Thank you. I got a rainbow e2 given to me and it's got some issues, but I wouldn't take it the the repair shop as nasty as it was. The one you had was perfect compared to this one. In fact I think it got used then stored in a shop or something without getting cleaned. Lol, but with your help I was able to clean it up nicely and now I can drop it off to have the switch removed and a new heppa filter and I think it'll be ready to go. I'm not a big rainbow fan so I'll probably donate it to a family in need.
Hey great video, really enjoyed it. I hope you will make a video of how you clean the hoses on these units one day! I know you gave a nice description of how you clean the hoses but still I would love to see it in action. Super satisfying to see all that gross grime cleaned away!
Thanks so much for this video. I cleaned our vac and it is so much better. I had some trouble putting everything back together until I watched your video.
Another great video. I've torn down and rebuilt 3 of these now. All worked great except for one. Gets hot and shuts down after 15 minutes of usage. Brand new motor, new gasket, new separator, new foam insulation. It was beyond nasty when I got it. Only thing original inside was the control board which was dusty was blew it out with a keyboard duster. Motor fires up nicely, not loud etc. Scratching my head trying to figure out what's causing it to overheat. All OEM parts from rainvac too
Hey, I love your videos. ( I'm using my son's account). To answer your question, wet dust doesn't fly, BUT... Customers are told upon purchase what I call "the three Gremlins rules" from the movie Gremlins LOL! 1. to never ever vacuum up ashes, sheetrock dust/debree, and powders like Carpet Fresh. They are water insoluble. There is a HEPA filter because of rule number one that 9 out of 10 people never follow LOL and also by law, rainbow has to put a HEPA filter in it whether it is actually utilized or not... just like by law, toasters have to have a warning tag on them to never put them in water. 2. Clean your separator at least once a month if you're not going to do it after every use. It is the life of the rainbow and if it gets coated, it will not work properly. 3. Do not run the rainbow with no water in basin and do not store with water in basin because people leave the same water in, it becomes a sludgy non liquid byt non solid
And I wasn't trying to be that guy LOL I do love your videos but I grew up as a rainbow baby LOL my mom got into it in 1980, and I believe she was the first woman to become a satellite distributor (or at least on the East Coast, but i could be wrong). But basically the quality of the rainbow is so great that they have in 10-year warranty on motor or replace the rainbow, and 8 years on parts and labor should anything ever break or crack etc. Also you get $1,000 off when you trade in your old rainbow for a new one. No other product or company offers that. Try to take your washing machine back to Sears to get a new one and ask for $1,000 off Etc LOL

I know you guys don’t really like the SRX but it’s actually not that bad now they put a more powerful motor in it and went back to the E2 powerhead. We just did a demo a couple days ago and bought the new SRX and this new powerhead is absolutely insane. Motor is much more powerful to. There’s more airflow now.
@@gagainer oh yeah it definitely is a lot better not as powerful as the e2 but the airflow is just as good maybe just a tiny bit worse than the e2 but definitely an improvement over our 96 se
Thank you Greg for making the video. although i am partial to the Old D2 Rainbow i know the newer models are supposed to be better . but you're videos are very informative i watched the video about the srx and was surprised at how terrible it is . Really like watching all you're videos about all the various vacuums and the performance of them .Keep making videos Awesome Job . and Thank You again for taking my request into consideration
I worked at Rexair (the actual mfg's of the Rainbow)....and I was in supply chain mgmt. I can tell you during the design phase of SRX -- a couple of major themes emerged -- one was curing known issues or design improvements of latest models, that weren't feasible with existing design and cost consideration. Also was "revolution" vs evolution change. Thus you see some radical design changes, which by nature create new and different (and uknown also) flaws and unintended issues. I think we should have chosen Evolution. The concern was would the market not be engergized by it vs Revolution. I have more insights but thought I'd share that. On the power nozzle I loved the side brushes. They were taken off primarily because major Saudi Arabian Dealers hated them.
Hi, like you videos. Informative. I was wondering if would consider making a video on the Aquamate ll as there is only one video on RUclips of the Aquamate ll system and the gentleman doesn’t say a word the whole video and is constantly putting the camera down so you have no idea what is really going on and what anything does. I’m really hoping that you would consider making a better video. I’m considering buying an Aquamate ll system to go with my rainbow series 2 speed for rinsing and dry passes when I use my Bissell Hydro steam to clean my carpets. The problem with the Hydro steam is I find it leaves the carpets still very wet even after multiple drive passes with it, and the rainbow would do a better job at picking up the water in the carpet, thank you keep up the great work!
Just use your rainbow with an empty basin to pull up the water left by your Bissell steam. Not through the power vacuum attachment, but through the large nonpowered, non-electric attachment. Sorry, i have forgotten a lot of the names for the attachments.
Where do you reconnect the 2 plugs for the lights, I saw you disconnect them reconnect them, but I cannot remember exactly where to plug them 🤦🏻♀️ great video BTW got my machine spotless now, If I can figure that part out to get it back together 🥴😊
Greg, We have recently started having issues with the handle level sticking, and either not allowing the brush cleaner head to engage the brushes, or engaging the brushes and will not disengage. Any insight into disassembling the handle to review the lever mechanism?
Does the rubber water pan/motor gasket get glued onto the motor? I’m ordering a new motor cause mine has vibration despite the fan blades being superbly clean. And it doesn’t come with the thick rubber gasket I don’t think.
Hi. I have a single speed E2 series. It just stop working while vacuuming . I inspected the water bowl tab and tested with a chopstick engaging the safety switch, bus still no power. Should I start with the safety switch first or go up top on the main switch? Thanks
I have taken mine apart and cleaned it. I put it all back together, but now it only works on the side that blows out air instead of the vacuum part. Any ideas on what i did wrong? I did it exactly how you did and had my husband help put the motor part back in.
I think the SRX power head has a lot of air leakage and it’s brush roll intake area is too big for decent/ concentrated suction pressure. I should have bought the E2 black.
Hepa filter is required for aham certification. Also if i suck up sheetrock dust on an e2 it will get through at the right amount. My srx. 0 dust inside so far from july.
👍The hepa neutralizer was (and still is) a smart addition to the machine. Common mistakes by owners are not using enough water and/or not changing the water halfway thru (particularly with dirty/old carpet, little ones in and out tracking in dirt, pets). In both of these scenarios, some dust and dirt will not be trapped in the water bath and will end up in the motor components or out into the air. Also, vacuuming the carpet after doing any drywall work, even a small area, is not recommended since this powdery dust is not wetable. So, by having this third step of filtration in the rainbow, we are letting virtually nothing escape the machine, resulting in fresh, clean, water washed air. Separator-Water bath-Hepa neutralizer is a deadly, 3 way combination against dust and dirt giving you a clean, healthy home
How do you take apart the handle on the hose of the Galaxy E2 Galaxy 2000? My trigger switch went out and I wanted to see if I can open it up to see what’s going on? I can’t afford to take it in right now and want to try and fix it myself.
Hepa filters was mandatory by lawmakers that every vacuum sold has to have HEPA filters on them not much u can do about that. But in my personal opinion, every vacuum lets dust get by no matter what anyone that says that they’re vacuum won’t let dust or anything back into the air is just trying to sell a product.

Watch around the 4 minute mark. Once that part is out you put a small wrench to hold the shaft and a larger one to remove the nut. I had two crescent wrenches out so that's what I used but end wrenches are probably best. Note after you get the nut off I had to hold the shaft and twist the fan to work it off.
