure of this? Where can I learn more...I was there early this year, bought a bunch of stuff, and can’t believe it may be gone.
Roger The Shrubber wow! I just checked with Bonsai Mirai and unfortunately they confirmed it. There is a go fund me set up for them. I would gladly share the link, but this is Bjorn’s site and I don’t want to overstep any boundaries without first asking.
you go collecting up high in the mountains. Then you graft the kishu onto that, and after a few years, you get the starting material he had. It's work, and carrying a tree a long ways from the road is not easy.
Amazing, please next you should work with A huge elephant bush next time it’s a type of succulent but they are known for their beautiful bonsai trees if you work with them and they are the fastest growing bonsai tree you can started from a little tiny plant and into years it has a thick trunk it’s beautiful it’s huge to mazing and you can trim it wire it prune it and everything so please in your next video work with one 🌺🌺🤍
Astroman64 your right I have a round 20 elephant bush growing right now they’re a year old I’m gonna give them another year all of them are already like 2 feet tall and 3 inch thick trunks
Thanks for all of the love and support for Bonsai-U! Please consider helping us out by donating at bjornbjorholm.com/donate

Very nice!
Great skills 👏.
Do you propagate cuttings from clients trees after cutting them. Seems like a really cool way to get access to some harder to access trees.
Wow - well done
I love to watch you to do bonsai. It’s so amazing how you turn out the tree .. please keep doing video I’m looking for next one I’m very enjoy watching it. Thank you 😊

Waow amazing👍👍👍
Good job Mr
That was awesome!!
Can you make a video explaining how to create the apex of a bonsai? I haven’t seen a video where explains how to make an apex
Same! I thought this one would go deeper on the topic...
Same here, the black screen was frustrating
Can u do a follow up video on this tree, would love to see how it evolves? Many thanks from Australia

Would love to see you work with some garbage Home Depot material to see what trained hands can make of it.
Was glad to see your first cut, removing that long saber-shaped branch. It won me a small bet.
Amazing 👍🏻💖
Excellent job, your work always inspires me to do my best when working with bonsai. I really hope my skills will be good as yours someday, right now I'm just trying to keep things alive in this harsh land of Utah.
Fantastic, it was good to hear all about whats gone into the tree before its 1st styling... Can you ship it England lol?
Genial!!!!!!!
Woow,,very good

I don't like yamadori but I'm sure you'll take great care of it.
Excellent work! it looks superb. It is great to start from such terrific collected material - what a fantastic trunk and deadwood features! How much would a collected tree like this one cost in the United States before styling?
Anyone see a followup of this one?
Looks horrible bro. You should definitely send it to me. You know just in case. Haha joking aside, what an amazing transformation. The shari is bomb man
Sooo pretty
Any tips for caring for seedlings?

Late to this party but is there an update to this beautiful tree.
Awesome!!

Beautifull
Can you make an episode of "winterizing" junipers? I live in mystic ct and dont have a greenhouse.
Espléndido video muy intuitivo, una pena no tener los subtítulos en español ,de todas las maneras gracias.
Great video, beautiful tree. I live in New Brunswick, Canada and would you leave a tree like that outside during the winter? Would it need to be in a shelter, like a green house or could it survive the snow cover and cold temperatures like we have here?
junipers should be easily able to endure temperatures of up to -20° F or -30° C or even lower (depending on species)
@@h.b.1421 Thanks
good 👍👍

Do you immediately fertilize this guy with grow power? Or waiting until you see new growth? 👍🏼😊
Grettings from Germany 💪🏼
Were do people find dead wood like that with such character ?

Great bush though. 😂

First
Hi Bjorn, if you don't mind, please shave your arm a little if its not personal.. :). I love to watch your bonsai. Thanks for inspiring.
what you do is against the philosophy of bonsai. watch your video and think about it.
