@@Fonta99 - Only 1 year of waiting for a 3A game this huge and beautiful. Jim Ryan hasn't lied even one bit when he said that PS5 exclusives will take dramatically less time of development than before. We didn't wait much for Miles Morales, Demon's Souls, Returnal and now Ratchet
And this gives big hope for Square Enix games to release much faster, rather than 10y
1 year and I still havent found a freaking ps5 that's near retail price

It's crazy to think that Insomniac Games have managed to release 3 titles in just under a year with Next-Gen consoles out (Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Spider-Man Remastered, and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart). They're the Real MVP's of Next Gen so far.

The state of play is cool and all but dont let this distract you that thanks from the power of the ps5 the alien world is more dense and livelier and thanks to the speed of the ssd of the ps5 we can load worlds near instantaneous
The graphics look like how they make a trailer for a game look super realistic

@@geejayrc9401 Eh, quick question about the new Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart for the Dimensional chaos of the Dimensionator that is been stealing by Dr Nefarious who wants to go to another dimension when the heroes always lose. Can we go to Ratchet’s dimension with the purple crystals or something like that?
If each planet (or at least a number of them) is an open level with multiple objectives like the original Ratchet, then we'll have ourselves a real banger.
The 1 second 0:20 shot makes me care about the new Rivet character more then anything else I've seen so far.
That look is such an intense and realistic look of fear, stuff like that is worth a million lines of dialogue.
Whoever did the mocap and the mapping for that has done a phenomenal job.

I remembering playing all of the classic ones on my PS2 as a kid. I’m getting old now, but I’m so happy this franchise is still around and others get to experience the magic that I felt when I was young.

There has never been any proof that the game took 9 to 10 years, it most likely suffered the same fate as anthem, getting scrapped multiple times in these 7 years, it probably took them 1 and a half year to 2 years tops
Say what you want about the game itself, but Night City in Cyberpunk 2077 looks and feels awesome, they captured the cyberpunk vibe incredibly well

I just can’t get over how large the worlds look (and actually are). They totally reinvented the wheel for this Ratchet and Clank installment.

wow, as a long-time ratchet and clank fan since I was 6 on the ps2, this game looks amazing. From the beautiful characters, new weapons, amazing mobility, and ability to play as both characters while also having clank and other mini-games. Simply amazing. I was hoping more games would make use of the ps5 controller like Astros playroom, here it is.
May not be my cup of tea but this is how you advertise all your hard work stunning looking with a touch of humour

@@hansalanson3497 yea it ain't perfect. But people comparing it to console version. Go play it with Ray tracing at max also 60 fps. You'll see what I mean. So far with consoles all I've seen is the lowest possible for Ray tracing. Reflection quality etc ain't the best. With pc you have it all lighting shadows reflections everything. Consoles can only just about implement one without taking too much of a performance hit and still its on the lower end of the capabilities of Ray tracing. To be expected its amd not nvidia anyways.

The combat...stuff is flying everywhere. there is SO MUCH going on....................light flashes, colors, blurs, explosions and sounds. This is insane. I LOVE IT

2:45 : The way that the ships all make a right turn just before making their left turn in front of the screen on the left is a bit weird and looks a bit too rail-like.
12 : 32 : It would have been nice to see a bit of ground being moved and left on the surface when these creatures are burrowing, instead of them disappearing in a puff of smoke.

With the bit of info they gave at the end in regards of what to expect in the final game reminds me so much of Going Commando and Into the Nexus. Arguably my favorite Ratchet and Clank games.

I never played a single ratchet and clank game before, two questions:
-Do I have to play any previous game for the licence or can I skip them? (except for the one i'll mention just below)
-I got the ps4 version of ratchet and clank (via the ps5 plus collection), should I play it or is it not worth it / not mandatory?

The only thing I don't like and this is nitpicking is the fact that the models when walking through vegetation don't interact with it they just walk through and the vegetation just goes through the characters.
That is a fair point since every big game seems to have it.

I didn’t notice until now but Rivet’s lilac fur color looks like the sky or environments of some of those planets.
Also you can even see the Megacorp logo at 1:08 in the background. I'd love to see the weapon designs from the PS2 games make their way here!

only thing that grinds my gears, is them not destroying the boxes on the right at 12:19
that whole little mini sequence at 10:04 the way everything flew into the scene like that was amazing very well timed

The new Ratchet & Clank game is coming on PS5 in June 11! Maybe I recognize the original trilogy is one from PS2 and also, it's an spin-off, such as "Ratchet: Deadlocked" and "Size Matters".
Everytime they mention the Omniverse, I feel goosebumps, thinking about the possibility of references to Sly Cooper and Jak & Daxter. Maybe Playstation is working on the comeback of those legendary characters (the best!) and maybe joined them all together in the future 👉👈 uhhhhh
